It was 54 years ago today!💐💐💐

May 12, 1971: Mick marries @biancajagger (Bianca Rosa Pérez Moreno de Macías) at St. Anne's Church, in St. Tropez, France. The Roman Catholic ceremony included guests like the other members of the Stones, Brigitte Bardot, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Bobby Keys, Ronnie Wood and Stephen Stills🍀

They finally split in 1977🪷

News of Mick and Bianca's wedding quickly spread, drawing crowds of fans and paparazzi. The couple couldn't avoid the media frenzy, and even Mick's father once told a reporter, "I hope my second son never becomes a superstar." Though their marriage lasted just seven years, it remains one of the most talked-about celebrity unions🌵

Praticamente tutte le celebrità del periodo andarono una sera a ballare nell'ex studio televisivo, alcuni diventarono clienti abituali - Andy Warhol, Liza Minnelli, lo stilista Halston, la principessa Diane von Fürstenberg, lo scrittore Truman Capote, altri facevano viaggi intercontinentali solo per esserci una sera, come la principessa Grace di Monaco. Tra gli italiani frequentatori ci furono Fellini, gli stilisti Fiorucci e Valentino. L'intuizione di Steve Rubell, socio del club con Ian Schrager, fu quella di far ballare nella stessa pista operai e star di Hollywood. Famigerata la zona balconata, antesignana delle moderne dark room, ma dove la luce era presente e illuminava uno sconsiderato uso di droghe e scene di sesso esplicito ed occasionale. Above, Legendary Damon, Curator of Culture, viewing exhibit photographs. Notice the iconic “Moon and Spoon” on the back of the blue jacket. The exhibit was a flashback to the shining memorable days of the glamour, the magic, the thrill, and the disco beat via photography, fashion, drawings, films, illustrations, artifacts, set designs, and music. I could feel the inspiration of Studio 54’s lighting and sets with the design of this exhibit. It’s organized chronologically, starting with popular New York nightclubs from the 1920s to the 1960s, including the Cotton Club and the Peppermint Lounge. A stunning exhibit captures the essence of Studio 54!
