after saving the world from an alien attack they get this weird sort of fame from it- there’s a street in ohio named after clint and a festival in his home town that celebrates hawkeye, natasha gets invited to pose for the cover of 22 different magazines, captain america becomes a household name all over again, etc- and its just them dealing with this new fame and in the midst of it steve and tony think they fall in love but steve is so bellyfooted under cameras and papparazzi and all that he refuses to do anything about his feelings

#theres a street near me called barton road #and when i was first trying to learn the area that was the road easiest to remember #because clint barton #hehe #im funny ya see #and its kinda a backroadish but there was an accident on my usual route home from work so i had to go down bartob #and it made me think about like what if it was actually named after clint #and then like well yeah if they saved the world there damn well better be stuff named after them #thered be all sorts of stuff #iron man action figures would sell out on preorder basically #and walmart wouldnt be able to stock their captain america pajama bottoms fast enough #and itd be so weird for steve #who doesnt even know how to operate normally in this century let alone under the limelight #so he does his best and when tony starts to FLIRT he legitimately doesnt know what to do with himself #he thinks it might be an act- he doesnt know what to think #but then tony is just the same without the cameras #hes kind and generous and knows how to make steve laugh #but then steve thinks #oh no what will the press do if they find out #and he just doesnt know what to do #and that sucks because his feelings are Very Real and so are tonys #and it would all come to a head very emotionally one night when theyre both somehow in agreement #and theyre like yknow what fuck em #and so they get together and they make out and hold hands #and the bubbles all very nice until the other avengers find out and while theyre very supprtive #its also risky to have so many ears and mouths on the situation #and steve hates it really because he loves their bubble and he loves tony so much #but they also know that they need to get ahead of the press before the story breaks and they no longer have control #and so they come out to the world on a summythursday afternoon
