Chapter 9 Part 7: Collecting Our Reward
Last time, Tana was suffering from only having access to a steel lance, so here we do a quick trade to get her an iron lance.
Tumblr media
And then we start clearing out guys in the way to the throne room, and Franz finishes off the sword guy with the killer sword.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again with the HP and luck only level ups!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here's Tana in action! Go Tana!
Tumblr media
Colm opens another chest, and it has--I believe in English it's called--an Ocean Seal.
The seal has a totally different name in Japanese. I had to look the word up, and it appears that it has its origins in a word from the Spring and Autumn period in China. It's a word to refer to powerful people who are powerful because of their skills, not just from inherited birthright. Or something. It looks like it can be used in horse racing for a winning horse too??
At any rate, it's a class change seal that is only for thieves and pirates.
As you can see, Colm is still level 2, and I haven't even been trying to put him into combat, so this is Ross's seal.
Tumblr media
I also send Franz over here so he can taxi Colm all the way over to the left where there is still one more chest.
Tumblr media
Artur was supposed to soften this guy up for Tana, but he just decides to crit instead.
Again, we can see the magic weapon triangle here. It's not super meaningful, is it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here's the range for the archer, and the armor's range overlaps perfectly.
The archer has a short bow, which is like the slim sword / slim lance of bows. It's weaker and lighter than an iron bow, but it has 10% crit built in.
More interesting is the lance the armor has. It's green, so he's going to drop it. And it's an Axe Buster! (I think they're called Axe Reavers in English.) It reverses the weapon triangle. So it's weak to swords and strong against axes, unlike most lances. And the effects are doubled too, so instead of just +1 attack and +15 hit, that's +2 attack and +30 hit!
I actually really like the reaver weapons in the GBA games. They're fun to use when you get them, especially since they can open up combat options for units who only have one weapon type. And the absurd hit rates they create feel powerful and fun. But they're also a cool, nasty surprise when they're on enemies if the player is the type to often forget to check enemy inventories. (It's me. I'm the player who often forgets to look at enemy inventories.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I trade the heavy lance to Kyle and leave him in range.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He gets the axe reaver, and then takes all of 0 damage from the archer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Kyle is slow, I use him to set up a kill for Tana.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we're almost done with enemies who are not the boss. I put Vanessa in range of this last sword guy, and Lute hangs out next to her to study pegasus movement patterns.
In the past, Lute has often found it interesting to engage in monk observation, but recently, she has also felt an increasing interest in observing the behavior patterns of pegasus riders. Logically, it makes sense for her to stay near Vanessa in order to continue her studies.
Tumblr media
I also make sure to trade the axe reaver to Ephraim. Why? Well, the boss only has axes!
The boss also drops a weapon. He starts with his iron axe equipped, which means he'll drop the killer axe that he's holding.
I definitely want the killer axe, so it's important to either kill the boss in one turn, or to never leave anyone in one range of him. If someone is standing next to him, he'll probably switch to the killer axe to attack that person, and not only might they get becritted, it also means that he'll drop the iron axe upon defeat instead.
In these situations where enemies have two weapons and drop one upon death, they always drop the one that is not equipped, and you can manipulate which weapon you get by defeating them before they switch, or in other cases, leaving units in range to encourage them to switch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After enemy phase, I have Lute first remove the sword dude.
Tumblr media
Then I trade a javelin to Tana. I do this because she's one space too far away to attack the monk with a 1-range weapon.
I'm rewarded for my efforts when she gets a level up that includes both strength and speed.
Tana has all-around higher growth rates than Vanessa, in particular, she has 45% strength growth instead of 35%. Vanessa gets the advantage of joining earlier and being around longer, but Tana is more likely to get strong fast.

Yes, love yourself. But also analyze and be critical of how you think, act and behave. Self-love without self-awareness is useless. Be accountable. 🙃🌻

SIGNIFICANT VIDEO AGAINST CYBERBULLYING
(06/05/2021) - Service and creativity
Last week, three classmates and I participated in a contest that Educaixa gave us for having been selected for the video that we made a month or so ago (it is explained in another activity). To do this, we skipped 3 days of school to participate in a virtual campus, since, if it had not been for the covid, we would have gone to Barcelona. The work consisted of us becoming agents of change, that is, people who suggest new innovation projects to end with a problem. On the campus we received several talks; some of the examples of improvement was Maitane Rodríguez, who told the story of her machine to preserve food or Filosofers, a very interesting instagrammer. In addition, there were talks on how to communicate, in which they gave us good advice to apply to video.
Our change had to do with techno addictions, and then we focused on cyberbullying. We think that it is something that must be taken into account and that the younger generations have to learn that it is not done. Since, with the pandemic, the use of mobile phones has increased and therefore, virtual insults as well. We cannot yet share the video because it is being processed for the contest, but the purpose is to share it with #dependsonyou (in spanish: #dependedeti) we created. The images below show how we work by pointing out the most important things on post-its and with an informative poster about what the video is about. The poster was made by me because I really like graphic design and it entertains me.
I would like to repeat this experience since I have learned a lot and I had a good time.
Also I have to be grateful to Tere, who helped us with this.

The most important three words that I’ve learned at CTN 2017 were “Be sincere”, “Be genuine”, and “Be consistent.” I’ve heard many artists saying “It’s a Magic!” Lol. Definitely, there are a lot of inspiration going on there. #besincere #begenuine #beconsistent #becritical #magic #draftsmanship #beindependent #ctnanimationexpo2017

i think the only people who can be objective about batso are people who hate him, bc batfandom can´t becritical enough to see how much this character has been fladerized in the last years. Its ridiculous to see him being made infallible, irresistible to all the women, smarter and richer than like Ted Kord, Ray Palmer, etc. Beside that he is superman´s "bff" but treat him like an enemy or doormat, is abusive to the kids in his care(bc you know he is tramatized). I like him but im tired.
All those "qualities" we, people who dislike Batso, see as negative, are the reason bat fans love him so much.
A lot of self insertion there: it's clear they would love being that way: rich, powerful, invincible, cool and treating other people like crap, friend or foe.

The (re) evolution of the new generations
Tumblr media
The “la Caixa” Foundation presents the award-winning projects in the EduCaixa Challenge 2021, which proposes that young people become the new agents of social change. The concerns of digital natives are translated into benefits.
Confinement, teleworking and abuse of sugar and flour in home baking. Who would not feel  related? With this starting point, Cayetana, Candela and Sara, three students from the El Burgo de Las Rozas institute (Madrid), present in a video their Kasha project, an online platform that could put nutritionists and experts in healthy cooking in contact with those people who abuse hyper caloric homemade recipes.
This is one of the 19 projects awarded in the EduCaixa Challenge 2021 call of the “la Caixa” Foundation, which aims to promote educational values among young people, develop their skills through meaningful learning and approach the real professional context. The challenge is divided into four categories: Young Entrepreneurs, BigData, BeCritical and STEAMxChange, and has awarded the proposals that put greater social awareness at the service of the new post-pandemic reality.
“EduCaixa Challenge aims to encourage critical thinking, active and constructive observation of reality, empathy, the value of collaborative and team work, and the importance of developing one's own competences”, explains Rosa María Martínez , the main person in charge of the EduCaixa Challenge. “And in this edition we wanted to give a special value to the action, empowering the participants to be agents of social change. We believe that the objective has been fully met in the different phases ”, she concludes.
Creative and empathetic generation
985 teams of secundary compulsory education (ESO), Baccalaureate and professional educaction (FP) students from Spain and Portugal participated in the EduCaixa Challenge 2021 call. Of them, 95 teams with 355 students and 78 teachers were selected to participate in a Virtual Campus for three days, with inspirational talks and workshops that would help them design their final project.
It could be said that each of these videos represents the first post-pandemic adolescent proposals, where they reflect their concerns and solutions. For them, the intuitive thing would be to use new technologies as a way to connect isolated people, develop applications on biodegradation or analyze the contagion curve based on poverty by territory, which are some of the proposals put forward.
The CardGallery project, for example, designed by students Ángel, Luis, Telmo and Jorge, from the Alcaste de Nalda school (La Rioja), consisted of “coming to the rescue of artists and museums” in crisis after restrictions due to the pandemic. The mobile application designed by these students would connect art lovers, collectors and patrons with artists who could upload their available works to a virtual space.
Skills for the future
“What has surprised us the most about the videos presented is the interest shown by all the participants in being agents of social change. They all focused on how to improve, in some way, some aspect of society, either with innovative proposals or by analyzing and researching to find solutions ”, describes Martínez. And he adds: “Based on the projects presented, I would say that this is a very empathetic generation, which has deeply rooted values such as environmental sustainability, which is mostly committed to equity and that caring for others is very present. I think this is a generation in which technology and, therefore, digital is already part of their DNA. It is surprising how in such a short time they have been able to generate videos that technologically do not have much to envy of professional results ”.
To achieve these objectives, the EduCaixa platform makes available to students a wide repertoire of digital resources that allow them to develop their ideas, based on the Project-Based Learning methodology and cooperative work, with the Sustainable Development Goals set by Nations. United as a cornerstone. All this contributes to developing the necessary skills and competencies not only in the educational field, but also in the social and occupational fields, such as the ability to work in a team, critical thinking, effective communication and creativity.
In previous editions of the EduCaixa Challenge pre-pandemic, the award consisted of a training trip to Boston, New York or Silicon Valley, except in 2020, when it was not possible to travel. The award for the 2021 edition will consist of a training bootcamp in Mallorca -which will be held in July following all the necessary security measures-, in which students and teachers will be able to live and exchange learning experiences with other teams for six days.
“As adults, the lesson we can draw from this edition would be to trust these adolescents, consider their abilities and criteria, because they are aware that the future is in their hands. Although there are adolescents of all kinds, as in all generations, I believe that we must give visibility to young people who, like these participants, are involved with the society in which they live and try to provide solutions. And they are a sample ”, concludes the person in charge of the program.

Servicio y creatividad: BeCritical Challenge.
Tumblr media
