Maybe you’ve watched the UFC and always wondered what the hell they are trying to do on the ground.

Maybe you’ve listen to the Joe Rogan Experience and heard him and Eddie Bravo rant about how Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) has changed their lives as well as others.

Maybe you took that big first step, headed down to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym and didn’t really have the experience you hoped.

If any of those scenarios ring true with you or if you’ve just thought you’d love to give Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a go,  then this is the first step you should make.

The Beginners BJJ 3 x 1 hour sessions are run from the Academy Of Mixed Martial Arts (AMMA) and are designed for those with NO Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or grappling experience. It is for males and females, ages 15 and up.

It is personalised 1 on 1 training (or 1 on 2 if you would prefer to do it with a friend) that is designed to introduce you to the main positions you will find yourself in learning BJJ so you feel comfortable when you step into the regular classes that are run daily at AMMA.

The 1 on 1 training will allow for plenty of discussion and will be run by a professional who understands the ‘intimidation’ factor that still exists when walking into a Martial Arts Gym for the first time or that you may feel nervous, unfit, shy and out of your comfort zone. You will therefore get personalised coaching sometimes missing in traditional 'beginners classes' and following the 3 x 1 hour sessions you will be ready to hit the larger classes with confidence.

It is a No Gi class and requires no uniform, just a t-shirt and shorts or leggings.
