If ur playing the sidestep ask game, can I get 1, 3, and 12 for ur step?
Absolutely! :D Thank you so much for the questions! <3
what is their secret identity? do they have any nicknames? what is the meaning behind them?
Vendetta Frey (ne/they). c: Ven is the only nickname anyone outside of Anathema has gotten away it. Themmy used Venny and Vendi a lot. Ortega tried 'gummy bear' once (once) but that only got her the nickname of Jello in return, lol.
As for why, Vendetta was one of the first words they remember hearing and ne just loved the way it sounded. It was so pretty and melodic, and ne just really liked repeating the syllables over and over again to nemself. It's just special to nem, like the first spark of the inferno that would be nir future self. There was never gonna be another choice, as much as Vendetta also wishes ne picked something a bit less noticeable sometimes.
On the other hand, Frey is simply because Ven needed a last name, saw nir hoodie sleeve was fraying and was like 'sure sounds good :)!' lol.
3. what is their villain name? why did they choose it?
Ichor! \m/ Ah, Vendetta just really loves words that are just fun to say and a bit archaic too, which Ichor fits that bill perfectly. The number of hours ne spent pouring over words to find the one that just clicked right… :')
Ichor is also like the spicy fluid that is supposedly the blood of gods and immortals, so Vendetta does enjoy the cheeky-in-a-nerdy-way implications that ne isn't human and that ne is toxic to actual humans like ichor is supposed to be.
Ichor can also imply an infection, which I personally enjoy a lot, and probably why Vendetta keeps allowing trippy drippy glitchy static bs through their armor, ngl. Why fight it? It is a fun visual~~~
12. do they prefer to solve things diplomatically or through violence?
Vendetta's ruthless score is like ….18%, so I wanna say diplomatically?? Ne really doesn't enjoy violence for violence's sake (probably why ne ended up gravitating more towards being a thief, well-thought heists avoid people entirely).
Buuuuuuuut, sometimes you just have to bite people and/or slug them in the face to make a point stick and ne certainly isn't above that. Plus, violence is a faster solution a lot of the time. Like you could spend time talking to someone, or you could knock them out. It's simple and it's efficient. :)
It's probably a 50/50 split, entirely depending on the situation. ^^;;

What does happiness look like?
Includes: Kuroo
Genre: Angst, a tad of fluff
Warnings: cheating?
A/N: Mwuah Happy? What happy?
Tumblr media
Cold and trembling, he was submerged into the freezing water up to his collar bones. Head resting on the dull coloured wall tiles of his bathroom, kuroo stared aimlessly at the edge of his tub. Chapped lips and a bored gaze on his pale face that night. Why cant we just be happy? To be obliviously happy. What did happiness even look like anymore? Was he even worthy of happiness?
These questions constantly seep their way into his head and like the overthinker he was, he’d spend hours remaining in the cold water pondering on when he was every going to see the light again. Bathing for decency. As he stood up from his position, he sneaked a peek at the autumn sky in the small compact window on top of his bathroom. Though his body was telling him to quickly cover himself, he simply took his time wearing clothes, still dazed. The moaning and groaning of his stomach, though not new, did not fell into deaf ears as he had thought to walked over to the local ramen shop to get something to eat. It wasn’t foreign for him to feel that as he had been doing that for a while. Eating just to survive. He pockets his keys and looks over at the jersey he was supposedly proud of. Framed with a picture of his previous volleyball team beside it. The smile he has on his face with the sweat dripping down his brow. Staying alive just for the sake of being alive.
What face will he make when he sees what happiness looks like again? The clicking of the door echoed telling him that he could go already. Once again taking his time, he admired the view of the night all the while not noticing the fumbling bike about to crash at him. In a swift moment he had barely moved aside as the bike had coming crashing into the pile of garbage cans. The loud crash scaring the kittens that have been concealing themselves using the bins and bags. “Im fi-hay-ne” she slurs through her loud announcement of her state while trying to pick herself up from the rubble.
“I wasn’t asking-“ “Well that’s mean! Didn’t your mother teach you to help those who needed it?” She banters while patting herself to rid of the dirt, though that did nothing to the stench that she now had on her. “You dont seem like you need help though...” his voice was in between a low growl and mumble. “Ha?! Look at this boy! Not even helping a lady! Who raised you?” She starts grumbling, picking up her bike and trying to get back on, ultimately failing. The night was so dark that only the light post was illuminating the way, looking at the ill mannered girl, he had finally gotten a good look of her face.
Scrunched up nose with stars for eyes, clearly scratched and a bit of filth layed on her soft cheeks. Her brows furrowed to the center and sweat glistening on her forehead. Cutting through his admiring thoughts” Then let me help you. My apartment is near by” he utters, seemingly regretting this but accepting the situation when she turns to him with a toothy grin and runs close him.
She smelled of garbage and oil, amusing him though she starts rambling about her day.
Wow she actually thinks I care...Hmmm...when will she even stop talking? At least she’s not awkward, I guess? What is she even talking about? “-So there I was right? He was trying to talk me into letting him eat me while I was on my period. Calling me his little ketchup packet-“ “HAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT?!” A hyena like laughter emits from his lips. When was the last time he even laughed like this? His grabbed onto his sides and cackled the night away. The night, the moment he looked at her...
His eyes relaxed and a small smile to his dry lips, that was the face he had when he had finally seen what happiness looked like again.
The face he had made everyday since then.
Tumblr media
“Tetsu! Look at the kitten mugs! We should get some! It looks great!” “Y/N, we dont need-“ “LOOK! They even have nekoma themed mugs! And fukurodani ones! These are great! Did you know I actually went to fukurodani?” Her blabber was a tune that was constantly stuck to his head now. Watching her bring the mugs to the counter, he quickly hands his card to the register without her protest...well up until “I could have handled that yknow?” Another one of her famous complaints. Who knew happiness was a small woman in an old jacket and was as aggressive as a chihuahua?
“Fine, then you can buy the tea, kitten?” The raven offered as she feels her cheeks grow warm at the nickname. “Of course Im paying for tea, idiot!” Hurriedly grabbing her shopping bag and walking to the entrance that kuroo had opened for her. Walking side by side while munching on the weird convenience store they had both decided on.
“I like these! We should buy more next time, no?” Gasping at the delicious snack.
“Make yourself at home...” “Will do, sir~” she enters his apartment so casually and places the mugs down. Plopping down on her, self-proclaimed, spot while the rooster haired male had set up his kitchen for some tea she sets up the show they were going to watch. Spotting some packets of convenience store food, the smaller girl stared at them and started arising from her seat.
Kuroo felt small arms wrap around his waist and a cheek to his back. “Tetsu...” “Yes, kitten?” Replying with a teasing voice however regretting it as soon the male realizes what was happening. “I told you not to eat convenience store food anymore!” She scolds. Sigh It was a sight to behold. A 6ft tall man saying sorry to a smaller female, who was not even his lover, scolding him of not taking better care of himself. Though after all has been said and done she brings him to a cuddle on the couch. “Im just scolding you because I lov- ehem I..aughh I mean be-cause... you aren’t taking care of yourself again...you idiot” The last part sounding almost like a whisper. He was safe, content and most of all happy.
Recalling the questions he once had in his head.
Who knew happiness looked like her? An aggressive small girl who was way too confident.
A certain warm light to her eyes. Brow always dripping with sweat. She was fierce and weirdly competitive in things that don’t really matter.
‘Who could eat the most mochi?’ ‘Who could finish their tea first?’ Most of which the former captain would entertain. Happiness looked like her whenever she would run after the birds at the park and giggle at their “Cowardice” to face her.
Happiness sounded like her odd stories and her voice shouting at the store owner to haggle with her. She was happiness. She was his happiness.
He knew in himself that he liked her of course. Through his ups and downs they were together. The convincing him to go to classes. Y/N constantly riding up to his apartment just so she made sure he would actually go. Her constant “Good morning”...the...
“Tetsu, come on. It’s a great day to go to do something after classes!”
“OI! WHAT ARE YOU EATING?! You think rice is cheap? Ha?! Eat the food I made! No more instant noodles!”
“It’s okay. Let it all out. Im here. Your feelings are valid, okay?”
“Hey tetsu, I bought some Grilled Salted Mackerel pike!”
Until it became...
“Kitten! Let’s go to the beach!”
“Hey! Eat your food! It’ll get cold yknow?”
“Chibi-chan! You can’t even catch up!”
“Do you need help with that one? Here you do it like this...”
“Y/N, kenma said we’re meeting up at the cafe near the station. Wanna get ready at 10?”
“Hey shut the fuck up! She can wear whatever she wants. You’re just a pervert if you think you’re allowed to cat call her just for wearing clothes, ass hole”
Coming back to his younger, more passionate self. The happiest and the best version of himself, he thought that through this he was at least worthy and deserving of being loved by her.
However not everything is perfect. There were days where Y/N couldn’t even stop by. She was tired and she needed to rest for herself. Kuroo understand that but lately she was a bit too busy.
Was she busy? He wouldn’t have doubter her if...he hadnt..He saw her walking out of campus with a guy that day. More specifically the school’s counseling president.. She was so nice. Nice to everyone. Even to people like that. She was even nice to him. Him. He wasn’t even anybody. He was nothing and she was everything. He hated to think about it but...Maybe she just did that out of pity. She’s so nice that she would do that. Who was he?
Who was he to be important? He wasn’t a president of anything. He was just himself. Was he even worthy enough that she takes care of him to such an extent? What could he do for her though?
The sudden creak of the door alerts him, his sharp eyes meet Y/N’s frame holding a bouquet of flowers. “Oh hey can you help with these? The guys at the committee bought them for me as thanks but I honestly like gardens more hahaha Still sweet though” Taking off her shoes and handing him the big bouquet of red to pink roses. He could have done much better. She didn’t even like their stupid bouquet.
“There’s a green house tea house thing close to my university. Wanna go then? I mean Im going to be dropping some stuff off at my locker so-“ “Really?! Sure!” An excited squeal came from her lips while she stepped in and occupied the majority of the couch in a deflated or one might say tired pose.
“Please pick from our flower charms!” The host to the tea shop announcing enthusiastically at the duo. Normally the two would have picked different flowers however captivated by certain flowers with bright pink petals that point to the sky. Cyclamens with small papers which read “Fight for your love”.
Just like fortune cookies.
Well what do you know? Passionate love then? What a coincidence due to the situation. To fight for your love.
Being seated at their booth, both had looked around the place. Clumsily piled high with beautiful plants and the sun light almost seemed too perfectly placed. Y/N looked as if she belonged there. With the flora decorating her, one would have considered her a fairy. “You look...N-nice...kitten” stuttering to even find the right things to say.
Under the table...
She had gently inched her small fingertips to touch his calloused ones. Holding at least a portion of her hand. Soft ,comforting and happy. When the tea had arrived Kuroo had only taken a small sip until he rejected the floral drink completely. “You know Chrysanthemums actually means Loyalty and patience? It’s really cool!” With the tea’s edge to her slightly parted lips, the young female had taken a quiet sip.
She enjoys the date with her hand completely clasped in his under the table. Shoulders touching and giggling at whatever kuroo was showing her on his phone. It was literal paradise. Beautiful flora, wonderful food and amazing her. It was perfection in a moment. The sun’s afternoon light striped through her hair and a portion of her cheek. Magic.
It was all until she had started squirming and gripping his hand tighter. “T-tesu...I ughh...I like someone. It’s this guy and...he...I think he might be the one, tetsu! He buys tea with me and holds me like Im home...”
So he was right. He was correct this time. He was so used to being wrong that right now being right felt like a punishment. Tetsuro though that he was the only one who he did those things with. So right and so wrong at the same time.
The little glimmer of happiness in him slightly fading.
He was just there because she pitied him.
He hated it but he didn’t say that, he couldn’t. He had his signature grin on as he knuckles her hair he says something along the lines of “You! You’re going to scare him off! Hahaha! You’re so stubborn too, chibi-chan!”
The laughter was sweet as the tea he had refused to drink. A few moments later the male had left saying that he had to relieve himself though he barely drank anything.
Tumblr media
1: 02 PM
3: 27 PM
“Miss, would you like me to sit with-“ “Oh? Oh! No! Sorry! Im actually with someone. Im just waiting for him”
“Oh sorry! I thought you were alone”
6: 12 PM
8: 45 PM
“Umm...miss, we’re actually going to close now”
...
“Hello? Tetsu-“ “This number cannot be reached. Please try again-“
“UGH! I am so kicking his ass when I see him! Ditching me like that!...” Shuffling to gather her things and hurriedly asking for the bill. She leaves the moment she’s cleared and in search of the rooster head male.
Meanwhile the male was in the library ever since. Trying to simply clear his head. Trying to understand what had just happened. Recalling the exact moment that you weren’t his anymore. When a woman in a skimpy outfit had cat called him when he was about to leave. Something about how he looked well hung. Livid, he grabbed her to the side which she obliged in.
This was wrong.
Though why would he care? He was always wrong. The one moment where he was correct he was also wrong. He clenched his fist and forcibly bit his lips.
He was cringing at all of this. Y/N was supposed to be his and yet...She had to choose...and she chose someone who deserved her love.
The disgusting moans of the woman he was making out with at the alley way. Hungry, disgusted and furious. His touches were rough and almost hurting her.
Again, why would he care? Y/N didn’t even like him! He was only taken care of out of pity! He was nothing! All he was...was wrong.
Empty and wrong.
He took it all out on the innocent girl’s cunt. Kuroo called out for her. Her nickname.
Grasping and groaning ‘kitten’. Balls deep in this bitch he picked up from the street when his phone started ringing.
The light of his screen illuminating them.
On the other side of this though...Y/N was walking to his apartment to see if he was there. Also just as livid. Tear stained. Her mascara smudged. No longer looking like a fresh flower. A wilted yellow carnation to her hair while her hands fumbled with her phone. She felt betrayed. She felt useless. It took so much for her to even confess! She had to time everything! To the hand holding and intimate touches.
Even rejecting the council president because of him!
He was a jerk! Why would he even invite her to a date if he was just going to ditch her?
Was she the one in the wrong this time though? Did he even like her? Why would he just invite her?
Did she misunderstand? Were they just friends?...
Finally confessing to him and he just-...mid step. Her head just momentarily looking to the side, to the alleyway. When a familiar figure was illuminated by a screen’s light in his pocket. A familiar figure with a familiar ring tone in a foreign situation. The flower on her hair dropping to her worn out shoes.
It was like a blink. Like a flicker of the light. It was at least just 2 seconds when she saw it.
There he was. Frustrated, grinning, calling out for his ‘kitten’ and balls deep in a girl she has never even seen before.

Beautifully Unfinished - M.L. Chapter 1
Tumblr media
If you had asked Lexie how she had gotten to this point, she wouldn’t know what to tell you. She couldn’t quite tell you how she had gotten to where she was right now. How her life had changed so much in the last year. She couldn’t tell you how her best friend became her best friend.
Lexie and Johnny had met online and the rest was history. When she had posted a comment on one of Johnny’s Instagram posts, she never thought that he would respond to her, let alone that they would start DMing and have real conversations. They went from hearing from each other every few days over Instagram, to them texting each other all day every day. They told each other everything and within two months, Lexie knew that she could call Johnny her best friend. She hadn’t been that close with anyone in a long time, and having him in her life meant everything to her.
Lexie knew that Johnny was going to be calling her a bit later than he normally would because he had a dance practice first thing in the morning. Typically, when he had dance practice first thing in the morning, he would call Lexie when he woke up and was getting ready. However, thanks to the time difference between South Korea and Utah, if Johnny were to call Lexie at 5 in the morning for him, it would be 2 PM for her. Lexie would be in the middle of her workday and they both made sure not to bug each other when they were working.
It is now 2 AM for Lexie and Johnny has finished his work for the day, but she is more than happy to wait and talk with him before going to sleep for the night. Lexie is sitting in her bed, leaning back against her headboard reading a book to keep herself awake when her phone goes off, pausing her music. She picked up her phone and Jonny was FaceTiming her. She put her bookmark in her book and answered the call.
“Very rude of you to FaceTime me at 2 in the morning. It’s like you don’t care that I look like garbage,” Lexie said when the call connected. “It’s like you don’t care for me at all.”
“Oh fuck off,” Johnny exclaimed. “You know damn well that even if we were FaceTiming right when you got off work you would look exactly like that.” He started chuckling as he walked into his dorm room and threw his keys on the table.
Lexie glared at him for a few seconds and then started smirking. “Just because that is a true statement, doesn’t mean that I have to agree with it. You look like a runway model literally every second of every day. Your opinion doesn’t count.”
“Yeah, whatever. You missed me, just admit it.” Johnny had a point. There wasn’t a day that went by that Lexie didn’t miss Johnny.
“Of course, I did,” Lexie said smiling. “You know I can’t go a day without talking with my best friend. Not how it works.”
“Very true. Anyway, how was your day? You mentioned that you had a meeting this afternoon. How did that go?” Johnny walked into his room, closing the door quietly as to not disturb his bandmates.
“Oh you know, the usual. I got yelled at because my team doesn’t think it's important to actually do their job. Pretty much the same thing that happens at every meeting. I love my job,” Lexie said sarcastically with a smile on her face.
Lexie was a supervisor in the customer service department of a pretty well-known company in Utah. She was in charge of managing 25 people and for the most part, her team worked very hard, but there were a few of them that she referred to as her problem children. She spent most of her day getting yelled at by customers or managers and, if you have worked customer service for any amount of time, you understand how she was feeling. It had been 3 years and she was slowly losing her mind. Sometimes, her day would be so hectic and crazy, never getting to slow down, and the only thing that would give her a few moments of peace was when she was talking to Johnny.
Johnny shook his head before responding. “Why do you put up with that? You work your ass off and they don’t care because of a few bad eggs.”
“I don’t have a choice, Johnny. I need the job. It’s not great, and the money’s not bad.” It’s true. While the job isn’t her favorite, she makes has a roof over her head and food in the fridge. “I think I just need a nice long break and I’ll be right as rain.’
“You do! Why can't you take like a month off? You told me that you have enough PTO to cover it.”
“I want to Johnny, I really do. It's just, I don’t know. You know how I feel about not working. I hate putting my work on other people.”
“If you decide to take a break, they can deal with it.” Johnny was more set on Lexie taking a break than she was. Every few weeks, he would bring it up and put the idea in her head. “You deserve to be able to take a break.”
“I know. I'll think about it, ok?” Johnny seemed to take that, and they continued with their conversation like normal.
At one point in their conversation, Lexie rolled over onto her side and propped her phone against her book so it would say upright. She knew that she should go to sleep because she had to be up for work in a few hours, but talking to Johnny while he was available was worth it.
They were on the phone until it was almost 4 AM for Lexie and her eyes were starting to droop. She wanted to keep the conversation going for as long as possible, but Johnny could tell that she was going to fall asleep soon. She was just mumbling on, continuing their conversation and Johnny just sat there smiling at her as she tried to keep herself awake.
"Lexie?” He said trying to get her attention. She made a small noise of acknowledgment in return. “Go to bed. We can talk more tomorrow.”
“I’m ok,” she muttered, rubbing her eye. “I’m totally fine.” She covered her mouth as she let out a huge yawn.
“You’ve been half asleep on me for the last half an hour. You can go to bed. I’ll make sure to call you earlier tomorrow so you aren’t up so late.”
Lexie stared at him for a few seconds before nodding. “Yeah, sleep is probably a good idea. I just missed you.”
“I know. I missed you too. I always miss you. But I think your boss will personally come to Korea and kill me if you fall asleep at work. He already doesn’t like me.”
“He just doesn’t like you because you tried calling me during that meeting. You didn’t know that I was going to be staying late that night. He’s an asshole anyway.” While Johnny laughed, Lexie sat up in bed and started stretching her arms above her head. She picked back up her phone to say goodbye. “I’m going to try leaving work early tomorrow, so call me whenever you want. It’s a day full of meetings and then I’ll be done.”
“Alright, I’ll text you before I call you tomorrow to make sure you aren’t still at work. Go to sleep, and I’ll talk to you tomorrow ok?”
Lexie nodded and rubbed her eyes. “Sounds perfect. You get some rest, you had a long day. Night Johnny.” Lexie was about to hang up the FaceTime when Johnny spoke up.
“Hey Lexie, before you go. I have something to ask. I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks but it never felt right.”
“What’s up, Johnny?” Lexie asked, her interest piqued.
“Get time off of work and come to Korea.”

Either way you choose, once that deck is torn down, the real trick then will be disposing of it. Disposing of an old deck is where Omaha Junk Removal Crew comes in and where we shine.  More About Decking Removal Omaha
When you hire Omaha Junk Removal Crew to manage your old decking removal needs your job is  virtually done. All you have to do as a customer, is kick back in your seat, sip on some ice-cold sweat tea, and point out what it is you want gone. Then we take care of the rest.
Be careful trying to remove old decking by yourself, because it can be dangerous. If you decide to remove your old decking yourself, make sure you are extra careful when handling the deck boards because they are usually filled with old nails. The nails in decking are usually longer, and contain rust because of the age. If I were you, I would just leave a job like this up to the pros.
Just give Omaha a call, and let us manage all your old decking removal needs today.

NFL Week 3
Takes on this week's games, including my thoughts on players and game lines.
LAR (-2.5) @ SF
- Sean McVay has this offense looking miles ahead of what they looked like last year. Todd Gurley has been more involved in the passing game which has helped his poor run game efficiency, I think he will have another solid game, Chris Carson just went for almost 100yds on 20 carries. Kyle Shannahan has rejuvenated and worked wonders on this run game, and Carlos Hyde has been a man reborn. They kept it extremely close with Seattle and I see it being close against the Rams too, but I think the Rams take it.
BAL (-3.5) @ JAX
- The Ravens defense has looked like the real deal. I know they played the Bengals and Browns, 2 suspect offenses, but they looked stout. When Jaguars offense has to put the ball in the air I don’t like their chances... Blake Bortles is terrible. Javorius Allen is a safe play, he is playing a lot of snaps and getting used in both the passing and running game. If you have Leonard Fournette you are playing him, but I wouldn’t feel good about it. I expect the Ravens to take this game by stacking the box to limit Fournette and making Bortles beat them which I doubt happens.
ATL (-3.0) @ DET
- This matchup has me very interested. You have both teams coming in at 2-0, one being a preseason Super Bowl Contender, and one not being taken very seriously. The Big 3 from Atlanta all should be safe bets to produce, but I like Austin Hooper in this matchup a lot if you have to stream a TE in fantasy. Stafford looked very good on Monday against the Giants and now he faces the Falcons D who will be missing Vic Beasley (their best player). I think he has another big game and that Golden Tate will be the main beneficiary of it. I think the Lions surprise a lot of people and take this game at home.
CLE (-1.5) @ IND
- I can’t remember the last time the Browns were a road favorite but that is what the Colts roster is without Andrew Luck. The Colts have been surprisingly good vs the run this year but that might be because everyone is exposing their pass D. Crowell is more of a floor play, Kizer should bounce back from his tough matchup vs the Ravens. I wouldn't feel good playing anyone on the Colts roster except Jack Doyle, but again I’d avoid the entire offense without luck. That being said... I like the colts here. This is going to be the 3rd week without Luck, they looked a lot better last week vs Arizona, and they are at home.
DEN (-3.0) @ BUF
- Denver absolutely destroyed my Cowboys last week. That defense is as good as its ever been and look for them to expose this struggling Bills O. Siemian has been on fire, and while I don’t think it will continue for the whole year I think he can keep it up for one more week. I like CJ Anderson again this week, and I prefer Sanders to DT. I expect the BIlls to come out and try to run the ball to try and bleed the clock and keep it close, meaning Mccoy might be the only player you can play. I like Denver to take it, I don’t think the Bills score more than 13 points against this D.
HOU (+13.5) @ NE
- The line is heavily in the Pats favor and for good reason, Belichick just doesn’t lose to rookie Qb’s very often. Lamar Miller is splitting time with Foreman, Watson doesn’t look very good and will be in tough this week, Hopkins is getting peppered with targets and is the only player I’d feel decent about playing. I know the Texans have an elite D but Tom Brady is a start against anyone, Gilislee is looking good for a TD any time inside the 5 and the Pats may be running out the clock early this game. Gronk, Hogan, Amendola all look like decent options given their health status, Cooks might be the only healthy WR on the team, start him. 13.5 is a lot to cover, but I’ll take the Pats at home against the rookie QB.
MIA (-6.5) @ NYJ
- The Jets don’t look very good, as expected. Miami looked like a run-heavy team in the one game we’ve seen, Ajayi is going to have another big game, and Landry should eat in the short passing game. Kearse is perhaps the only player on the Jets to put up decent stats just because he will get targets. The Dolphins do not have an elite D so this game could be closer than people expect. They want to run A LOT, and that means clock will disappear quick, keeping the game low scoring. I think the Dolphins win, but Jets cover.
NO (+5.5) @ CAR
- The Saints defense is terrible, what else is new. Start Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin is always a boom or bust type WR but Cam has to throw to someone. I think this is the game we see McCaffery have a big stat line too. Brees has never been a great road Qb, but this is a warm-weather game, and I think he will be fine. Ingram is the RB I’d want out of the Saints backfield. This is the first real test for this Panthers D, and the Saints can’t afford to go 0-3, I think they come out playing fast and pull off the upset in a tight divisional game.
NYG (+6.0) @ PHI
- After seeing this Giants team the last two weeks I have been so happy as a Cowboys fan. The offense is garbage without a healthy OBJ. Eli looks washed, there is no run game, and that Oline... With all that, I didn’t think they’d be +6 in this divisional game. Carson Wentz has looked good but also has thrown a lot of risky balls. if Janoris Jenkins plays and this D is healthy I think they get 2 INT’s. The Philly Dline will eat up this Giants O if Odell isn’t his other-worldly self.  I think this game will be low scoring and a lot closer than other people expect. Giants to cover.
PIT (-7.0) @ CHI
- Pit has looked good, the Bears have not. People saw them get smoked by the Bucs but forget they were a Jordan Howard dropped pass away from beating the Falcons at home. Start Antonio if you have him, but I wouldn't expect a huge stat line. Bell will have a big game, he will get his 1st Td of the year. Sometime soon we will see Trubisky because Glennon does not look like a starting NFL Qb, Jordan Howard is banged up but he already was splitting snaps with Tarik Cohen, who I think has another decent day. Both teams will want to run the ball and I think that helps the Bears keep it close. Ben has had issues on the road and I think that trend continues, with the Bears covering.
TB @ MIN
- There is no line for this game yet due to the questions around Sam Bradford. Him playing changes this whole offense, so I don’t know how to feel about this game yet. Mike Evans will draw Rhodes all game long, if you have another decent option it wouldn’t be crazy to not start him.
SEA (+2.5) @ TEN
- A lot of people are writing off the hawks, I’m not. This team always starts slow, they lost to the lowly Rams last year (9-6). I don’t expect them to be a whole lot better than they were last week, but they have kept games close and kept them competitive. The Titans most likely won’t have Demarco or rookie Corey Davis, and I am a fan of Mariota, but Earl Thomas plays like no other safety in the league. Derrick Henry would be a must-start if Murray doesn’t play, as the Hawks have been a bit suspect against the run so far. Chris Carson looks like the guy in that run game, and Doug Baldwin is Wilson’s go-to WR.  The Titans O should reel back from the 37pts they scored last week against this top tier D. I like the Hawks to win.
CIN (+8.5) @ GB
- Alright so Aaron Rodgers is the best Qb in the league, and Andy Dalton... is not. That Bengals offense has looked horrid, the only player I would start is AJ Green. The Packers secondary is not good and I think the Bengals trail a lot in this game = passing attempts. The Bengals pass D is good but they also haven’t played an offense of GB’s caliber so far. Jordy Nelson looks like he will play and TyMont should have another good week. I don’t see the Bengals scoring at a pace near what the Packers are capable of scoring at, Packers cover.
KC (-3.0) @ LAC
- Kareen Hunt looks unreal and I think he keeps it up. Andy Reid has a good track record RB’s (Westbrook, Mccoy, Charles) and Hunt was a hand-picked player. I think he will be in a lot of top-5 RB rankings for the rest of the year. Tyreek Hill looks like a more polished WR than we saw last year and Kelce is a start every week. The Chargers seem to always seem to find a way to lose. Rivers will be in tough this week as Marcus Peters will take away one-half of the field and with the run game not being very efficient, the KC pass rush will be flying. Keenan Allen looks healthy and is playing well, he should get moved around a lot and avoid Peters quite a bit. Melvin Gordon looks like the same player as last year, lots of touches, not very efficient, but consistent in fantasy. If Verrett doesn't play in this matchup I like the Chiefs, even more, Gimme KC.
OAK (-3.0) @ WAS
- Washington has not looked as good as the team last year. Maybe that’s due to Sean McVay leaving but this offense gives me pause. If Jordan Reed plays I think he is the best pass catcher in that offense this week. The run game is up in the air with the Rob Kelly injury. Oakland struggled a little bit with the Jets and that could carry over on the road vs Washington. Carr is a good Qb, I’m not as enamored with him as most people, but I think he will have another solid outing. This Washington team struggled against Todd Gurley last week and now face a top end Oline and a young looking Marshawn Lynch. I think Lynch and the duo of Richard & Washington have a solid performance. I’d expect to see Norman play on Cooper but it’ll be worth monitoring who he covers. Under the radar play is Jared Cook, he should expose a weak LB core. I think this game is close, not confident but I think the Raiders take it by 4.
DAL (-3.0) @ ARZ
- The Cowboys got beat from start to finish by the Broncos. On Offense, Defense, Coaching, in every aspect of the game they looked overmatched. Zeke had his worst statistical game ever as a pro and I do not think that will happen again. That Oline will look to maul everyone and Zeke should bounce back after being scrutinized for “quitting on the team”. There is always that Angry Brady narrative, I like this week as an Angry Zeke week. Witten looks like Dak’s safety blanket on third down and in the red zone, that could be big this week because.... Dez gets Patrick Peterson. Dez has struggled against Elite CB’s and in my opinion, Patrick Peterson is the toughest corner Dez will have to go up against all year. He is big, super fast, has long arms, and plays physical. He is a physical corner that I don’t see getting bullied by Dez. Dak needs to bounce back from the poor showing last week and I think he will. Carson Palmer needs a clean pocket and if he gets it he will dissect this defense. The issue is I’m not sure he will consistently get it. Demarcus Lawrence is tied for the NFL lead in sacks right now and I see him being disruptive again. JJ Nelson could have a big game, again, against this shaky secondary. Fitz working out of the slot against rookie Jourdan Lewis will be interesting. I like Lewis but he has missed almost all of training camp and just saw his first action last week. Don’t expect too much from the run game but I prefer Chris Johnson. I think Dallas takes this 24-20 in a back and forth game, where the winner is decided late.
Side note - If you haven’t yet watched a CBS game where Tony Romo is commentating, I highly recommend you tune in this weekend. As a huge Romo fan I was hoping he’d do well as a broadcaster, but I had no idea he would be this good. He gives insight to a degree nobody else has even come close (youtube him predicting plays in TENvsOAK, or breaking down why Bill Belichick ran a certain defensive play). He has been getting a lot of love by NFL watchers on twitter and I expect it to continue.
