I think probably one of my favourite things with Diath and Evelyn is how they each have the speech pattern that you would expect the other to have

THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS VERY IMPORTANT#AND THEIR SPEECH PATTERNS ARE ONE OF THE VERY FASCINATING ONES#because the noble-born temple-raised paladin is running around dropping 'y'all's and calling her parents 'Mama' and 'Papa'#and the street urchin who dragged himself out of the gutter is walking around with Incredibly Formal Speech Patterns#and all evidence points to him having called Ashton 'Father'#which is really the inverse of what you'd expect. and I LOVE IT#I have other thoughts about Diath's speech patterns but they're less related to his relationship with Evelyn#and more connected to headcanons that I have about his neurotype
