hiii, long time no see! i wanna get back into working on this blog, so here's the first request kitty! Volewhisper!

i based him heavily off his sister, Dawncloud! her eyes are blue with a little yellow in them, and Vole's are yellow with a bit of blue! i'm not rly sold on the lighter flecks for him, but i added em anyway.

drawing so much Scooby Doo stuff lately has left me really enjoying adding stubble to characters lol. i think it looks cute, and honestly suits Volewhisper well.

i rly liked this guy in Exile from Shadowclan. him and Nightstar's relationship was very cute. i wonder what happened to him. Blackstar still assumes he's dead at his warrior ceremony, so presumably Vole left Shadowclan or died before Blackstart had rejoined? i like to think the former honestly.

unrelated, i kinda like the hc that Featherstorm also had an affair, and that Vole and Dawn aren't Blizzardwing's (with Mosspaw being Blizzard's). i just like ridiculous relationship drama in wc, and there was no shortage of that in this era of shadowclan lmaoo

studying for my technical interviews coming up (generally, power generation and storage-related) and i keep fucking. tearing up. actual human tears. about blackstarting power grids. specifically how close (literally four minutes) Texas came to a full statewide black poolout in 2021. the level of loss of life that could have occurred with a full blackout/blackstart. the level of loss of life that occurred even with the "rolling" partial blackouts. i feel like blackstarting a grid is one of the more intense things one could be a part of, one of the most critical coordination problems with high cost if coordination fails. something that would be an honor, almost, to be a part of - but not an honor. may it not be necessary in our lifetimes.

that is the 2019 Philadelphia Oil Refinery Explosion, because Oil Refineries are one of the most dangerous facilities imagible, now lets move on to Lac Megantic on the Railroad between Montreal and St John which is where Canada's largest Oil refinery is what happened in 2013 on the Montreal Maine and Atlantic? oh look destroyed town, Nuclear is the alternative

These wheatears inhabit rocky deserts and shrublands in parts of northern Africa and the Middle East. They eat insects, including beetles, ants, and caterpillars, foraging mostly on the ground. Females build shallow cup-shaped nests from grass, leaves, other plant materials, and hair in crevices in rocks, between boulders, or in abandoned burrows. They incubate the eggs alone, but both parents feed the chicks.

 Thank you guys, for literally the best year, I love theorizing with y’all, all the wonderful memes, and screaming crying about our favorite characters. Thank you Cassie for giving us the perfect Blackstarts adventure. Even though I’m sure this is not their sendoff, i’m really glad to witnessed their grove and the ending of an era. What is blackstart?

Blackstar is basically as close to ‘military’ as the Monster world allows. It describes a division of monsters-specifically comprised of Wrath demons-who because of their nature are allowed to meddle in war affairs of humans. (I.E. Participate, carry out assassinations, push towords the more favorable outcome.) despite the monster community having to go underground because of humans-Monsters pull a lot of strings since many of them use humans as a food source. So if Humans just wipe themselves out, where would that leave monsters? They usually align themselves with whichever side of the fight is more ‘Just’, as Demons love tearing apart Sinners and the Unjust.

Blackstar Agents are agents who aren’t Wrath Demons, but have served alongside them and now do ‘lighter’ work in trying to create change and reform in certain areas and make sure word about the Community doesn’t get out They monitor and basically keep an eye on things that could prove later to be a threat to the Monster Community. If a Blackstar agent has infiltrated your place of work-be concerned, it means that whatever you’re working for is already a corrupt system and the Agents are there to see if it’s worth keeping around.

but now i awaken

and i see her, beginning into the wilds

warm condensate, breathed by a mug she holds

and she extends it to me

i drink from it, and it embraces me

i remember what it is to be warm

a warmth i once knew the name of

a name, perhaps slowly now finding me

and i look now to her hand, still outstretched

and i take it in mine

and she leads me back, through the clearing

to the place i once called home

i step inside, and it's just how I'd left it

the armchairs' views, juxtaposed

two pairs of dirty shoes, together resting

fissile fibers stock the kit before the hearth

together we sit, insulating a warmth near forgotten

the lines delineating our figures begin to blur

my heart resonates an old tone, a golden one

she sleeps before i, but she is not absent

and to their sweet song, i too find a warm rest
