Too little love for the one who always saves them.
Always a new movie of Superman graces the silver screen, or any screen, we are told it came to save DC or at least start a new era of a cinematic universe. Any Batso movie only comes to save or ruin the character even more. No one gives a shit if it will start or finish something. That's how different the two characters are.
Example: the last batmovie with Pattinson was anounced with little hipe. Little compared with the earthquake this last Superman film created. There are already rumors of an entire movie universe being born out of it. Yes, with a new vision for Batso and all.
Problem is Batso is self contained. There's too little to say about him: There's Gotham, there's his personal tragedy, there's his struggle, his furtune, Catwoman and, of course, there's Joker. NOTHING MORE. It was just another Batso feature film.
Supes is open to other interests. DC wants him constrained to Metropolis, because there is where Lois is, but there's always other characters from the DC universe dropping by (hint to the new cinematic developments), becuase Superman is an open character and, unlike Batso, always needs external help, because he can't do anything by himself. That's by design.
Why then DC Comics despises the character so much? Why reserves all its innovations and best writers for the Bat, if all the bets are placed on the success or demise of their Superman ventures. If you look carefully the last reboots in their comic universe were all about Supes. Batso needed to stay always the same or the fans would riot DC offices and demand they bring Frank Miller's version back.
DC/WB pay too little attention to updates and scripts for Supes. They've frozen the character after the 1980s. Yeah, with minor changes like tying the knot with Lois Lane (until the Siegel family demanded more money and they tried to find alternatives like the New 52, see?: every reboot is about Superman.) The last reboot was to allow Clark and Lois to have a son. Yeah: that son nobody talks about anymore, and Lois completely forgot, because all the attention is focused on the Batsofamily as it should.
But when a new, fresh take is needed on their languishing cinematic universe, they always turn to the Man of Steel.
DC/WB are always expecting to repeat the success of the first Superman movie (LOL), back in 1978. Mmmno, Kids: no can do. That was lightning is a bottle. A perfect storm. Films are no longer made that way. Worst thing is DC/WB have no clue how films are being made nowadays. They turn to Marvel for guidance, but the best they can do is steal movie directors like Whedon and Gunn. DC/WB minds are too rigid and refuse to take risks. If the old formula worked, why change it? Because the World evolved, so you must let your main character evolve as well.
The boldest move they are willing to make is change the design of the S symbol or bring Krypto. The rest is always the same: Metropolis, Daily Planet, Luthor, kryptonite and the other, worse kryptonite, of course: Lois Lane.

Mistaken Concepts.
Directors and everyone involved seem to have this need when facing the enormous task of making a Superman movie: "How can we make the alien more human?" The answer is always showing Supes at his worst: beaten, humiliated, humbled not only by his enemies but also his squeeze. There! He's more human! How D'you like him now?
Not at all.
Idiot fans agree with the idea and when you complain they say "Wha...? You want him always on top, like a Mary Sue?" "Don't you want Superman to struggle a little?" Guys: it's not a little: it's always a lot. So bad he must be rushed to the Kryptonian ER by no other than his dog.
When writing for humans, they always make them keep fighting even after losing an arm and a leg, an eye hanging outside its socket and still winnig. That's not a Mary Sue? They want the human to appear more than human. Going beyond his limits to accomplish his heroic task. I have news for you guys: Superman is already more than human. You don't have to go the extra mile with him.
Clint Eastwood, in "Any wich way you can" wins a fight after his arm was broken. He dusts himself up and keeps fighting.. Ouch!
Batso always wins even against a superstrong alien and never ever loses his mask and belt. Even after losing his belt he manages to win the fight. The mask stays on, of course. Always.
Ip Man gets severily beaten in all the last battles of every movie. From the floor (long after the count) he manages to rise a fist, showing he can still fight, stands up and wins.
Foes always manage to collect Superman's (the one with impenetrable skin) DNA, to make a clon, to create a disease against him or just for fun.
Batso bleeds all over the place he always has a battle on, but nobody ever thinks to collect his blood just to know who he is in his secret identity by searching in the public databanks. Yeah, Bruce erased all his data, but some entrepreneurial adversary may be smart enough to have its own private database. They also have a ton of money, you know?
And they are human. But, are they? If so, that's the kind of human I want Supes to be. Not the weak version they always make him. Not the one broken and humilliated, but the one standing defiant in front of any foe. With that "human Superman" I have no problem with.
Please, give me that "human" Superman.
In the animated feature "Superman/Batman: Public enemies" Superman has to quit the stopping of the Kryptonite asteroid running towards Earth because it was...wel: kryptonite, leaving Batman alone to destroy it. What a hero, huh? How was the saying go?: "If you need to stop a meteorite, you call Superman..." Nope. Not anymore.
The mistaken concept is if they don't make the alien human, the public won't like him, because people are stupid xenophobes and hate anything other than humans. They want the alien bleeding and suffering. Yeah: I'm talking about you, dear reader. That's the concept they have you on. And you let them.
If you need to make Superman more human, please make him the kind that never stops fighting, not even after he's beaten, the kind that always wins. Against all odds.

The CEO approach.
CEOs are assholes who are always planning (yeah, Batso, or better yet, Bruce Wayne is a CEO). Planning for the future, not even knowing if the current venture will deliver. There's a saying: "You don't want to put all your eggs in the same basket", referring to you always have to have a fall-to exit, an escape plan, if what you're doing now fails.
Of course, I'm talking about the Superman movie: not even knowing if it will succeed, DC/WB are planning an entire movie universe based on it. Instead of focusing on making the best product they can, they drop hints of what is to come, an uncertain future. That made the lousy Snyderverse fail: rushing things. Instead of making a second successful movie with Supes, the idiot rushed the introduction of Batso and Wonder Woman. That didn't work well for Supes, who wasn't even completely developed yet. Next? JL, of course! Mixing a ton of characters when the main ones where still in developing stage.
Either way, I didn't like Snyder's "vision" or style, so I don't give it a second thought. Only pointing out Gunn and co. are making the same mistakes, and it will cost them. It's called "throwing a lot of shit at a wall, hoping some will stick". Problem is the wall is still very slippery. But that's what happens when you let bean counters in charge of an artistic endeavor. Bean counters who have a saying on every step of the artistic endeavor. Yeah, you may say that even renaissance artists had sponsors. Let me tell you Michellangelo fought tooth and nails with the Pope, one of the most powerful men at the moment, to let his vision a priority on the Sistine Chapel.
Now, the "Popes", the CEOs, don't even listen: they have the money so they make the decisions.
Film directors don't even care: they are also planning the lucrative "director's cut".
Problem is they make the public part of the charade, making us worry for the budget, the distribution, "is the first weekend successful enough?", and other things that shouldn't concern us.
People: focus on having a good time. It's your expending, hard earnt money. Demand quality in exchange for it. The business part is their business, not yours. Of course, you want your favorite hero to succeed, so you can have more of it, but that's not your concern and it's not in your hands.

Darkseid would overwhelmingly defeat Voldemort.
Here's a breakdown of why:
Voldemort's Strengths:
• Powerful Wizard: Voldemort is one of the most powerful dark wizards in the Harry Potter universe, a master of many forms of magic including the Unforgivable Curses, wandless magic, and creating Horcruxes for a form of immortality.
• Skilled Duelist: He is exceptionally skilled in magical combat.
• Legilimency: He can read and manipulate minds.
• Flight: He can fly without the aid of a broom.
Darkseid's Strengths:
• God-like Power: Darkseid is a New God, possessing immense strength, durability, and cosmic power on a scale far beyond that of a wizard.
• Omega Beams: His signature attack is the Omega Beams, energy blasts from his eyes that can disintegrate, teleport, or even erase beings from existence. These beams are incredibly difficult to dodge and control.
• Genius-Level Intellect: Darkseid is a brilliant strategist and manipulator.
• Telepathy and Telekinesis: He possesses powerful mental abilities.
• Size Alteration: He can change his size at will.
• Immortality and Longevity: As a New God, he is effectively immortal.
• Omega Sanction: A terrifying ability to trap victims in endless tormenting alternate realities.
• Life Force Draining: He can drain the life force of others.
Why Darkseid Wins:
• Power Disparity: The fundamental difference is the scale of their power. Voldemort's magic, while potent in his own world, operates on a much smaller, more personal level. Darkseid's powers are cosmic and capable of affecting entire planets and realities.
• Durability: Darkseid can withstand attacks from beings like Superman. Voldemort's physical form is vulnerable to conventional damage once his Horcruxes are dealt with.
• Omega Beams vs. Magic: It's highly unlikely Voldemort's spells could withstand the destructive force of the Omega Beams. There's no indication that magical shields in Harry Potter could block energy on that scale.
• Mind Manipulation: While Voldemort is a skilled Legilimens, Darkseid's telepathic abilities are likely far superior, potentially allowing him to control or overwhelm Voldemort's mind.
• Immortality vs. Horcruxes: Darkseid's immortality is inherent to his being. Voldemort's "immortality" relies on fragile external objects (Horcruxes) that can be destroyed.
(😆😂 voldemort is a city level threat at best)
Let's be honest: Darko conquers entire Solar Systems onto submission. In one or more planets of those there probably was one or two Voldemorts and Darkseid and his minions surely have provisions to deal with them. Probably, after millennia, they have protocols in place to handle entire Hogwarts schools.
Of course, they don't know what to do about Batso, but, Hey!, nobody does.

What did you think when you saw her attitude, rubbing her hands with enthusiasm, facing the interview she's going to perform on her beloved.
Didn't you imagine her saying "well, let's gut this idiot"?
I didn't see empathy, I didn't see understanding. I didn't see her open to listen. She'd already decided what she wanted.

Fandoms are crazy
In one hand, we have Marvel heroes, married heroes, jumping from one lover to another without anyone batting an eye. We have Catwoman leaving Bruce at the altar and fanboys go "Oh, well", and we know those guys are nuts.
But when it comes to SuperWonder, anathema! "how dare you!", "They are gonna conquer the World!", Eugenics!". They rise like Maga idiots at a rally, chanting "build the wall!"
We have the nonsensical "Absolute" universe, a thing nobody needed or wanted.
We have the stupid Multiverse to bring evil versions of Batso (already lost count), but not to have one freaking universe where Kal and Diana can be together.
It is a very effective campaign from DC Comics to bring the stupid Lork couple front and center, because they spent too much money and effort to keep using the Lois Lane character to quit now. And idiot fans eat crow like the idiots they are.
They married them. It worked for a while, but the nature of the Lane character finally surfaced and showed how despicable she is. They made them have a son. It worked for a while, but the nature of the Lane character finally surfaced and showed how despicable and useless mother she is. Now, they made her Superwoman. Let's see how long it last.
DC can mantain interest on Lane only for a short while.
Lane have no facets, she can only be a brazen heartless reporter and nothing more. Watch the next Superman movie trailer and the interview she does with Clark. Cronquite is turning all over in his grave. (the way she rubs her hads with enthusiasm reminds me of a butcher sharpening his knife)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Besides, Diana and Kal together make a formidable team, turning all other heroes pretty much useless by comparison. They can only be together if they turn evil and Batso can fight them on a crusade and humiliate them and defeat them. Nobody stops to recognize he also shows his true face in the process, plotting, sacrificing others while he remains hidden, only he does what he must. In those cases, their couple is always unstable and they usually turn on each other.
Funny you mentioned a court, because there was where the beginning of the end for SuperWonder began.
SuperWonder Drama!
Under arrest in the court of internet opinion.
🧑‍⚖️ ⚖️
What do you think? Should they be left alone in their own universe? Can the fandom be at peace? Will the naysayers ever stop?
…seemingly the most hated ship [for some reason]

Mortis Enhanced Rebels Vader (42% of Son’s Abilities):
* Base (Rebels Vader): This is Vader in his prime. He's incredibly powerful, perhaps 80% of Palpatine's full power, a master of the dark side, lightsaber combat, and possesses immense telekinesis, Force choke, precognition, and a terrifying psychological presence. His rage fuels his power.
* 42% Son's Abilities (Mortis Enhancement): This is the game-changer, pushing Vader into a league of beings that manipulate fundamental aspects of reality. At 42% of the Son's power, Vader gains:
* Cosmic Telekinesis: Able to manipulate objects on a truly planetary scale. He could shatter continents, pull moons out of orbit, crush starships effortlessly, or rip apart celestial bodies. This is not just strong TK; it's a force of nature.
* Profound Dark Side Corruption/Influence: The ability to project waves of fear, despair, and rage that could mentally cripple entire populations, break wills, and turn allies against each other. This is a devastating, widespread psychological weapon that bypasses physical defenses.
* Massive Illusions & Shapeshifting: Capable of creating terrifyingly convincing and widespread illusions.
* Instantaneous Teleportation: Across vast distances, potentially interstellar or even intergalactic, for complete evasion or surprise attacks.
* Potent Life Drain: Could potentially drain the life force or energy from powerful opponents, rapidly weakening them or killing them.
* Reality Warping (Minor): While not explicitly omnipotent reality warping, the Son's influence over the Force is so profound it can subtly bend and reshape local reality or the environment to his will.
* Overall Threat: At this level, Vader is a universal-level destructive force, a physical embodiment of the Dark Side's destructive potential, capable of devastating celestial bodies and corrupting entire civilizations. He operates beyond conventional physics.
Silver Age Superman:
* Powers: Silver Age Superman is infamous for his ludicrous, near-omnipotent powers, often defying logical limits.
* Infinite Strength: Literally described as having "infinite strength" at times. He could tow galaxies, move planets with ease, shatter moons by sneezes, and lift objects of "infinite mass."
* Infinite Speed: Could fly faster than light, faster than thought, faster than time itself, and even travel through time. He could perceive and react in femtoseconds or less.
* Infinite Durability: Virtually invulnerable to all forms of attack except for specific weaknesses (Kryptonite, red sun radiation, and sometimes magic). He could survive supernovas, black holes, and the direct impact of planets.
* Super-Senses: Telescopic, microscopic, X-ray (except lead), auditory, and even cosmic senses.
* Numerous "Lesser" Powers: Heat vision (capable of melting planets), freeze breath, super-ventriloquism, super-hypnosis, super-weaving, super-ingenuity, super-intelligence, super-ventriloquism, super-prehensile cape, and even powers like "super-weaving" or "super-telepathy" on occasion.
* Feats: Towed multiple planets with a chain, sneezed away a solar system, moved faster than instantaneous teleportation (by literally traveling through time to arrive before a teleporter), flew across galaxies in moments, survived the destruction of universes (on rare, extreme occasions).
The Clash:
This is a battle of two forces operating on an absurd, cosmic scale.
* Strength vs. Telekinesis: Silver Age Superman's physical strength is probably the only thing that could directly contend with Vader's cosmic telekinesis. Superman could physically resist planetary-level Force pushes or attempts to crush him. He's moved planets and galaxies, which is the same scale as Vader's potential.
* Speed vs. Teleportation: This is critical. Vader's instantaneous teleportation is formidable. However, Silver Age Superman's speed transcends instantaneous. He could move so fast that he arrives at his destination before he even left, or travel back in time to prevent an event from happening. This means he could theoretically react to, pursue, or even preempt Vader's teleportation.
* Durability vs. Offensive Powers:
* Vader's Offensive: His cosmic telekinesis, life drain, and Dark Side corruption are the main threats.
* Life Drain: This is mystical/energy drain. Silver Age Superman has shown resistance to various energy drains, but mystical effects are his known vulnerability. If Vader can focus his 42% Son's life drain, it could be devastating if it bypasses Superman's energy invulnerability.
* Dark Side Corruption/Mental Attacks: This is another potentially critical avenue. While Silver Age Superman is incredibly strong-willed, mental attacks were occasionally effective against him (e.g., through hypnotism). A cosmic-level, despair-inducing Dark Side wave could cause him severe distress or confusion, even if it doesn't break his will entirely.
* Superman's Offensive: His punches are planet-shattering, his heat vision can melt anything (sometimes even lead, his one true weakness), and his speed can deliver thousands of blows in an instant. This raw kinetic and energy output would be difficult for Vader to withstand, even with his Mortis-enhanced durability.
The Decisive Factor: Silver Age Superman's Absurdity and "Soft" Powers
While Vader's Mortis powers are incredible and make him a multi-universal threat within Star Wars, Silver Age Superman operated on a level of cartoonish absurdity that often defied consistent power scaling.
* Magic Vulnerability: This is Vader's best bet. The Force, particularly the Son's power, can be considered a mystical/magical energy within its own universe. If this translates to "magic" in the DC sense, it's Superman's Achilles' heel. Vader's life drain and direct energy blasts could potentially bypass Superman's invulnerability.
* Superman's "Plot Device" Powers: Silver Age Superman often manifested powers to solve whatever plot problem he faced. If "teleportation" was an issue, he'd suddenly be "faster than teleportation." If mental attacks were an issue, he'd suddenly have "super-willpower" or a "super-hypnotic gaze" to counter. He could even use "super-ventriloquism" to trick Vader into saying "Anakin" or something to disrupt his focus. He's done things like pull himself out of the timestream to avoid attacks.
Conclusion:
This is incredibly close, but Silver Age Superman would likely win, though with extreme difficulty and possibly suffering effects he normally wouldn't.
Here's why:
* Overwhelming Raw Power & Speed: Silver Age Superman's strength, speed, and durability feats are simply on a higher plane of "infinite" absurdity, even compared to cosmic Force powers. He can fight through cosmic phenomena.
* Trans-dimensional/Temporal Movement: His ability to move faster than instantaneous teleportation or even travel through time means Vader cannot reliably evade him.
* Resistance to Energy/Mind (Usually): While magic is a weakness, the consistency of that weakness against an unknown mystical force like the Son's power is debatable for Silver Age Supes, who often just shrugged off things that should have affected him. His will was also exceptionally strong.
* No Kryptonite/Red Sun: Vader has no inherent way to exploit Superman's primary weaknesses.
Vader's 42% Son power makes him a terrifying and destructive force capable of warping reality and breaking wills. He could severely injure Superman, mentally traumatize him, or put him in a situation he'd never forget. The life drain is the biggest threat.
However, Silver Age Superman's sheer, incalculable, plot-device-level powers mean he always finds a way to win. He would deliver blows at speeds and with forces that would dismantle Vader's enhanced body, and even if Vader teleported, Superman would simply be there before he arrived.
It would be a destructive spectacle, but Superman's boundless, often nonsensical, abilities would ultimately triumph.
(I asked Gemini and this is the breakdown of the vs)
There's this risk when you mix characters from different fictional universes: no matter how thorough your description is, they were conceived following different parameters, for different purposes.
You can't throw them onto an arena and shout "fight!". It doesn't work like that. Vader caculating nature first need to see if he can use Supes for his means and Kal-El needs to see if the sith is redeemable. It's their nature.
Besides, as master Stan Lee said, the winner will be whomever the writer wants it to win, no matter the array of powers.
youtube
The one character using an armor or some tech of any kind is always in disadvantage, be it Batso, Vader, Luthor or Iron-Man. It takes only to find and nulify the power source to disable them or where is the weak spot on the device. There's always a weak spot on any device. Even Iron-Man, after the explosion of a nuclear device and consequent EMP, fell from the sky like a rock and needed to be saved.
Try to use your smart phone where there's no antennas or Wi Fi nearby. Not too smart now, is it?
