I know nothing about how video games are created so as always and forever my words need to be taken with a grain of salt. I'm speaking from my limited and ignorant POV.

It's not the end of the world but I did notice some wonky lighting and especially animation in the gameplay trailer - and I'm wondering if they'll have time to fix that if the plan is to have the game be released this fall.

okay cyberpunk is finally clicking with me turns out I had to actually play through the intro lmao. DEVASTATING opening to a video game. They make u think this one guy is gonna be ur road dog through the game and then they kill him. I became very attached 😔 and I forgot about Keanu reeves.

when i made my character in dragon age: origins, i flitted through the different voice options with little care

but one stuck out to me. experienced.

“it’s like a weird sonic the hedgehog impersonation,” i said. “like if mark meer was pitching himself up.”

hours of gameplay pass. the entire time, my roommate and i are joking about ‘mark meer sonic’ every time raavar says anything in combat.

sometimes it sounds a lot more like mark meer than usual.

i’m perusing imdb for the voice of a different character when i spot him.

I had two prerequisites for ever buying another Dragon Age game and they are very simple requests because my expectations are low

let Inky who romanced Dorian actually be with him and be married like he gets to be with Iron Bull in Tevinter ffs

don't abandon or ruin Inky in your new game like Hawke or Warden. if Inky is included, let us control how they react to things even if they aren't a full on playable character

and I will not buy or touch or pay attention to the game until someone with a level of media literacy that I trust promises me I will get these

but tbh even if they do take care of these nitpick issues that are just very personal to me I will prob still pirate the game

I saw that Inky apparently has voicelines in character creation and that gives me a bit of hope but not much

i feel the same way about the fakeness thing!! It's definitely in part to me feeling jaded and then the dev stuff but i just don't want to be disappointed!!! and i feel like i will end up so because of how critical i am but like it's not 2014 anymore you know?

Just so you know, I am unphased by the gameplay & artstyle change! Dragon Age games games have never been consistent. My aesthetic gripe is more the camera's over reactive nature whenever the character moves & the blurry bloom on everything I've seen so far. That looks gross imo. I hope it can be turned off or mods figure out how to kill it early. (Ugly clothes are also a staple I love in Dragon Age. The cursed realism of ye olde clothing having clashing colours & styles by modern standards.)

But the treatment of the devs has been an increasing problem of Bioware, & definitely evaporated my goodwill to "put my trust" in them enough to preorder.

I'm 30, tired, & want the elven god killing game to be good! I love a lot of what some have hated in previous entries & am willing to give all in-game changes a chance. I'm not giving the Bioware/EA decision-makers the satisfaction of my money before seeing the product anymore.

I joked with friends that EA wants to kill Bioware soooo bad after their mandated destiny clone game failed. To the point whenever Bioware would release a smidge of "we're working on a new dragon age game :D it's going to be great!" as an announcement far too early in, it felt like there was an axe swinging above them & they thought if they generated interest, the board-ghouls would delay their death. I've seen other games in all stages of development canned with no warning (& studios destroyed the moment the game launches). I really feel like Bioware is in the same spot. Even as more gameplay footage is released & launch gets closer everyday, I still don't quite believe it's going to be real?

If they do release the character creator that bioware is "keen to release before launch" I might believe this game will survive.
