Facebook s’apprête à bousculer le secteur de la cryptomonnaie/ Échange de crypto-monnaie, bitflyer,CoinMarketCap,poloniex,bitfinex

LONDRES — Facebook doit révéler mardi les détails d’un projet qui devrait signer l’entrée du géant américain dans l’univers des cryptomonnaies. Un événement susceptible de révolutionner l’écosystème actuel des devises virtuelles. Que sait-on déjà? R  Cela fait plusieurs mois que l’intérêt de Facebook concernant les cryptomonnaies est connu et plusieurs informations ont déjà fait l’objet de fuites dans la presse, même si aucune n’a encore été confirmée officiellement. La BBC a révélé il y a trois semaines que le réseau social envisageait le lancement de sa monnaie virtuelle au premier trimestre 2020, d’abord dans une douzaine de pays. Adossée à un panier de monnaies, cette cryptomonnaie qui pourrait s’appeler «Libra» serait susceptible de transiter à partir d’applications détenues par Facebook, notamment Messenger et Whatsapp, qui regroupent plus de deux milliards d’utilisateurs. Plusieurs entreprises comme Visa, Mastercard, PayPal et Uber ont déjà rejoint le consortium créé par Facebook, selon le Wall Street Journal. D’après le quotidien Les Échos, l’opérateur télécoms Illiad, maison mère de Free, fait également partie des premiers investisseurs. Des partenaires dont la présence ne manque pas d’étonner Cathy Mulligan, chercheuse spécialisée dans les devises virtuelles, alors que «tout le monde a toujours considéré les cryptomonnaies comme des concurrents majeurs pour Visa ou Mastercard». S’exprimant à l’occasion d’un panel de discussion organisé à Genève, en Suisse, par l’ONU, Mme Mulligan s’est ainsi inquiétée d’une «monopolisation de ce qui pourrait être une cryptomonnaie mondiale». Q  Est-ce la même chose que le bitcoin? R  Pas vraiment. Comme la première et principale monnaie virtuelle décentralisée, la devise Facebook devrait utiliser la «blockchain» (chaîne de blocs), un registre décentralisé, public et infalsifiable, qui permet de garantir la fiabilité des échanges sans faire appel à un tiers de confiance. En revanche, la cryptomonnaie de Facebook ne devrait pas fluctuer librement selon l’offre et la demande, comme c’est le cas du bitcoin. Ce dernier, qui ne valait rien à sa création et a dépassé les 19 500 dollars en décembre 2017, a souvent été critiqué pour sa forte volatilité, jugée comme un frein à son adoption par le grand public. En effet, selon plusieurs études, le bitcoin est plus souvent conservé à des fins de spéculation qu’utilisé comme moyen d’échange. Facebook s’acheminerait donc vers la création d’un «stablecoin», une cryptodevise adossée à un panier de devises réelles censé en garantir le cours. Q  Est-ce positif ou négatif pour le bitcoin? R  Difficile à dire, au moment où le bitcoin vient de franchir lundi les 9200 dollars pour la première fois depuis mai 2018. L’engouement autour de la monnaie virtuelle de Facebook pourrait relancer l’intérêt pour les cryptomonnaies après une période de relative accalmie, voire de défiance. Cela «banalise les cryptos», a expliqué à l’AFP Neil Wilson, analyste pour Markets.com, qui y voit un signal «clairement positif» pour le secteur. En revanche, la puissance de frappe du géant américain, avec ses milliards d’utilisateurs, et son ambition de créer une monnaie décentralisée qui servirait véritablement de moyen d’échange, pourrait également porter un sérieux coup à l’intérêt du bitcoin et tirer les prix des autres monnaies virtuelles vers le bas. Q  Est-ce une première? R  Non, à la mi-février, la banque américaine JPMorgan Chase avait annoncé le lancement du JPM Coin, adossé également à un panier de devises réelles. Mais les ambitions des deux cryptomonnaies semblent différentes. Alors que le JPM Coin sera restreint à des transactions financières entre grands investisseurs, la devise virtuelle de Facebook, elle, pourrait potentiellement s’adresser à des particuliers qui ne disposent même pas de compte bancaire. WSJ는 컨소시엄의 일부 기업이 블록체인 네트워크 상에서 거래를 확인하고 유지하는 노드의 역할을 하게 될 것이라 전망했다. 페이스북은 지난해 12월 글로벌코인 출시를 발표했다. 업계는 페이스북의 글로벌코인이 일반적인 암호화폐와 달리 법정화폐에 연동돼 가치변동이 거의 없는 스테이블코인(가치안정폐) 이자, 왓츠앱, 인스타그램, 페이스북 메신저 등 페이스북의 여러 메시징 앱들과 연계돼 작동할 것이라 전망하고 있다. 영국의 공영방송인 BBC는 앞서 “글로벌코인은 페이스북과 소매업자를 곧장 연결해 신용카드 등 각종 중개업자들을 차단함으로써 소매업자의 이윤을 극대화 하는 역할을 할 것”이라 보도한 바 있다.

The digital currency industry is fired up about Facebook’s cryptocurrency efforts. Bitcoin bulls say the tech giant’s stamp of approval would legitimize the space, make it easier to buy other digital assets, and spark major financial institutions to get out of “wait and see” mode. “Facebook’s efforts in the space has the potential to be one of, if not the most significant external catalysts for bitcoin and crypto adoption in the technology’s history,” said Spencer Bogart, general partner at San Francisco-based investment firm Blockchain Capital. Several news outlets including Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal have reported that the company has been building its own digital currency for users to trade and spend through Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Some reports say Facebook is set to announce its plans this week, helping bitcoin rally above $9,000 to more than a one-year high. Facebook shares also jumped more than 3 percent Monday ahead of the expected announcement. The social network hired former PayPal executive David Marcus to begin exploring opportunities with blockchain, the technology behind bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. As it approaches a public release, there are now more than 100 people working on the project, according to information on LinkedIn, and Facebook is still expanding the team. The Information reported that Facebook is also planning physical, ATM-like machines where users can buy the currency and that company employees will be able to collect salary in the form of new currency. Lowering the barrier One side effect of Facebook’s entrance to the market would be an easier entry point for the average person to buy cryptocurrencies. But once someone is on-boarded to the world of digital assets, there’s comparatively less hassle in moving from one asset like Facebook’s, to another, like bitcoin, Blockchain Capital’s Spencer Bogart said. “Given Facebook’s distribution, the seriousness of their crypto effort, and the caliber of the partners they’re working with, they have a significant chance of onboarding much of the world to digital assets,” he told CNBC. Barry Silbert, an early bitcoin backer and founder and CEO Digital Currency Group, said the launch of Facebook’s cryptocurrency “will go down in history as THE catalyst that propelled digital assets (including bitcoin) to mass global consumer adoption” and will be remembered as “just as important -- and transformative -- as the launch of the Netscape browser.” Legitimizing crypto Bitcoin itself was formed as a way to bypass traditional financial rails. It first made international headlines after Tokyo-based bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox experienced a series of hacks and was later effectively frozen out of the U.S. banking system for regulatory issues and by 2013 shut down and filed for bankruptcy protection. Dark web marketplace Silk Road used bitcoin to facilitate transactions for guns, drugs and other illicit goods and was shut down in 2015. Bitcoin became known as the currency of choice for criminals, which is still how it’s categorized by some who question its use in modern finance. “Early bitcoin and crypto people are viewed as anarchists — many are anti government anti establishment with anti bank rhetoric — that’s why the big financial institutions have been wary of investing and supporting cryptocurrency,” said Jimmy Nguyen, president of the Bitcoin Association. “When you have a big list of institutional players come in, it does provide more legitimacy to this industry.” The first and most famous digital currency sparked mania among retail investors last year and brought it into mainstream finance. Bitcoin hit a high of nearly $20,000 at the end of 2017. Michael Moro, CEO of Genesis Global Trading, said the concept of cryptocurrency became increasingly normalized as that pool of traders grew. Investors are mostly past that “mental hurdle” and see bitcoin as less esoteric and less strange, he said. “I think Facebook coming out with their own coin would make digital currency more familiar to people,” Moro told CNBC in a phone interview. Another question for both bitcoin investors and skeptics was its eventual mainstream use case. Bitcoin was founded as a peer-to-peer payment but has largely taken form as a store of value, or “digital gold” instead. In that sense, Moro said Facebook’s cryptocurrency and bitcoin wouldn’t compete, and “serve two different purposes.” “People have always questioned how mainstream adoption of something like this might come about. Having the retail base that Facebook has certainly helps that,” Moro said. “It’s bullish for cashless society in general.” Nicholas Colas, co-founder of DataTrek research also said the move legitimizes bitcoin. And for every company that’s not a part of Facebook’s so-called Libra project, “there are thousands who are not.” “What technology will they use? Bitcoin is one answer,” Colas said. “The fact that Facebook et al even want to build a crypto currency validates the idea of a decentralized currency/payment system.” Infrastructure Others see this move as motivation for financial institutions to build the necessary rails to support crypto adoption. Fidelity was one of the early entrants by providing custody and trade execution on multiple exchanges for investors such as hedge funds and family offices with a new company called Fidelity Digital Asset Services. “With Facebook and its partners making a concerted push into the space, these financial institutions and payments providers can no longer afford to take a wait-and-see approach, they need to prioritize the buildout of supporting infrastructure now,” Blockchain Capital’s Bogart said. Part of the risk in cryptocurrency investing is how to prevent them from being hacked. Experts say that has largely barred institutions from embracing these digital assets. Facebook’s crypto effort may end up “catalyzing” the build-out of infrastructure like wallets, custody and compliance among large financial institutions and payments providers, Bogart said. Regulatory hurdles U.S. regulators have been hesitant to approve cryptocurrency products like an exchange traded fund, often citing news of hacks and cryptocurrencies’ potential for manipulation. SEC Chairman Jay Clayton said in November that he wants to see better market surveillance and custody for cryptocurrencies before being “comfortable” with a bitcoin ETF. Meanwhile Facebook’s ad model has come under criticism from Washington and privacy advocates for it uses detailed information about users. The social network and other tech giants like Google parent company Alphabet and Amazon are under fire from both sides of the political aisle ahead of the 2020 presidential campaign. The bar is especially high when it comes to financial services and the old Silicon Valley adage “move fast and break things” doesn’t fly with regulators, Genesis’s Michael Moro said. “Privacy and user data is of the utmost concern for anything related to Facebook,” he said. “It’s a hot button topic related to Facebook and I do think there will be questions around that data piece.” Although digital currency transactions can be anonymous, they can be tracked on a distributed ledger by the parties who have access. As a result, those with access to a potential Facebook project could have access to valuable data, said Nguyen, who is also CEO of blockchain company nChain. “It’s complicated because this would create a system with a lot of data — If I were a regulator I would be questioning how they are going to treat the privacy of that data,” he said. “Because it’s Facebook they’re going to be under more regulatory scrutiny.”

За месяц приток составил рекордные 11 236 BTC, это больше, чем за четыре предыдущих месяца вместе взятых. Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) работает только с квалифицированными инвесторами, минимальная сумма вложений состав��яет $50 тысяч. По информации фонда, 80% вложений в прошлом году пришлись на институциональных (66%) и аккредитованных (14%) участников рынка. Об интересе институциональных инвесторов к криптовалюте свидетельствует и то, что с декабря 2018 года премия при покупке ценных бумаг GBTC по отношению к чистой цене активов увеличилась на 40%. Напомним, ранее в мае акции GBTC вышли в лидеры по объему торгов на OTC Markets Group.

Entre 600.000 e 800.000 mineradoras de Bitcoin podem ter sido desligadas entre desde meados de novembro, em meio a quedas nos preços e na receita da rede, de acordo com o terceiro maior grupo de mineração do mundo. Bitcoin bulls took the price up from $8,200 to $8,350 in the early hours of Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, BTC/USD went up from $8,040 to $8,200. The price reached $8,240 before the bears corrected the market and took it down to $8,145. The bulls then re-entered the market and refused to let go off their stranglehold. If they continue their momentum, the $10,000 may get breached soon. The widening jaw of the 20-day Bollinger band shows increasing market volatility. The latest session of the daily BTC/USD price chart crept back inside the upper curve of the Bollinger band. On the upside, the closest resistance level lies at $8,350. The market is trending above the SMA 200, SMA 50, and SMA 20 curves. The signal line has diverged away from the MACD line, showing increasing bullish momentum. The relative strength index (RSI) indicator is trending in the overbought zone. The Elliot Wave Oscillator shows 15 consecutive bullish sessions.

Bitseven.com -В разговоре с Bloomberg аналитик платформы eToro Мати Гринспен выразил мнение, что внезапный тест ценой биткои на отметки $5000

обусловлен сугубо техническими факторами.По его словам, «цифровому золоту», наконец, удалось преодолеть 200-дневную скользящую среднюю (MA), воспринимаемую многими игроками как своего рода грань между медвежьим и бычьим рынками. Кроме того, цене удалось пройти важный уровень сопротивления на отметке $4200.

«Линия MA 200 в последние полтора года была крайне важной для биткоина. Это было техническое движение, вызванное скачком над $4200 — ключевым уровнем, за которым на протяжении нескольких недель наблюдало множество трейдеров. Там было обилие приказов стоп-лосс и ордеров на покупку», — делится наблюдениями Гринспен.

Также он отметил, что фаза накопления длилась на протяжении нескольки месяцев — с середины декабря. Таким образом, сильное движение было лишь вопросом времени.

«Сначала это были альткоины. Цены некоторых из них выросли вдвое, втрое и вчетверо. При этом биткоин оставался относительно стабильным»

Кроме того, он подчеркнул, что относительно низкую цену биткоина нельзя рассматривать как индикатор развития индустрии:

«На протяжении этой “криптозимы” мы наблюдали, как отрасль растет быстрыми темпами. Однако некоторые компании потерпели крах, поскольку нерационально управляли своими финансами, либо же полагались на очень высокие цены криптовалют»

Криптоаналитик Эдвард Морра, отметил, что на фоне сегодняшнего пампа цены биткоина на одной лишь бирже BitMEX ликвидировались шорт-позиции примерно на $500 млн.

Тем не менее глава BitMEX Артур Хэйес, по всей видимости, был очень рад сложившейся ситуации.
