Kingdom Hearts: Dream Team
Christine Marie Cabanos as Gracie
Martin Short as B.E.N.
Jackie Buscarino as Kevin
Barrett Leddy as Iago
Jeff Bennett as Sir Hiss
Chris Diamantopoulos as Mickey
Frank Welker as Oswald
Corey Burton as Yen Sid
Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis
The plot can be broken up into sections based on where things take place.
On Earth:
Grace “Gracie” Whitmon lives with her parents and older sister on Martha’s Vineyard. On the last day of school, a golden bubble floats down from the sky and pops, releasing a key-shaped object. Puzzled, Gracie takes it home. That night, she is contacted in her dreams by the sorcerer Yen Sid, who informs her that, having received the key, she has been chosen to destroy a demon called the Great Eraser, which is on a course toward the utopian Kingdom of Dreams. Gracie must travel throughout time and space to find three other companions who represent Wisdom, Innocence and Loyalty; for this purpose, she is given three capsules, each containing artifacts which she is to give to those whom the key reacts to. She is also instructed on how to convert the key into a keyblade. Yen Sid warns Gracie that the Blots, demons who follow the Great Eraser, will attempt to stop her so that they may take over the Kingdom of Dreams in the Great Eraser’s wake. Awakening the next morning, Gracie finds the artifacts in her bed. After much self-debate, she packs her backpack with the artifacts, her wallet and some supplies before activating the keyblade, which opens a portal to her first destination. At the same time, the Blot Chief receives word of Gracie’s quest and sends his stormtroopers to stop her.
On Montressor:
Finding herself many centuries in the future on the planet Montressor, Gracie meets the navigator robot B.E.N., whom the keyblade identifies as the holder of Wisdom. After B.E.N. receives his artifact, an archery bow, the Blots land on Montressor and attempt to confiscate the keyblade. However, B.E.N. figures out that the bow summons and fires magical arrows, and uses it to scatter the Blots. Upon learning the object of the quest, B.E.N. tells his employer, Sarah Hawkins of the Benbow Inn, that he’s going away for a while before joining Gracie.
In South America:
They next arrive in modern-day Paradise Falls in South America, where they spot some Blots hunting a giant, colorful, flightless female bird whom they save. The keyblade reacts in the bird’s presence, revealing her to hold Innocence, but the next artifact is a seemingly ordinary collar. The Blot hunters soon return for revenge, and Gracie and B.E.N. find themselves outnumbered until the grateful bird helps to drive their adversaries off. With the collar revealed to have a device that translates her thoughts, albeit into broken English, the bird, who introduces herself as “Kevin”, joins them on their quest.
In the Arabian Desert:
Arriving outside a Middle Eastern desert town in the distant past, the trio disguise themselves and begin their search for the keeper of Loyalty. They come across former thief Cassim fighting off ruffians, and help him drive them off. The keyblade reacts to Cassim’s parrot companion, Iago, but when asked to join the three, Iago refuses, not wanting to risk his life. The Blots meet up with the ruffians, and they team up to later ambush the group. Iago flees in a cowardly fashion, only to be stricken by conscience and return to use his artifact, a magical ring. Impressed, Cassim allows Iago to accompany Gracie’s group until the quest is completed.
In the Kingdom of Dreams:
The keyblade brings the quartet to the Kingdom of Dreams, where they discover that the artifacts can also transform Gracie’s companions into humans. They meet King Mickey, who informs them that the Blots have made their hideout in the Foothills of Ambiguity. He also names the four the “Dream Team”. As they make their way to the Blots’ lair, the Team encounter Sir Hiss, originally an anthropomorphic snake whom the Blots forcibly “drafted” and turned human to stop them. Wishing to return to his world and true shape, Hiss reluctantly fights the Team, but is defeated by Gracie. In response, Hiss decides to secretly help the Team on their quest. The Team attempts to disguise themselves in order to sabotage the Blot Chief, and learn his true identity: a jealous Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald becomes wise to their deception and orders them locked up, but Hiss breaks them out of the dungeon. After a chase, during which much of the Blots’ lair is destroyed, the five are confronted by Oswald in a mecha built by the Mad Doctor. In the ensuing fight, the Team is on the brink of defeat, but the timely arrival of Mickey and the Kingdom’s armies help them gain the upper hand. Oswald is defeated by Gracie, and Mickey reveals that he never forgot about his and Oswald’s bond, causing Oswald to have a change of heart. During the ensuing celebration, however, B.E.N. discovers that the Great Eraser is now headed for Earth. As everyone gets ready for battle, Yen Sid arrives and tells them that the artifacts have a hidden power, which will allow their wielders to fight the Great Eraser, before granting Hiss his own artifact, a magical staff. Together, the Team returns to Earth.
Back on Earth:
By now, the approaching Great Eraser has been sighted all over the world, causing global concern. The Team activates the secret magic, fusing with their artifacts and gaining superpowers, fairy wings and colorful outfits as a result. They fly up into space to battle the Great Eraser, which fights back with an army of space demons. However, the Team manages to clear a path for themselves to reach the Great Eraser, revealed to be the original Blot. They use all the power from the artifacts to launch a huge blast of rainbow light that destroys the Blot once and for all. The Team then finds themselves in another dimension, where the stars congratulate them for their heroism. After a heartfelt farewell, they are sent back to their respective worlds, as their artifacts are sent back to the Kingdom of Dreams. Sometime later, Gracie magically receives an enchanted smartphone-like device, which she uses to communicate with other members of the Dream Team.
In a post-credits scene, in 1920s New Orleans, Louis, a trumpet-playing alligator, notices a familiar golden bubble floating down from the sky, implying that the Dream Team may embark on another adventure.

I just watched that Once Upon a Studio short everybody keeps talking about(because I was already sad and I figured hey might as well) and CHRIST I don't even identify as a Disney fan but that thing FUCKED ME UP omfg. Wether I like the company or not, they've been a constant for me, y'know? Their shows and movies have always been a part of me, wether it's their shitty sit coms like Dog With a Blog or their masterpieces like Tangled, they've just always... been a thing. I cannot stress enough, I don't like the company. The execs rn are bigotted, the live action remakes are ass, other common complaints, but just... seeing all these characters I've practically grown up with, some of which have actually gotten me through really tough times(like the Tangled and Aladdin casts), was really- it was a lot. It was nostalgic, it was melancholic, it was familiar, it was my childhood. And I can't NOT get emotional over it(especially considering how horrible my mental health is rn omfg)
Also Iago getting a Single Line made me happy he's my favorite :) though I thought Barrett Leddy was his new official voice so idk what's up with him being played by some guy I don't remember the name of. They didn't use archived lines from Gottfried like they did for Genie and I assume other characters who's VAs have passed on so idk- how does replacing official VAs even work- Okay I'm rambling now I'll shut up...(also pls don't answer these questions they're all rhetorical skfnfkekfke I'll prolly just look it up later if I'm still curious /lh)

So here’s the cast list for the VRAINS dub. Sam Black is Kolter, Emily Cramer is Skye Zaizan, Daniel J. Edwards is Varis and Gore, and Barrett Leddy is Akira Zaizan.
So that leaves Michael Liscio Jr., Billy Bob Thompson, and Marc Thompson as the possible voices for Ai. The reason I doubt it being Michael and Marc is because they already played main characters in previous Yugioh series (Yuya Sakaki and Astral, respectively). Usually they let other actors take lead. The only exception was Greg Abbey, who did both Tristan Taylor (DM) and Yusei Fudo (5Ds).
WAIT A SECOND! If Jake Paque is playing Yusaku, why isn’t he on the cast list?!

What we know so far about the VRAINS dub:
- Sam Black will voice Akira Zaizen, Knight and Roboppy. (keeping the names) - Barrett Leddy will voice Koulter. (orig: Shoichi Kusanagi) - Daniel J. Edwards will voice Varus and Gore. (orig: Revolver and Go) - Mike Pollock will voice Gore’s Manager (orig: Go’s Manager) My opinion: It’s always funny to see which characters gets a name change and which not. I’m surprised that Akira won’t get a dub name, so Aoi will keep her family name for sure but what about her first name? Koulter for Kusanagi... I can see where the name comes from. (Kusanagi means ‘grass cutter/mower’ and Koulter probably derives from ‘coulter’ which is a cutting tool) I don’t know how to feel about Varus for Revolver though. And Gore for Go... maybe that derives from ogre but still: do we really need a character called Gore? Edit: apparently, Gore is a wrestling term (which fits Go) but I still think that’s kind of a strange name to give someone.

So I know all this info about the Vrains dub got dropped the other day but I wanted to wait to make sure everything was revealed all at once so I wouldn’t have to keep on making posts every five seconds. We might get some more info later in the day and I will try and give my thoughts about it if that does happen but for now, let’s talk about what we do know.
So Akira Zaizen is still Akira Zaizen in the dub. We still don’t know Aoi’s English name, if she does get a name change, but at least this confirms her last name. Kinda surprised they didn’t change Akira’s name but I’m not complaining.
Shoichi Kusanagi is now Koulter which is just making me ask a lot of unnecessary questions. Does he not have a last name now? Just Koulter? What about Jin? They are still going to be siblings but without last names now to show that fact? Okay...? As for the name change itself, it’s not the worse. I’m fine with localizing the names as long as they are something you would ACTUALLY name your child. Like would you actually name your child Gong for example? Or Zuzu?
Go is now Gore...seriously? They censored Revolver, as to be expected, but they changed Go to Gore? I know it is a wrestling term from what I’ve been hearing but normally, when someone says “gore” you would think of blood and  violence. Maybe that’s why Go is never around. They had to censored his existence with a name like that.
We also got Revolver’s name which is Varus now in Link Vrains. Who knows what they are going to change Ryoken to but that’s a future problem. I mean, we all knew his name was going to be changed but I wasn’t expecting Varus. I honestly was convinced they were just going to call him Rocket and call it a day. I’m glad that they didn’t because I actually really like the name Varus. I looked it up and it’s apparently “a deformity involving oblique displacement of part of a limb toward the midline” but even without the meaning, Varus just sounds so badass to me that I think it just fits.
And finally, it was confirmed that Knight, Roboppi, and Go’s manager are still keeping their names (well Go’s manager never had a name to begin with so I case he’s “Gore”s manager now (he had to find someone new to manage after Go went and got himself killed).
As for who’s voicing who, we have the following:
Barrett Leddy: Akira Zaizen
Sam Black: Koulter, Knight and Roboppi.
Daniel J Edwards: Varus and Gore (well have fun in the future when you get to murder yourself)
Mike Pollock: Gore’s manager.
And that’s about it for now. We are still waiting for Yusaku (Playmaker), Ai, Aoi (Blue Angel), Naoki, Spectre, and Bishop if we are just going to be knowing about everyone who appears in episode one. We could also be getting Emma (Ghost Girl) as well if we are getting all the important characters.
Yusaku is obvious going to stay the same along with Playmaker. I think Ai and the Ignises themselves are still going to be called that as well. I think Spectre will go back to being Specter and Bishop will still be Bishop.
Aoi I have no idea with her, same with Blue Angel. Naoki is going to change for sure, and Emma I’m for sure they are going to change the spelling of her name like they did with Selena for a stupid pun I bet (who knows about Ghost Girl though).
Overall, I’m fine with the changes so far. Gore the only one I truly think is kinda stupid but there’s always one of them. Also the last name thing with Koulter is going to continue to bug me but that honestly might just be me. I am looking forward to seeing how they are going to dub Vrains though because oh boy, there is going to be a LOT of changes I can say that much. If there isn’t, I’m going to be even more shocked.
