@Blackredwhite has some interesting thoughts regarding my recent post about a Critical Race Studies course:

While not a question, I do have some pointers to your recent post regarding white students sitting at the back of university classrooms. It's noble of you to assume a reverse-privileged system, which is a given, but in this case it's not comparable to 'sitting at the back of a bus'. Actually, it's much more practical to sit at the back. For one, both the dispersion of acoustics and field of view are better. Less reverb due to the proximity of back-walls, as the most flutter-waves occur in the middle. Regardless of design; be it rectangular, shelled, either modern or amphitheater-like. Secondly, most classrooms are designed with exits at the back left- and rightmost sides. Wouldn't it be more convenient for Black students to traverse less; while those at the front would have to wait their turn and hurry to class faster? I assume it would be expected of whites to rigidly follow schedules, while the curriculum is more lenient towards Blacks. As an addition, I think the front-seated white setup nicely symbolizes being 'lower' (quite literally), putting us in a position oblivious to judgmental or reprimand-planning and proud gazes. Feeling your masters' breath onto your back, their will and your subjugation are better instilled into your subconscious.

I agree with every word of this.

As white students, we should feel the gaze of our Black co-students on our backs all the time. Making sure that our full attention is on the lecture and on taking copious notes, while Black students are free to relax a little, maybe go on social media or join the all-Black group chat to discuss the participation of the white students.

You're right to assume that the curriculum is more lenient towards Black students. They don't need to learn about white guilt, after all. While the course is mandatory for white students, it is an optional, "easy A" class for Black students.

Given all of this, I think an exception should be made for the "hot seat" sessions, in which white students are made to confess their latent racism in front of the class.

During this grueling session, I feel it is important for the white student to make eye contact with the Black students. As we confess the time we crossed to the other sidewalk as two tall Black men approached late at night, we should be made to see the reactions of those Black people who've suffered the consequences of such white stereotyping.

All Real Things Twinfold

1.

Lilac creeps through the rusty lattice,

crawls on the cobblestones; never meant,

merely witnessed.

2.

Looking closer, the filth

reveals itself fountain,

clogged; horses revel,

blood red, their hooves

corroded by the shit they soak in.

3.

The neighbor calls for his hissing cats

to show fairness; he has planted

bamboo, eight stalks nudely rising

in the middle of a junkyard. He pleads

for grace; the cats ignore him.

4.

A patch of grass, bared like starving teeth,

suffocates under a carpet,

swirling blackredwhite;

violets sprout around, and refuse.

5.

Bird shit illuminates my windowsill.

Bird songs stain my stillnights

of white fever, tense with absence,

drawn desire.

Would you give your followers a better look into your tastes? What are your clothing style choices? Professional, casual, feel-good. Do you choose elements and combinations to bring out your long red hair, pale skin, blue eyes and big breasts - regardless of having a bf - to present yourself attractive for confidence-boosts, possible work promotion, testing and increasing your surrounding's composure and simply because you can? How about makeup? How much do they differ from what you'd wear in your fantasy world's respective settings? A more naughty and insolent addendum, since we're anonymous (a tactically optional truth to increase your followerbase with its answer :P): ever since your daydreamings ventured into a Blacked world/future, admittedly being pushed into from an unsatisfied sex-life; do you present yourself less desirable to your bf?

Okay, these are really three different questions:

What's my everyday style? I work somewhere with a professional dress code. Depending on the season I wear a blazer, a button-down shirt, pants or long skirt, and pumps. Makeup is light and natural.

And I have to disappoint you: I don't have big breasts, so I don't dress to show those off.

What would I wear in my fantasy society? In my fantasy society I wouldn't work in an office. Due to Racial Justice in Employment laws, I would have been let go, along with most other white-collar whites.

I would probably be working some service job, like selling frozen bananas at the mall food court. The dress code is "ghetto flirty": Tight denim booty shorts, a midriff-baring shirt tied in a knot, and a trucker cap with the company name on it.

Like most other white girls, I wear my hair in braids, a subtle nod to the all-encompassing influence of African culture.

Do I present myself as less desirable to my (white) boyfriend? I have to admit I do. I don't think it's solely because of my interracial daydreams - some of it is simply due to the comfortableness of having been in a long relationship. But when I get home from work I usually change into more homely clothes, snug and un-sexy.
