#summit #Sunrise February 22,2016 #MountKilimanjaro ...we left #BarafuCamp (15,000ft) at 015 & began our seven hour #climb to the #RoofTopOfAfrica I did not start feeling the effects of the #altitude until somewhere above 17,000 when I could feel my heart pounding & blood pressure rise. Everything has to work Harder in high altitude with limited O2. " #PolePole " our guides reminded us as we climbed slow and steady to our destination after a five day #journey I took this video on our way from the first peak (#StellaPoint 18,885ft) to the top #UhuruPeak 19,341 ft You can see one of the #glaciers These photos and videos do not do justice of the wonder and beauty I witnessed on this #adventure. The night we left, we were joined by several others, united by one goal, one experience, encouraging one another as we climbed higher. Some were sick, other completely depleted,...one man lost his life that morning. This was by far the most intense feeling of #joy, #Love, #gratitude I've ever experienced in my life. After zero sleep. We left #BarafuCamp (15,300ft) & #climbed for 7 hours to #summit #MountKilimanjaro (19,341 ft) at 0748 for #sunrise I cried on and off for about ten mins prior to summit full of #joy & #happiness. This was the best feeling I've ever had in my entire life. I remember wishing I could bottle that feeling and take a drink whenever I felt I needed it. This is one of the most amazing #experiences of my life. And truly what I #live for.
