Peace and Love, Black Family! Superficially, community “activism” looks good for optics! Feeding the homeless, protesting for injustice, filing petitions, and so on is great when you want people to point and say, “______ is out here in the community doing this or that!” But what we as Afrikans MUST change is our THOUGHT PROCESS—FIRST & FOREMOST! Without changing our thoughts we remain in the same position as our ancestors. Surely, we need to be active in the community, but without changing our ideology, our community activism is just going along with the traditional Black Activist minstrel show! GET ON CODE. STAY ON CODE.🩸💣🔫✊🏾 BLACK POWER! #blackpower #blacklove #blackman #blackwoman #blackempowerment #blackrevolution #blackrevolutionary #revolution #truth #knowledge #blackconsciousness #intimacy #blackpower #blackqueen #blackunity #blacksunite #blacksunited #blacknationalism #african #panafrican #blackpeople #blackowned #malikismindful https://www.instagram.com/p/CpIgxWHONQ9BbMFZstmgon5kBWSBYwymUUuSsc0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Reposted from @wearepushblack Bayard Rustin was one of the most pivotal organizers of the civil rights era whose legacy remains marginalized because he was an openly gay Black man. His work organizing one of the most significant marches in Black history is a part of a revolutionary legacy that we cannot allow to be refuted. His queerness was never a 'distraction' from our liberation. It's the 'leaders' who were preoccupied with homophobia rather than the task at hand that derailed the movement for our freedoms. Fortunately, Dr. King and Rustin's mentor A.Philip Randolph were clear on what some still struggle to accept today: that the fight for Black liberation IS for and should be inclusive of ALL Black people. ✊🏿 #PushBlack #TodayInBlackHistory #RIPBayardRustin –––– We all know schools aren’t teaching Black history correctly. Peace and Love, Black Family! Don’t feel sad or get angry when you imagine the pain and suffering our ancestors endured as chattel, because they had only one choice to get out of the situation — DEATH! Those who didn’t choose death, choose to comply with the terms and agreement of their captivity, and here we are! Today, we have more than enough opportunity to escape these corporate plantations. We have more than enough knowledge to cripple the United States if we chose to do so. No, don’t feel sorry for them, they had only one choice, while we have MANY. On a larger scale, we choose to invest more and more of ourselves into this system, so how can we change? How many of us truly “can” leave these “Divided States of AmeriKKKa” without leaving our closest, beloved relatives? Not many! Undoubtedly, the United States couldn’t be where it is in history without Black people. We made them who they are today, but what do we have to show for it? Directly or indirectly. The question is, “What are we doing for Self?” I know that many of us have businesses, and that is a major step in gaining PERSONAL FREEDOM! For it seems that is ALL we can focus on, our PERSONAL FREEDOM. Many Black people at this point in time are so committed to the White power structure by proxy, and stand to lose what has been deemed as comfort. Truly, it is complicity masked as assimilation! We may never see the establishment of a Black Nation, NOT because it cannot be done, but because too many Black people have invested too much into the White power structure for their own personal gain, and refuse to lose that. Black people are still slaves, we are just mesmerized by the renovated cotton fields that now look like big tall buildings with cubicles and offices, computers, and electronic gadgets. YOU…ME…WE ARE STILL ON THE PLANTATION! GET ON CODE. STAY ON CODE.🩸💣🔫✊🏾 BLACK POWER! #blackpower #blacklove #blackman #blackwoman #empowerment #blackrevolution #raceonly #blackpeopleonly #black #revolutionary #power #truth #knowledge #blackconsciousness #blackpower #blackqueen #blackunity #blacknationalism #african #panafrican #blackpeople #blackowned #malikismindful

Happy bornday to the Mrs. Angela Davis. Angela Yvonne Davis is an American political activist, academic scholar, and author. She emerged as a prominent counterculture activist and radical in the 1960s as a leader of the Communist Party USA, and had close relations with the Black Panther Party through her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. Her interests include prisoner rights; she co-founded Critical Resistance, an organization working to abolish the prison-industrial complex. She was a professor (now retired) at the University of California, Santa Cruz, in its History of Consciousness Department and a former director of the university's Feminist Studies department.(Wikipedia) #angeladavis #beautifulblackwomen #greatblackwomen #blacklivesmatter #blackrevolutionaries #freedomfighters #blackisbeautiful #treasureourown #thingstheydontteachyou https://www.instagram.com/p/B7y1ekWH5JT/?igshid=12swm6h71jb6s

i celebrate Black History year-round, honoring the legacy and love that allows me to be where i am today. Every day, i honor the power of Blackness (which, to me, is more about an energy, a particular level of consciousness--something i will elaborate on in a future post). But this is the month to be, as a friend called it, Black AF. In respect to the first day of Black History Month, which was originally proposed and launched by Carter G. Woodson as Negro History Week, i dedicate this particular post to the radical prayers, meditations, dreams, and visions of the ancestors; the imagination and creativity that was coupled with a divine innerstanding/inner-knowing of Purpose in Creation. Because of yOur faith, i am. Because of yOur love, we are: Black. Magick. *To be clear, our history did not begin with slavery. #whatisblack #blackhistorymonth #lovingblacknessaspoliticalresistance #blackness #blackconsciousness #blackmagic #blackradicalimagination #prayer #meditation #negrohistoryweek #cartergwoodson #purpose #creation #innerstand #blackpolitics #blackyogi #honoringtheancestors #blackrevolutionaries #blackaf #spiritualjourney #souljourney #goldenhistory #goingbeyondblack

Reposted from @malik_is_mindful To be a Black Nationalist (BN) is the same as being an African Nationalist, and can be used interchangeably. For the sake of fluidity and not to flip flop terminology, I will use Black Nationalist or BN during this post. As a BN, your only concern is to build a Black Nation—period, point blank! The ultimate goal is to ensure the survival of the Black race, the cultures of historically Black states globally, and most specifically in Africa! Far too often, Black Nationalists are criticized for our duality. On one hand, everyone champions us when we spread self-love, self-respect, self-acceptance, self-help, pride, and unity. But as soon as we express the ugly side of what keeps us under the thumb of White pseudo-supremacy to address bigotry, intolerance, hatred, sexism, homosexual agendas, Jewish roles in our oppression, pseudo-science, irrationality, dogmatic historical restructuring, and self-defense we are NOT supported most times by our own people. It seems that the WHY for it all goes over their heads, and all they see is a group of SELF-LOVING BLACK PEOPLE who appear to be motivated more by hatred of their enemies than love of their people. Smh! I am an unapologetic Black Nationalist and that’s all it is to it! For clarification, I see Black Nationalism as a deeper aspect of Pan-Africanism, not to be interchanged. All Black Nationalists can be Pan-African, but ALL Pan-Africans cannot be Black Nationalists. There ARE some PA’s who believe that outside support is a requirement of our empowerment, and overlook that we have no allies in Abibifahodie! We must consider what is best for us and us ONLY—THEN WE MUST SAFEGUARD IT WITH EVERY BREATH WE TAKE! GET ON CODE. STAY ON CODE.🩸💣🔫✊🏾 BLACK POWER! #blackpower #blacklove #blackman #blackwoman #blackempowerment #blackrevolution #racefirst #motivation #spiritualwarfare #loyalty #blackrevolutionary #power #truth #knowledge #blackconsciousness #blackpower #blackqueen #blackunity #blacksunite #blacksunited #blacknationalism #african #panafrican #blackpeople #blackowned #malikismindful https://www.instagram.com/p/CPBRaCpl6DLodU-9Ep3Efu8nUe9-QvUtQZXoHQ0/?utm_medium=tumblr
