Hoy visité la casa de Eva Klabin ubicada frente a la laguna Rodrigo Freitas. A diferencia de la de su hermana Ema en San Pablo (ver posteo previo), aquí no existe un proyecto arquitectónico anterior. Eva compró un chalet en este exclusivo barrio de Río de Janeiro y lo agrandó y modificó para poder albergar su colección de arte, recibir amistades y ofrecer conciertos de piano. Si la comparamos con la de su hermana menor, casa y colección de arte quedan un poco por debajo. También aquí lo que domina es el eclecticismo absoluto a la hora de adquirir y ubicar las piezas. En la principal sala de estar, la pintura renacentista florentina convive con piezas orientales, egipcias y cerámica precolombina. En un espacio más íntimo, piezas romanas lo hacen con pintura inglesa del XVIII. Hay una exquisita sala china donde se jugaba a las cartas que es el espacio que más me gustó. En el segundo piso, un alero devino sala de conciertos de piano, dividido por un hall del sector más privado: una sala de estar para los más cercanos, el boudoir y un imponente dormitorio en suite con un fantástico vestidor donde están exhibidos algunos de los vestidos, guantes, carteras y pieles de la propietaria. Una casa medio escondida en la jungla que es Río. Basta poner un pie dentro de ella para encontrarse en un oasis de silencio y frescura. Más allá del valor de la colección, predomina el buen gusto y la armonía en la elección de colores para cada espacio. Y posee algunos hallazgos, como convertir a determinadas ventanas en vitrinas. Here's another shot of Venus and Jupiter. I took this one between the walnut tree branches from home yesterday evening. I was too tired to leave home so I had to get a little creative. If you zoom in, you can see Jupiter's moons! The pair will still look close tonight... in the west after sunset. I'll have to reshare this image on Halloween.
