Meeting the surrogate:
Series link.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack was never one to chew his nails, but today was different. He poked at the skin around his nails, making himself bleed. He opted to come alone, knowing his mom would’ve gladly made an appearance, he felt like he needed to do this part alone. He knew it was the first step of many “single father” events.
“Mr. Harlow?” Phoebe called him into her office, but before he could correct her she corrected herself “Jackman, I apologize!”
“Just Jack is fine” he sweetly smiled as he sat down with the binder in his lap.
“Did we find the perfect donor?” She smiled, as Jack nervously let out a chuckle.
“I think so” he handed her the binder, pointing out the sticky note he had left on page 27.
“Okay! Perfect. The next step is to find a surrogate to carry your child. Did you have anyone in mind or do you want to be set up with someone?”
“I think going through the agency is the best idea.” Truthfully he had an ex in mind, but considering she was the only person he had ever truly loved he opted for a less destructive choice.
Phoebe handed him a USB drive this time, making him laugh out loud.
“Seriously? We couldn’t have had this for the egg donors?” Jack laughed as he held on to the USB tightly.
“We like to give the binder out for dramatics.” Phoebe smiled noticing that Jack was finally sitting back relaxed.
“We can look at surrogates together if you’d like to make a decision today, or you can go home and have more time with it.”
“Do I need to narrow it down to one?”
“Not at all! We usually suggest two or three at most. Then we’ll set up a meeting and get the logistics planned out.”
“If it’s okay I’d like to look over them with you and get that process started today” Jack hated to admit it but the argument with his dad lit a fire under him. He wanted to get this process started quickly.
Phoebe had already pulled a list of reliable surrogates, they had already had children of their own or had been with the agency for a while with impressive background checks. She pulled up the details on her screen, motioning for Jack to pull his chair toward hers.
“This is Darcy. She has two children of her own, and she’s had two with the agency already. If you were interested in Darcy you’d be her last client.”
Jack made an unsure face, Phoebe took that as a no and continued to the next one.
“This is Yasmeen. She’s had one baby with our agency, with no issues during birth. She’d be willing to carry twins if you changed your mind about anything like that. Yasmeen's first baby was covered under an NDA which means she’s privy to your situation.”
Jack liked the sound of that, motioning for Phoebe to bookmark her as one of the two, or three he’d like to meet with.
“This is Janet, she’s had three kids of her own. However, none with the agency yet, and her family frequently donates to the agency. She comes from a wealthy family so money isn’t the motive here. She’d be open to carrying and being discreet.”
Jack was picky, shaking his head. He just didn’t have a good gut feeling about her.
It took Phoebe and Jack two more hours before narrowing it down to three women.
Yasmeen, Aimee and Diane.
“I’m sorry that took so long. I genuinely thought that would be easier” Jack scratched the back of his neck.
“Don’t worry about it! I understand this is a big decision.” Phoebe usually cleared her entire day for Jack knowing he was an important client.
“The biggest” Jack blushed, feeling good about his choices.
“Tomorrow I’ll have Yasmeen come down here to meet you and we’ll go from there” Phoebe held her hand out for Jack to shake it.
****
Jack didn’t want to be alone, calling Urban as he got to the car.
“I already have dinner in the oven!” Alessandra hollered as Urban answered the phone.
“How’d it go? Did you find a baby mama?” Urban chuckled.
“I did! I found a few!”
“A few? The fuck?” Urban snorted on the other end of the phone.
“I’ll explain when I get there.”
When Jack pulled into the driveway he was greeted by Urbans kids, they practically tackled him to the ground.
“Be careful with your Uncle Jack! He’s old and dusty,” Alessandra teased earning a dirty look from her husband and Jack.
“You marry someone a year younger than you and they act like it’s a decade” Urban whispered making Jack laugh.
Jack went into the backyard and played with the kids while the food continued to cook.
Urban had invited Copelan over, knowing Jack likely wanted the extra support.
When Cope showed up and the food was ready everyone came inside to eat.
“This looks so good, thanks baby” Urban kissed Alessandra before she waved him off so she could serve everyone.
“That’s not necessary, we can do it” Jack always felt bad but it was in Alessandra's DNA to want to take care of everyone.
“Jackman!” She warned making him laugh as he threw his hands up defensively.
“Hey, the kids don’t know right?” Jack whispered to Alessandra.
“Oh hell no. Kids have big mouths” she smiled earning a laugh from all of the guys.
When dinner was finally over and Alessandra got the kids got ready for bed the three guys sat together at the table and talked.
“Spill” Copelan looked over Jacks' shoulder making sure the kids were gone before he teased him, knowing Jack had been dying to talk about it for the last two hours.
“I mean tomorrow I get to meet with someone and see if they’re a good fit. If I feel like meeting the other two women then I will and then I get to pick one. Then we have to come to an agreement financially and everything.”
“So it’s like build-a-bear but for baby mamas?” Copelan joked.
“Dude!” Urban smacked his arm, stifling a laugh.
“It’s fine, that was a good one” Jack laughed before fist-bumping Cope.
“Are you excited? Anxious? What’s going on up there?” Urban lightly knocked on Jack's head making him smile.
“I kinda just feel like I’m going to have the nervous shits for the rest of my life” Jack admitted.
“Ahhh fatherhood!” Urban smirked before sipping his beer.
“Couldn’t be me” Cope shrugged.
“You’ve got to be shooting blanks because there is just no way in hell you don’t have like seventeen baby mamas” Alessandra chimed in as she walked back into the living room.
Copelan's face grew red with embarrassment immediately, having zero comebacks for that as there was likely some truth to it.
Jack and Urban erupted in laughter, slapping one another’s arms as they couldn’t control it.
“I needed this” Jack hummed, wiping his tearful eyes as he was just happy to be surrounded by his people.
****
Jack had hardly slept that night, meaning when his alarm went off for his meeting with his surrogate he groaned knowing it was going to be a long day.
He didn’t know how to approach this day. Did he get her a morning coffee? Did he dress up nicely? Should he wear cologne?
When he got to the agency, he felt anxious. The room was glass-encased, meaning he saw Yasmeen sitting with Phoebe at the table. He thought about turning around and running to his car but it was too late, Phoebe already waved for him to come inside the room.
“Yasmeen! This is Jack! Jack this is Yasmeen!”
Jack shook her hand, taking a seat across from her. All the thoughts he had in his head previously had suddenly disappeared.
Phoebe helped guide Jack with some of the questions and fears he had previously mentioned and Yasmeen got the feeling that he was overwhelmed.
Jack could feel the beads of sweat trickling down his back and the side of his face. His hair became frizzy as he nervously ran his fingers through it as Phoebe spoke.
“Jack? May I?” She interrupted and reached over the table grasping his hands.
“I know how much of a blessing it is to carry a baby for someone who’s looking to start a family. I know this situation is likely not ideal but I hope you know that I’ll handle this with the utmost respect and grace.” She looked into his eyes, knowing he needed to hear that.
Jack felt like he could stop holding his breath now. “You’re very calming, you know that?”
“I’ve been told!” She giggled, realizing that helped ease the tension some.
“Given my situation” he blew air out of his nose, trying to figure out how to word this best.
“Let me start over” he sat up straight in his seat. “Phoebe told me that you’ve carried a baby for someone who required an NDA, yes?”
“That’s right! So basically, before implantation is scheduled I signed a non-disclosure agreement. I had the baby in a private wing and the media never found out, it was never discussed. Basically, the only proof I carried a baby for someone is what the agency has on file.”
Phoebe also explained that the agency requires nda agreements for meetings such as this one.
“You’d be fine with similar circumstances?” Jack was nervous but had to be direct.
“Perfectly fine! Essentially I’ll only be around as much as you’d like me to be, if at all.”
“Oh, I already know my mom wants to throw you… well me? A baby shower” he chuckled awkwardly.
“Jack had expressed to me that he’d want to be pretty involved with the pregnancy, is that still the plan?” Phoebe looked over her notes.
“If it’s alright with you, I’d like to attend appointments. In general, I’d like to be involved as much as possible. I can set you up with a private doctor and anything you’d need.”
Yasmeen nodded completely understanding Jack's anxiousness. “I’m here to bless you with a baby, so whatever you need from me. I’m here.”
Jack wanted to jump at the chance to pick Yasmeen as his surrogate but he didn’t want to seem too eager so he let her know he would be in touch. As she left the room, Phoebe smiled at Jack feeling the excitement radiating off of him.
“Do you want to meet with other surrogates?”
“Not really” Jack winced, bracing for her advice.
“I think you two are a good fit” she smiled. “Do you want to get a contract started?”
“Can I sleep on it?”
“Anything you need.” Phoebe smiled as Jack left her office.
When he was walking out, he noticed Yasmeen waiting in the lobby, she was looking out the glass doors for her ride.
Jack slowly approached her “Do you need a ride home?”
“Oh!” She was startled, giggling as she didn’t expect him to make it down to the lobby so quickly.
“I’m just waiting for my sister! She’ll be here any minute.” She admired how sweet he was, hoping more than anything he’d pick her to be his surrogate.
“Do you and your sister…?” He paused for a moment waiting for a name.
“Y/N” she smiled.
“Do you and y/n want to have dinner tonight?” Jack wasn’t sure why he said it but he did.
“Just us?” Yasmeen was curious about what Jack was planning.
“I was thinking my brother could come and maybe my mom?” He chewed the inside of his cheek nervously.
“The final test? Is this allowed?” She giggled genuinely curious as she handed Jack her cell phone.
“Something like that, and I think so?” He smiled as he typed in an address to a local restaurant he knew he’d be able to rent out tonight.
“See you at six!” She smiled as she walked out to her sisters car.

Exactly how does Men Having Babies and SEEDS plan to make renting wombs and ripping babies away from their mothers at birth more ethical?
The nonprofit Men Having Babies (MHB) is endorsing The Society for Ethics for Egg Donation and Surrogacy's (SEEDS) new Standards of Ethical Conduct for Member Agencies. The Standards include LGBTQ+ inclusive definition of infertility to be used in screening intended parents for surrogacy, curbing the over-commercialization of the field by detailing acceptable advertising practices, and enhancing the status of the United States as a place dedicated to the ethical operation of agencies that provide gestational surrogacy and egg donation services.
NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Men Having Babies (MHB) is pleased to announce its board's formal endorsement of The Society for Ethics for Egg Donation and Surrogacy's (SEEDS) new Standards of Ethical Conduct for Member Agencies. These new standards constitute the first time that professionals involved in gestational surrogacy and egg donation in the United States have created self-binding standards, as compared to the longstanding ethical frameworks that apply to medical, legal, and mental health providers involved in surrogacy and egg donation. "We feel that the creation of the SEEDS Standards will serve to codify and even improve upon prevailing best practices that already set the US and Canada apart among other countries where surrogacy is practiced," said Ron Poole-Dayan, MHB's founder and executive director. "Some differences still exist between the positions of SEEDS and those of MHB, and the terminology we use is sometimes different. However, the new SEEDS Standards reflect many of the values we share, and they are a testament to the professionalism of those working in this field."
In addition to the board's endorsement of these Standards, Men Having Babies is proud to announce that beginning in 2024 all US based surrogacy agencies that participate in MHB events and the Gay Parenting Assistance Program will be asked to demonstrate adherence to these new SEEDS Standards. MHB hopes that this will be another step in the direction of making these Standards widespread and promoting the United States as a place dedicated to the ethical operation of agencies that provide gestational surrogacy and egg donation services.
Men Having Babies is proud to have played a unique, supporting role in the development of these groundbreaking standards. Lisa Schuster, MHB's director of programming and a former gestational surrogate, has been invited as an observer to SEEDS's Standards Committee, and provided input and observation through the lens of MHB's mission of promoting ethical surrogacy practices that minimize the risks and maximize the potential short and long-term benefits to all involved.
Not only do the Standards address professional aspects related to the business and operational conduct of member agencies, Men Having Babies is especially proud to highlight details of the Standards that, in line with MHB's Framework for Ethical Surrogacy for Intended Parents, address issues related to the rights and wellbe- ing of all parties involved.
Men Having Babies applauds SEEDS' use of the LGBTQ+ inclusive definition of infertility to be used in screening intended parents for surrogacy. This language comes from the inclusive definition of infertility, which MHB helped to draft, used by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association in their model legislation, and which has already been passed in new legislation in Illinois last year. The Standards embrace the concept of 'status' as it relates to infertility, in addition to the medical condition and disease, prohibiting agencies from providing services to those who do not "demonstrate a need for surrogacy associated with a disease, condition, or status characterized by [...] a person's inability to reproduce either as a single individual or with their partner without medical intervention". This position corresponds to MHB's Ethical Framework which advocates that surrogacy should be legally allowed as a parenting option to individuals, single or coupled, that lack the reproductive capacity to become parents without the help of a surrogate or have a medical reason for needing the help of a surrogate, but not to women who simply do not desire to become pregnant – sometimes referred to as "social surrogacy".
Also, in the spirit of MHB's Ethical Framework are SEEDS's efforts to curb the over-commercialization of the field by detailing acceptable practices relating to advertising, and prohibition of the use of inaccurate, misleading, or coercive information, or placing undue emphasis on monetary incentives and compensation to potential donors or surrogates. With respect to compensation, Men Having Babies is pleased that, given the unique and unexpected circumstances that can arise in any surrogacy journey, the Standards prohibit the bundling of the recompense for the personal sacrifice and risks associated with the surrogacy process into a "flat rate" along with reimbursements for out-of-pocket expenses and compensation associated with specific contingencies.
Men Having Babies applauds the hard work and dedication of the professionals involved in surrogacy and egg donation and, in line with our policies related to ethical surrogacy, is proud to endorse these new Standards.
About Men Having Babies  The international nonprofit Men Having Babies (MHB) is dedicated to providing current and future gay fathers with unbiased advice, support, and financial assistance. The organization's Membership Benefits Program (MBP) offers a wide range of exclusive guidance resources, including MHB's unique Peer Advice Parent Network, and access to discounts from over 160 surrogacy providers. Finding the Best Surrogacy Centre in Kolkata — Siliguri IVF Centre
Surrogacy has become a beacon of hope for many couples and individuals struggling with infertility. In Kolkata, the demand for surrogacy services has seen a significant rise due to the availability of top-notch medical facilities and experienced professionals. This article will guide you through the journey of finding the best surrogacy centre in Kolkata, ensuring you have all the information needed to make an informed decision.
Understanding Surrogacy
Surrogacy is a process where a woman (the surrogate) carries and delivers a baby for another person or couple (the intended parents). There are two main types of surrogacy:
Traditional Surrogacy: The surrogate mother uses her own egg, making her the biological mother of the child.
Gestational Surrogacy: An embryo created using the intended parents’ or donors’ eggs and sperm is implanted in the surrogate, who has no genetic link to the child.
Why Choose Surrogacy?
Surrogacy is a viable option for individuals and couples facing various challenges, such as:
Medical Conditions: Women with uterine issues or health conditions that make pregnancy risky.
Infertility: Couples struggling with infertility after exhausting other treatments.
Same-Sex Couples: Gay couples who wish to have a biological child.
Single Parents: Individuals desiring to have their own children.
The Surrogacy Process
The surrogacy journey involves several critical steps:
Initial Consultation: Meeting with a fertility specialist to discuss medical history and surrogacy options.
Matching with a Surrogate: Finding a suitable surrogate through an agency or clinic.
Legal Agreements: Drafting and signing surrogacy contracts to protect the rights of all parties.
Medical Procedures: IVF procedures to create and transfer embryos.
Pregnancy and Delivery: Monitoring the surrogate throughout pregnancy and planning for delivery.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Surrogacy Centre
Selecting the right surrogacy centre is crucial for a successful and smooth journey. Here are essential factors to consider:
Reputation and Success Rates: Look for centres with high success rates and positive reviews.
Experienced Professionals: Ensure the centre has qualified doctors, embryologists, and legal advisors.
Comprehensive Services: A good centre should offer end-to-end services, including medical, legal, and psychological support.
Transparency and Ethics: The centre should maintain transparency in procedures and costs, adhering to ethical standards.
Facilities and Infrastructure: Check for state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technologies.

Based on the above factors, we have identified some of the best surrogacy centres in Kolkata:

The Surrogacy Journey at the Best Centre
Choosing the right surrogacy centre sets the foundation for a successful journey. Here’s what you can expect during your surrogacy journey at the best centre in Kolkata:
Initial Consultation and Assessment Your journey begins with an initial consultation, where the fertility specialist reviews your medical history, discusses your goals, and explains the surrogacy process. Diagnostic tests may be conducted to assess your fertility status and identify any potential issues.
Surrogate Matching and Legal Agreements The centre will assist you in finding a suitable surrogate who meets your criteria. Once a match is found, legal agreements are drafted to outline the responsibilities and rights of all parties involved. It’s crucial to have legal advisors who specialize in surrogacy to ensure that the contract is comprehensive and enforceable.
Medical Procedures and Embryo Transfer After the legal formalities, the medical procedures begin. This involves stimulating the intended mother’s ovaries (or the egg donor’s ovaries) to produce multiple eggs, which are then retrieved and fertilized with the intended father’s sperm (or donor sperm) to create embryos. The embryos are cultured for a few days, and the healthiest ones are selected for transfer to the surrogate’s uterus.
Pregnancy and Monitoring Once the embryo transfer is successful, the surrogate undergoes regular monitoring to ensure a healthy pregnancy. The surrogacy centre provides continuous medical care, including prenatal check-ups, ultrasounds, and any necessary treatments. The intended parents are kept informed throughout the pregnancy and can often be present for important milestones.
Delivery and Legal Formalities Post-Birth As the delivery date approaches, the surrogacy centre coordinates with the hospital to ensure a smooth and safe delivery. After the birth, the legal formalities to establish the intended parents’ rights are completed. This may involve obtaining a birth certificate and other necessary documentation.
Cost of Surrogacy in Kolkata
The cost of surrogacy in Kolkata can vary depending on various factors, including the medical procedures required, surrogate compensation, legal fees, and additional services. On average, the cost ranges from INR 12 lakhs to INR 18 lakhs. It’s essential to discuss the cost structure with your chosen surrogacy centre to understand what is included and if there are any potential additional expenses.
Emotional and Psychological Support
Surrogacy can be an emotionally challenging journey for both the intended parents and the surrogate. The best surrogacy centres in Kolkata offer comprehensive emotional and psychological support throughout the process. This includes counseling sessions to address any concerns, providing a support network, and ensuring that both parties feel comfortable and confident.
Legal Considerations in Surrogacy
The legal aspects of surrogacy are complex and vary by region. In India, the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill governs the practice. Some key points include:
Only altruistic surrogacy (where the surrogate is not compensated beyond medical expenses) is allowed.
The intended parents must be a legally married Indian couple.
Single individuals, foreign nationals, and same-sex couples are currently not eligible for surrogacy in India.
It is crucial to work with a surrogacy centre that provides legal assistance to navigate these regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Conclusion
Choosing the best surrogacy centre in Kolkata is a significant step towards fulfilling your dream of parenthood. By considering factors such as reputation, success rates, comprehensive services, and ethical practices, you can make an informed decision. Centres like Nova IVF Fertility, GDIFR, IHR, and Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child Care Centre stand out for their exceptional care and support throughout the surrogacy journey.
Remember, surrogacy is not just a medical process; it’s an emotional and legal journey that requires careful planning and support. With the right centre, you can navigate this path with confidence and hope, knowing that you are in good hands. Whether you are an intended parent or a surrogate, the journey may be challenging, but the reward of bringing a new life into the world makes it all worthwhile.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack stumbled out of bed with a tightness in his chest, his stomach had been in knots all night and he had a hard time sleeping. When he finally forced himself out of bed and started to get ready the reality had finally set in.
He checked the time for what felt like the millionth time that morning, he didn’t want to be late. This process wasn’t something he took lightly and he didn’t want it to appear that way either. He had arranged a driver and his lawyer would be coming with him to make sure all of this would remain confidential. He thumbed over Urban's contact in his phone multiple times before biting back his ego and calling him.
“Hey man” Jack wheezed out nervously.
“I’m on my way” Urban hummed before hanging up. He knew Jack would change his mind, he had already gotten up and ready for the day and was waiting by the phone. You’re not friends with someone for as long as they’ve been friends without really knowing one another.
When Urban arrived at Jack's place he noticed how anxious he was. “Are you having second thoughts?” Urban sat down next to him as Jack rubbed his temples.
“No, I’m sure I want to do this. I’m just nervous” Jack admitted.
“That feeling doesn’t go away. I’m nervous every single day” Urban sighed before continuing. “Being a dad is terrifying. It’s all about constantly worrying about them and wishing you could save them from bullies or heartbreaks. It’s also really rewarding and a love that is unexplainable.”
Jack only nodded, his inability to find the words was something common when it came to this subject.
Eventually Jack, Urban, his attorney Saul, and his driver Matthew were on their way to the surrogacy agency. Jack tried to distract himself by scrolling on his phone but didn’t have much luck.
When the three men entered the building together Jack led the way. He signed in at the front desk and was quickly escorted to a private room with Urban and Saul in tow.
Once all the legal paperwork required for surrogacy was taken care of the conversation started to flow.
Jack had already been screened financially and his background check had been run, meaning he had started this process a while ago. It was a shock for Urban to hear when they usually told each other everything.
A surrogacy specialist by the name of Phoebe sat with Jack and discussed his options. Phoebe had a lot of experience with high-profile clients so she wasn’t phased by this process at all.
“Mr. Harlow! It’s so nice to see you. Who do we have with us today?”
“You already know Saul, but this is my best friend Urban Wyatt.” Jack motioned toward Urban who firmly shook Phoebes' hand.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Wyatt.” She smiled before turning back to Jack “Have you taken some time to think about the surrogacy option you’d like to pursue?”
“Traditional” Jack responded confidently, although he was anything but, admittedly still confused by the difference.
“I know we spoke previously about gestational surrogacy, may I ask why the change of heart?”
Urban looked over at Jack confused, wondering what the difference was between the two.
“I just prefer traditional. It seems like it would be less hassle” Jack swallowed. Truthfully, he had originally had someone in mind that he considered asking to donate their egg but he didn’t have the guts to follow through.
“Well, you can still choose gestational surrogacy by picking an egg donor who has no ties to the baby. If you choose traditional the woman carrying the baby is also the biological mother.” Phoebe knew it was a lot of information so she handed Jack some pamphlets.
Urban held on to them for him, watching as Jack's hands shook.
“If we chose gestational surrogacy, would they would have legal ties to the child?” Jack was worried about that, no doubt.
“So I spoke with your attorney previously about this and we do have tons of private donors, meaning they gave us a lot of their medical history and required information. However, do not wish to be identified or contacted throughout this process.”
“So they just donated their eggs, and that’s it?”
“ I was under the impression that’s what you wanted, yes?”
Jack nodded, his biggest fear was starting this process and somebody interfering with it. He wanted to make sure that nobody would come between him and his future child. “Yes! I’d like to look at private donors.”
Phoebe handed Jack a thick binder, “These are private donors and all of their details. How about you take a few days to look through the egg donors and then we can find a surrogate to carry. This process is a lengthy one.”
Urban watched as his best friend held the binder close to his chest as he shook hands with Phoebe and walked out of the room.
Urban did a little jog to catch up to Jack who still hadn’t said a word. “You alright?”
Jack swallowed hard, nodding nervously as the three of them got back into the car. He immediately started to look through the binder at donors.
“Do you want me to go home with you? We can order food and look through that?” Urban was unsure how to help but wanted Jack to know he’d be there if he wanted him to be.
“Yeah, are you sure? Alessandra doesn’t need help with the kids?”
“No, I told her we had some business stuff to take care of” Urban smiled.
“I’ll be ready to tell some people soon. I just want to get this started first” Jack sighed feeling the pressure.
“You do that when you’re ready dude! I’m not pushing you to tell anyone.” Urban shrugged.
“I wanted to tell Clay but he’s going to busy with his own stuff now.”
“You know he’s never too busy for you, you’re his brother.”
Jack sat back in the car and thought for a moment. “I’d rather tell him when I tell my parents.”
“That’s fair” Urban nodded but wondered why Jack hadn’t already told them . He usually didn’t keep secrets this big from his parents, at the very least Maggie. He wondered if he was nervous that his mother wouldn’t approve but didn’t want to push him to answer in this moment.
“Hey Urb?”
“What’s up?”
“Thanks” Jack smiled as he set the binder down beside him, a sense of peace coming over him.

Egg Donor Agencies: Choose the Best Agency for Your Needs
Egg donation has become a popular solution for couples struggling with infertility issues. Many people choose to work with egg donor agencies to find the perfect egg donor for their needs. However, with so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the right agency. In this article, we'll discuss the key factors to consider when choosing an egg donor agency and provide a list of the top egg donor companies in USA to help you make an informed decision.
Factors to Consider When Choosing an Egg Donor Agency
Reputation When choosing an egg donor agency, it's important to research their reputation. Look for reviews and testimonials from previous clients to get an idea of their experience with the agency. You can also check if the agency is accredited by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) or the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART). These organizations set guidelines and standards for fertility clinics and agencies, so choosing an accredited agency can give you peace of mind that you're working with a reputable organization.
Donor Database The quality and size of an egg donor agency's donor database is crucial. Look for an agency with a diverse pool of donors, so you can find a donor who meets your specific requirements. Some agencies also offer frozen donor eggs, which can be more affordable and convenient than fresh eggs.
Screening Process A reputable egg donor agency should have a thorough screening process for their donors. This process should include medical and psychological evaluations, as well as a genetic screening. Ask the agency about their screening process to ensure that they are following best practices and that you're receiving a healthy donor egg.
Support and Resources Choosing an egg donor agency can be an emotional process. Look for an agency that provides support and resources throughout the entire process, from selecting a donor to the actual egg retrieval. Some agencies also offer counseling services to help you navigate the emotional aspects of egg donation.

Surrogacy in China: Seeking out the other available options is always a good idea!
Surrogacy in China is trickier that it looks from outside. While many agencies and entities are carrying out surrogacy program in the country, the practice is banned as per the recent surrogacy laws in china.
So, regardless of whether you are looking for single parent surrogacy in china or gay surrogacy in china, you may have to look for alternate destinations in the same regards.
Tumblr media
What does surrogacy laws in China says?
The Ministry of Health put through the Procedures on the Administration of Human Assisted Reproductive Technology in August 2001 in light of the requirement for medical assistance during the surrogacy procedure. This is where Article 22 clearly outlines the penalties, which include a warning and a 30,000 RMB fine from the provincial health authorities for any health institution involved in surrogacy ( be it single parent surrogacy in china or gay surrogacy in china) .
Moreover, the sale of gametes, zygotes, and embryos is specifically prohibited by Article 3 of this regulation, and neither medical professionals nor institutions are permitted to use surrogate technology in any way.
The Ministry of Health also released four additional regulations in 2001 to further support the government’s staunch opposition to anti-abortion laws. These laws, despite being updated in 2003, support the view that surrogacy in china and other related practices are outright forbidden in the country, including inducing ovulation to produce multiple births and providing eggs for sale. However, local laws cannot be applied to those who pay for surrogacy services outside of China (i.e., outside of the country).
Surrogacy in china : Where to go next?
While surrogacy is completely banned in china, you can certainly look forward to other nations. While surrogacy may come at a cost in most of these countries, there are certain options like surrogacy in Kenya that offers affordable surrogacy programs to all.
Surrogacy in USA
Surrogacy in the United States is regarded as the best in the world for a number of important reasons. Access to the best fertility specialists is a big plus, even though the quality of medical care is unmatched. A surrogacy program is also open to anyone, regardless of gender, race, or religion.
Surrogacy in the USA has only one disadvantage: it is more expensive, with costs ranging from $150000 to $250000. Still, given the quality of service and satisfaction you are getting in return, the same shouldn’t pose a significant problem, though.
Surrogacy in Australia
Australia is another popular option for couples and single people looking for surrogacy. That said, you should be aware that only altruistic surrogacy is permitted in Australia, and even this is subject to regional laws and regulations. On the other hand, it is prohibited for Australian couples looking for surrogate mothers to use any form of advertising or marketing.
Additionally, using any sort of surrogate matching, sperm and egg donation, or similar services is prohibited. Therefore, if you want to pursue surrogacy in Australia, it is absolutely essential that you work with a reputable surrogacy clinic. Having said that, a surrogacy program in Australia would cost you $50,000 to $60,000.
Surrogacy in Canada
If you want to have children via surrogacy and money isn’t a major concern, surrogacy in Canada is strongly advised. In addition to having excellent medical facilities, the nation is home to some of the best IVF specialists. A surrogacy would also cost between $90,000 and $1,000,000 in Canada.
Consequently, we can draw the conclusion that choosing a surrogacy program in Canada is far more advantageous and hassle-free than utilizing a risky surrogacy plan with a low surrogacy cost in China. Again, intended parents should be aware that the Canadian surrogate mother waiting list is a little bit longer than usual.
Therefore, it is highly advised to connect with a reputable Canadian surrogacy agency that is familiar with the business from top to bottom.
Tumblr media
Surrogacy in Kenya
If you want to realize your child-seeking dreams on a budget, surrogacy in Kenya is without a doubt your best option. Furthermore, you can rely on the country’s reputable, excellent, and affordable surrogacy programs as well as its state-of-the-art medical facilities.
The main benefit of this program is that anyone can take part, regardless of their gender, caste, or religion. In addition, depending on the specifics of the procedure and other significant factors, the cost of a surrogacy in Kenya can range from $40,000 to $50,000.
Surrogacy in Ukraine
Even though the country is in a war like situation with the neighbor Russia, Ukraine is still the most popular surrogacy destinations. Additionally, intended parents must be aware that in this region of the world, only heterosexual couples are allowed to use surrogates. Furthermore, since Ukraine is home to some of the best medical professionals and facilities in the world, you won’t need to worry about the caliber of IVF care you’ll get during your particular surrogacy process.
On the other hand, it is also estimated that a surrogacy program in Ukraine would cost between $45,000 and $50,000. You must, however, continue with your surrogacy plans despite the fact that the nation is presently engaged in a warlike situation with its neighbor, Russia.
Final words
Despite the fact that surrogacy is illegal in China, you are still able to visit the other nations mentioned above to fulfill your parenthood dreams. Additionally, it is always advised to get in touch with the top surrogacy agency to make it all easier and convenient. By doing so, you can be sure that your surrogacy journey will be well-supported and assisted all along.
