Low-key terrified for my family right now. They're immigrants (though legally here) and a couple are in the process of earning their citizenship. And while I'm a first-generation American, I still can't shake off what tomorrow will bring. The raids will allegedly be starting tomorrow in Chicago, where we live. Please, stay safe everyone. Stay in touch with your friends, family, loved ones. There will be a lot of door-to-door activity, riots, and protests. Know your rights. Ask if they have warrants. Resist, resist, resist.

I have a couple of questions for performers -

1. if your friends/family come to a performance, do you want them to tell you (sincerely, of course) that you did good/great?

2. what do you think if they don't say anything at all about your performance?

I would also like to point out that Knuckes and Sonic had 10 years to process the lost of their loved ones. They had 10 years to go through the 7 stages of grief. For Sonic, he was able to heal from that because he found a new family and home. Knuckles was still going through the anger stage when he first met Sonic but then was able to accept it and move on (by joining the Wachowski and finding a new family).

For Shadow though, even though the Ark raid happened 50 years ago, to him it was 50 seconds ago. Shadow went straight from losing his home and family to waking up in another time period. He had no time to grieve like the other two did, I think that’s going to be so interesting to watch. To see the differences of how these characters deal with loss.

In thinking about it, in the SCU all the kids have some sort of trauma regarding loved ones. Sonic lost Longclaw, Knuckles lost his tribe, Tails never really had anyone. And Shadow lost not only the one person he loved most in the world, but also his entire home and everything he knew.

Okay, so they're all the same, right? Good bonding shit.

Not necessarily.

Shadow is the only one who actually saw his loved one die.

Sonic didn't see Longclaw go down. Knuckles didn't see his father get taken out. Tails was never close to anyone, so he never experienced that sense of loss.

But Shadow? He watched Maria get shot right in front of him. While she was trying to save him.

He was also different in the fact that he had the power to save her. He wasn't a little kid, at the mercy of what his elder told him to do. He was the Ultimate Lifeform. He had powers. He was strong. He should have been able to save her. But he didn't. He couldn't.

So no matter what kind of guilt and regret the others carry regarding the death of their family, Shadow's is unique in that he had a front row seat to the death of the one person who meant the world to him, and he couldn't save her.

I still can’t get over the fact that it’s ACTUALLY called Sonic x Shadow Generations. It’s REAL. IM LOSING MY MIND. I THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS MESSING WITH US. I DIDNT THINK THEY WOULD ACTUALLY DO IT

holy shit, quick thought: what if in SXSG when Shadow has to face the Ark raid again, he tries to save Maria this time because he knows what to expect. But, he still fails and realizes this was his true fate

I really wished Shadow was used as a hostage in Prime. I would’ve loved it if Nine gave Sonic the choice to sacrifice himself for Shadow and the shatterspace.

And of course, Sonic does this without hesitation because he loves his friends and the other worlds. He would do anything for them.

I just think it’ll be interesting if Shadow was once again forced to watch a friend give up their life for him and he can’t do anything about it.

I wonder the reason why Shadow has his wings is because Black Doom is trying to unlock more of his true potential. Like, I can imagine Doom trying to make Shadow look/feel more like a Black Arms and make him realize he's suppose to be with them and not the others because he's different.
