WIP Wednesday Whenever Weekend

(it's weekend again but you may ask me whenever also lol)

Twas tagged by @medusapelagia, twice, because i mentioned i was unavailable yesterday hehe

Here’s how it works:

In a reblog of this post or new thread, post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs

Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to play!

After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from, write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.

He knows that Eddie likes guys, which is great. However. Eddie doesn't seem to like Steve specifically. It makes sense, with the surface level differences. Steve looks like any old rich meathead jock, ready to be funneled from sports to working for his dad while Eddie is all tattoos and denim and chains, the type of guy people think could somehow end up being a violent monster no matter how kind he was.

🪞 — Do they enjoy being in Parabola? Why or why not? (berlin edition!) first answer was here, second was here. but specifically by the time of berlin?

Becoming Mr Bricks quite heavily limits how he can operate outside of London; being a Master lends a weight to even your presence. This goes double in Parabola, where its dreamlike nature makes it difficult for him to maintain the separation of personas that he can elsewhere.

It's not like this comes as a terrible tragedy to him, though; the less time he has to spend in Parabola, the better. This is just a good excuse to delegate that job!

🔥 — Least favourite Master of the Bazaar? (berlin edition!) first answer was here!

During the Neon Future specifically, it's still probably Iron – but he dislikes it less than he used to (if only because of prolongued exposure).

However, during the Sixth City his dislike for Iron was temporarily usurped by Mr Fires. The infighting between the Masters reaches a peak around the fall of Paris, and Fires (who was very much in favour of delaying the Sixth) is enraged and takes out its anger on the citizenry. Even though the Apologist is off being moody for this period, word still gets to him about this, and his opinion of Fires plummets.

The only reason Fires doesn't remain his least favourite is that it dies shortly after. (sorry fires-lovers)

🪪 — Have they gone by any other titles? Will they go by different ones in the future? I don't think I've answered this one yet! Okay, I'll go over them in order (with little explanations as to why, for each):

The Inquisitive Vandal — His title when he first enters the Neath: he's curious, with a penchant for graffiti.

The Infernal Vandal — When he is taken under the wing of devils. His criminal contacts and general lawless behaviour flourish around this time, too.

The Infernal Apologist — He starts to develop more of a persuasive bent; the Brass Embassy engineers for him to become a Crooked-Cross.

The Ravenous Apologist — NORTH

The Violant-Scrawling Apologist — This is when he becomes a Correspondent in earnest, as well as bucking off the designs that Hell has for him.

The Nostalgic Lightkeeper — During the (brief) reign of the Sixth City, the Apologist spends most of his time tending a lighthouse in melancholic solitude. He writes a lot of poetry, too.

Mr Bricks/The Bazaarine Apologist — After the disaster of a city that Paris turned out to be, the Masters take the Apologist on as an aide on human relations, as well as a cement (haha) for the group in general. He still maintains appearances as a human, though. "Bazaarine" was occasionally used for him during the Fifth City too, but now it becomes his most prominent title. He never seems to leave the place!

Mr Bricks/The Icarian Apologist — He isn't the first guy to fly towards the sun on handmade wings.
