I've been sitting on this achievement for about 4-5 days now, and my best Rider honestly deserves better than that, I think. Then again, considering his own myth and how he took Patroclus' passing as hard as he did, I know he wouldn't blame me for my writing being quiet.

Still wondering if I've really been feeling my grandpa's spirit hug me from behind every time I sing the Vietnamese hymm to let him go onto Nirvana leading up to the 49th day of death...

Ah well. The least I can do is write for him again with what energy I have.

Sometimes, Achilles could still remember the unease. The unending discord, the quiet foreboding. Even his goddess mother Thetis had cried tears over such things, much to his small, lingering regret as he went on to be the hero she wished him not to be.

It wasn't an unfamiliar feeling either, but it didn't make it any less uncomfortable when sensing it start to trickle down his spine at the sight of Vy wordlessly offering yet another Bond Chalice to him, smiling through the fatigued lines and dark shadows underneath her eyes. He knew she was a selfless, caring girl like that, giving Servants food and rest like they were people and not just heroes, but Achilles wondered sometimes, when the exact moment was in her life where she stopped looking after herself.

There was only so much Novum Chaldea could do, and "enough" was still a subjective term for things with the Foreign God lingering on the horizon like a motherfucking demon that really needed to get her head out of her ass.

Even then, the exasperated smile tugging at his lips was real as he reached past the rainbow flame, past the gold cup keeping him in the room, to rest his hands underneath the arms of the oh-so-human girl who summoned him.

Before, in another world, he had to serve a priest who had far too lofty goals for Achilles' liking, probably as nothing more than an extra bodyguard if Amakusa Shirou Tokisada had anything to say on the matter. Or Semiramis, being such a pompous, dishonest queen. How Atalante agreed to working with them back then was beyond Achilles.

Here, however, in a world that was Bleached beyond repair, he could at least be another Hero, a successful one this time, to a girl who deserved to be saved at least once.

Achilles could see Vy's lips move in a wordless cry of his nickname (heck, their bond could let him hear her voice it without it taking physical sound waves in the softest, sweetest tone, even when he knew she would only ever love one Hero as a man in her heart) once he lifted her up from her place trying to hand him another gift, letting the Bond Chalice fall to the floor of the Enhancement Center with a clatter. In his arms, she squirmed, looking more like a child than a weakened, traumatized Master with her loose ponytail and the wide look in her brown eyes that reflected his image. Still, her hands rested on his shoulders, not even giving a sign of resistance as he brought her close to him.

Bump, went their foreheads.

"Silly Master," he whispered in response to the questioning muu that Vy made as he closed his eyes. "You gotta remember you matter before you lose your voice trying to give me things."

I won't treat you like I did Penthesilea. Never.

Vy croaked a soft, "A..." just as Achilles bumped their heads together again. "Achi..."

"No buts, Princess," he continued, adjusting his grip so that she was protectively nestled into his chest, her hair tickling the side of his neck. Her waist was tiny in his arms, thin despite the muscle and taut flexing that served as proof of her training outside the simulator. "I told you with the first Bond Chalice, remember? I lost one love before." No. Maybe two, when counting the Great Holy Grail War. But still. He rested a hand in those long brown locks of hair, stroking it quietly. "I'm not going to stand losing you."

Achilles only let himself relax and press his cheek into the top of Vy's hair once he heard the squeaked, "O... Okay."

It was something, at least.

During the winter the nine-time champ spent more time than usual thrashing round his dirt track ranch, keeping himself mentally and physically sharp and getting used to a motorcycle moving around beneath him. He knows that Marc Marquez’s ability to ride on the ragged edge with a more muscular, more sideways style is changing MotoGP, so he needs to change with it. Rossi may never look as spectacular as Marquez on a dirt bike or a MotoGP bike, but both his former and current crew chiefs believe he can do better than he did last year, when Marquez made him look rather second rate.

Rossi on inviting Marquez to the ranch:

"Yeah, for sure, a lot of time. But I think that Emilio [Alzamora, Marquez's manager] is not very happy that Marc come because he said that after we make a race and maybe it's dangerous." (x)

^ Márquez won the first ten races of 2014 and this was the first time all year he was beaten in a straight duel. He couldn't handle Rossi's pace at Misano, so he ended up losing the front and falling.

Valentino was fast throughout practice and secured his first front-row start of 2014. [Rossi was asked after qualifying about the threat posed by Marquez and Lorenzo, identifying Lorenzo as the favourite before adding, "But you never know with Marc. ^ The breakthrough win at Misano. For the first time since his return to Yamaha he had gone head-to-head with Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Márquez and beaten them both. From this moment another world title was a possibility.

Ranch AU, where the chain live on a Ranch and all have horses.

Time - obviously Time is still in possession of Epona, but she’s in her late 20s at that point. Epona is a palomino Belgian draft/Appaloosa mix. She’s gentle with kids but has plenty of attitude to go around with adults XD 17hh

Twilight - Twilight has Epona’s one and only baby, also palomino, whose father was another Appy. Her registered name is Epona’s Legacy, but they just call her Lacy or Legacy for short. 16.2hh

Warriors - Warriors has an ex-police horse, a long-legged and tall gelding named Royal. Roy for short, he’s a Quarter Horse/Appaloosa mix. He’s bomb-proof and steady. 16.3hh

Sky - Sky has a Fjord/Morgan mix named Hawk. Smaller, but stocky and strong and gentle as a mouse. He’s a more reactive horse, and Sky balances him out by being more low-energy and calm. 15hh

Wild - A red Appy/thoroughbred mix dubbed Sriracha Sauce, with high energy and sensitivity. A perfect match for Wild, these two wear each other out. Sriracha was a rescue, who Wild nursed back to health himself. Sriracha was agressive originally, but Wild’s endless stamina and patience were able to train the horse into a better place. Now, Sriracha is a much more agreeable horse, approachable by all. He’s still really reactive and has thrown Wild more times than he can count, and isn’t the best-behaved to ride. However, Wild is actively working on it, and it’s something he can handle. Sriracha is not a perfect horse—no horse is, and Wild is just happy to have him and loves him. Sriracha is a one-man horse, and no one else is allowed to ride him but Wild. 16hh.

Hyrule - Hyrule has a pure-bred Rocky Mountain Horse named Hart. Hart is sweet and unafraid of anything, the primary kids lesson horse and therapy horse around the Ranch. He and Hyrule are known to go on long trail rides together. 15.1hh

Wind - Wind has a small but strong and opinionated Appy mare, aptly named Dragon. They both are loud and wild and reckless, and like to go fast. Wind and Dragon love to compete in a lot of classic western competitions—polebending, barrel racing, and especially keyhole. They hold several national and state records, and have plenty of ribbons. Wind also has a moo cow named Butter. 15hh

Four - Four’s ride is a little bay quarter horse/morgan. She’s sweet with kids, and incredibly intelligent, the secondary kids riding horse. But don’t let that fool you—she can be very cheeky when you least expect it, and don’t leave your food around her. She will eat it or dump it on the ground and step on it. 14.3hh

Legend - Legend owns the toughest horse in the barn, a black-as-night mustang/rocky mountain horse by the name of Raven. Raven is quiet and ultra-sensitive, and bomb-proof. Raven is another lesson/therapy horse, but for the more advanced riders. 15.3hh

I had no idea there was an Alex Rider show. I’m about halfway through season 1 and love it. When I tell you I devoured those books as a kid I mean it. (Percy Jackson who?? Just kidding I liked those too) And they’ve made changes, but that’s a given considering they were written in the early 2000’s and they can’t keep things the same since it’s set in modern day, but even the most obvious changes (Yassen coming in early, more focus on Ian’s death and on side characters etc) are interesting. But honestly I really really love it, and the actor they chose for Alex is wonderful.
