What’s your favourite elf and fairy character (personality and colour palette)?

Personality wise, I love Holly, Strawberry, Nanny Plum, Redbeard, Wise Old Elf and Barnaby, and Ben is underrated in my opinion

Colour palette wise: Fleur, Barnaby, Lizzy, Nettle and Tarquin’s colour palette are my faves. Strawberry’s colour palette is good too (in my opinion)

I’ve got severely bad art block I cannot think of anything also having hard time designing so I might redesign somma these before I colour them but here’s the sketches of some pony characters. I hc Fleur to be distant royalty so I gave her small wings. She can’t fly tho.

I’m definitely gonna rename some characters to fit mlp names. Some fairies I’ll keep the same like strawberry.

The witches are changeling queens from rival hives. I think I will draw them as reformed changelings too. I have some designs of them as bat ponies and draconequi but I’m not sure. Bat ponies fit I think. What do you think?

Pumpkin elf is a young girl that works at her own tailor shop, the only one in the Little kingdom, so there is no one that doesn't know who she is, her work is pretty good but she more know by how grumpy she can be.

She's pretty condescending towards people, has a slight problem considering herself better than others her age, very stubborn and not very sociable, but when she's not too grumpy, she can be more calm than usual, altought she become more grumpy when she moved to the Little Kingdom, in her view everyone is annoying

She has a pygmy mouse as a pet Called button, and a older sibling in the works, which is the one that takes care of her

Her relationship with all the rest of the kids is just her scaring them all in her mind is funny she's just a little hater,,, basically this ft Strawberry and Barnaby

She's 14 years old

All the clothes she has are made by herself

Pumpkin isn't her real name, but lets people call her like that (is not like she cares)

Wise old elf biggest hater, and has enough characther to scary him off

Other elves thinks she's scary, mostly the kids, adults tries to be nicer to herm even when it doesn't work, no matter what day is it, but she has gain a lot of respect from them too

She likes cute fashion like lollita, being the reason why she uses lots of ribbons and lets her hair be that long, in secret she has some dresses of that type

I'm staying with some family for the holidays, and every year we make christmas cookies. We tried royal icing for the first time this year 🥴 the kids that were there did it better than me.

I recently discovered Billie Bust Up, and I'm in LOVE with Barnaby. So naturally, I had to include him in the cookie-making. I had to leave early though, so when I colored him black with the marker things, I broke the smoothness of the icing bc it wasn't dry.

In my last post I talked about a familiar elves naming system and promised to give more details, so here it is:

Elves have a kind of society that is organized througth family groups (like a kind of birt registry). Therefore, everyone has a surname which is responsible for indentifying their family group, For exemple :

Ben Bennet (Ben elf)

Barnaby Elliot (Barnaby elf)

Lizzie Heartell (Lizzie elf)

Please note that everyone metionet has a surname,indicating their family group. However, they have a second surname (Elf) would be an employee's name at the elf factory, that is ,it indicates that thay have an important role in the factory or society. example:

Ben- appredice of the wise old elf (practically his sucessor)

Barnaby - he is grandson of the wise old elf, meaning his family plays an important role in the factory.

Lizzie- her mother is responsible for organizing the employess (also playng an important role in the factory).

And yes ,I toodk the name Benjamin from Ben's name. Well, I thought it would be a litlle difficult to understand Au's mechanics.

What do you think Ben and Holly’s dynamic and personalities look like?

My opinion:

Ben is usually calm, laid-back and chill and often the only brain cell left in dangerous situations. He is a good observer (in the woodpecker episode when he taught the chicks to fly by mimicking the flying poses despite not knowing how to do it himself), pretty handy and good at fixing things (like all the elves do) and a bit ambitious and a good animal tamer (I’m not sure is it the right term to use, but the successfully ride Speedy the Snail (one of the hardest to be tamed.) and forgives quickly (the elf games). But he can be a teaser (in the elf joke episode, with no ill intent), lose his temper quickly and occasionally dismiss fairies' abilities (such as magic and flying, but he learned from it and never did it as often). And talking about the “Ben’s birthday party” episode, he just asked Holly about his birthday card and either she remembered his birthday (I know the writers used that for plot purposes (reminding Holly to make Ben’s birthday card to get the episode going) but I feel that’s a bit insensitive from Ben’s side, so I would make it his flaw. And he's a bit of a power illusionist (in Superheroes when he cosplayed into Elfman, but his friends just called him Elfboy which is very humourous though)

Holly is outgoing, girly and sometimes pretty aloof. She has a kind personality and is naturally curious about everything (especially elf culture, like she always asks Ben what he’s learning at school or go to his school to experience herself). If she loved someone (familiarly, platonically or possibly romantically), she would be attached to them very much (eg: Nanny Plum, King Thistle, Ben, etc). And in my opinion, she’s one of the smartest fairies in the series (she nearly guessed Barnaby’s fairy disguise (she asked him “Have we ever met you before?” - simple to us the audience but considering how dumb the fairies are, this deserve applause). She compliments other people a lot (especially Ben). However, she is often overconfident of her own abilities (eg: her magical skills and the possibility of it going wrong), sometimes looking down on elven customs (but like Ben she fixed that quickly and may be one of the few fairies in BAHLK treat elves with respect (the other are the fairy kids and Mrs Fig)). She can be cruel with her magic when she’s angry (the elf joke day episode), and has a really scary death glare (the wand factory to Strawberry and to the Wise Wand 3000 in the new wand episodes).

I think both of them are optimistic, love adventure and cared deeply and concern for each other when one of them is in trouble, and treat each other as equals despite of class and race divisions (also deserve another applause)

Regarding to romantic shipping (when they are teens/ adults), they would fit into the “Childhood friends to lovers”, “Interspecies romance” and “Forbidden love” tropes ( considering the class and race difference, segregation and we never see a hybrid or a proper elf and fairy romance in the series )

=> Dynamic: (In the series) Very platonic and sibling-like (Ben and Holly treat each other like siblings that they never had since Ben is an only child and Daisy and Poppy are fucking hell spawns)

More horses!!! I couldn’t be bothered to do my usual line less style since I’m tired but I wanted to get some designs done to help with my art block.

Kept some names the same or similar like Fleur, Strawberry, and Violet as well as Daisy and Poppy. Changed some and will change a bunch of them since they don’t fit the mlp naming system.

I kinda have an idea for some of their talents.

Violet Blossom will have florist talent.

Sunny Splash (Barnaby) will most likely have some water related talent. I see him as a lifeguard. Oooor he can manipulate sun rays and do cool things with them like light fairies from Disney fairies.

Honey Bumble (Lizzy) will have beekeeping talent because I think that’s cute.

Fleur I think will have the talent to connect with people idk. Gave her small wings coz I hc her to be distant royalty

Beryl (Jake) has geology talent. He strikes me as someone who likes geology. Especially Martian geology.

Idk about Strawberry tho.

Daisy & Poppy have large wings and horns coz I based them off of Flurry Heart. They’re very powerful which is not good for two mischievous children.

Also their friends!!! I don’t want Tarquin to be named Tarquin in mlp that’s a lil strange lol so I’m thinking Pluto??? It fits his face I think. I also think he will grow up to be on a ship’s crew or smth lol.

Anyways I think I will do the witches, King Thistle, and the wise old elf next. Also since Cedric used to have a wand I think I’ll give him like a broken horn? Maybe he hides it with a large hat or something. We’ll see.
