The saga of my daughters bar light from her great grandpa's collection has come to a favorable end.
I replaced the old electric clock that was in it for a motor with a 3 rpm motor, I replaced the florescent light ring with an LED one. When the center shaft broke I replaced that with a cut off 5.56mm casing that I filled with epoxy and Gorilla glue. I cut a new section of plexiglass to fix an issue with the front mat and then I added some feet to the back to assist with air flow and hear build up.
This light was made in 1979, maybe what I did will help it last another 43 years.
