Sweet dreams are made of this... ✨ One of my favorite snaps taken by @crippeakasizzler1 during a freestyle with @_mihkal_ for Creative Conscious Entertainment in October. . I am so incredibly humbled by the boost in interest my performance artistry has received this year, and what an adventure 2018 has been! I started it by taking a 3-day bellyfusion intensive with Zoe Jakes in January that left me wildly inspired and empowered. However, I was just beginning my foray into aerial silks, so #dance wound up taking a back burner for about 5 months. . This summer my focus shifted again, music festivals and sunny weather pushing dramatic ground movements back to the forefront of my #creative space. I connected with my hoops, twirled across the earth, and sank back into the joy of flowing without thought. I feel so alive when I am able to enter that formless groove, and I’d really missed it. . Unfortunately, an injury put my aerial training on hold late in the summer and I had to set my ego aside to allow for a proper recovery. It was very difficult to accept, and I still find myself getting irrationally huffy when I think about the “time I’ve lost,” which is silly bc time was never really mine to start with and energy is not destroyed, just redirected! . Thanks to invitations from friends new + old, I had the honor of gracing the stage three times this fall. My Leo rising lives for big showy expression, and it felt so good to throw my energy at a crowd and feel it bounce right back! I am so grateful for all of the opportunities offered to me and while I’m taking a break from performing for NYE, there are some potential maybes on the line for 2019 that could be pretty rad! . I’m in the process of setting some creativity-based goals for this next year that include another workshop with Zoe in February, filming an audition promo reel to send out for larger-scale events/festivals, investing in private aerial coaching, getting my yoga teaching off the ground, curating a series of lunar gatherings, and improving my overall health to support my physical hobbies.
