if you had seen me the first time i watched this scene, you would have seen me pause the show, roll over, cry and have a walk around to recompose myself. bcuz i know every single queer person has had that thought.

cuz you see the news, where politicians are lobbying against our rights and very existence. you see other people around you, who give you weird looks and talk about you even while you're there. you see the massive lack of rep of us in media. especially true for trans people.

and there are plenty of times where it sucks. maybe you'll get denied a job because of your identity. maybe someone you held close is unaccepting. maybe there are times when you cry yourself to sleep.

but don't forget the better parts. don't forget the wonderful people you've met along the way. don't forget the things you've experienced. don't forget how through the hard times, you gained greater understanding and acceptance of others. you gained increased compassion and empathy.

and whenever you find yourself thinking: "Do you think it has to be torture? Being the way we are?" remember that no, it doesn't. there are bad times, sure, but there can be so much good.

even in the darkest hours, remember the light that follows.
