@badcameomusic Gears Up For Their Second Album, ‘Friday Night Time Warp’
Three-piece act BADCAMEO is a connoisseur when it comes to mixing and blending an array of old-school styles – funk, disco, and soul with modern pop & R&B, which they call ‘Indie-Funk Fusion.’ They’ve brought their energetic fusion to more than sixty shows since the start of 2021 and were fortunate to share the stages with heavyweights, including electronic pop duo Sylvan Esso, jam-alt rock band…

BadCameo Will Make Everyone Dance With "Friday Night Time Warp"
July 2022 - BadCameo has recently announced a new album release: “Friday Night Time Warp.” This upcoming project is a true highlight for the Tampa-based band, who continues to set the bar higher with new ideas and incredibly dynamic songs that are personal yet very easy to relate to for a broad audience. “Friday Night Time Warp” is a perfect example of how BadCameo is able to create such a wide and fresh variety of sounds, akin to the work of influential artists such as Kool & The Gang, Sly & The Family Stone and Earth, Wind & Fire, only to mention a few. The production of the release is just as powerful and crisp as the intensity of the performance, creating a colorful, funk-infused tone. Certainly, “Friday Night Time Warp” is a release that will speak to the audience due to its inherent groove and positive vibes.
Find out more about BadCameo, and make sure to mark your calendars for the much-anticipated release, “Friday Night Time Warp,” on August 5! In the meantime, check out “Funk Train,” “Healin’,” and “Fast Love” to get a preview of the album.

BadCameo introducing brand new single: Pink Leather.
July 2020 - BadCameo is a band with a focus on exploring various styles of music, including jazz, funk, fusion, hip-hop, and neo-soul. Their most recent release is a single titled Pink Leather. This song came out of an impromptu jazz-hop tune, which was roughly recorded, before evolving into the full-on track that it is today. The release has a diverse sound, which combines the warmth of electric piano and the smooth vibes of a feathered drum kit. The vocals are incredibly charismatic, reminding me of artists as diverse as Jamiroquai, as well as Prince, Miguel, and Justin Timberlake, but with a smoother feel. The arrangement retains a very spontaneous feel and the band gives you the impression that they are actually having a really good time performing this track! I love how the song also features some lyrics in Italian, and a triangle kicks in to complement the groove in a very unique way. Towards the end, the song’s dynamics ramp up beautifully, with a nice crescendo and a killer lead part which (to my ears) sounds something like an old-school mono synth, giving so much vibe to the sound, with some nice and lush textures in the background. In addition to the verve of the song, I also love the style of this production. One of the first things that you might notice is most definitely the high quality of this production, in terms of sonic aesthetics and balance. The instrumental mix is well-calibrated and extremely dynamic, with a really deep low end and a crunchy mid-range that adds a lot of excitement to the track. This is really a perfect fit for this particular genre, and these musicians have some truly incredible natural connections, highlighting their chemistry. Sonically, the technical aspects of the recording are truly astonishing, with a treble range that is smooth and bright, adding a lot of silky edge to the mix, and allowing the vocals to really pop to the forefront of the mix, but without ever being too overpowering.
