Part 4 - Chapter 1 - Alma Mater Takedown

Hi! Hello! How are you? It's been a hot minute, eh? Thank you for your patience with my hiatus. I have a more comfortable buffer of chapters so it's time to start posting again!

As said above, I'm going to aim for monthly updates starting with part 4. You can't rush creativity! And I think I have enough good fluff and angst to appease you as we go forward.

Part 3 ended with Izuku and Katsuki successfully rescued from the League of Villains. But Izuku learned more than he had bargained for during the kidnapping. All For One was his father and wanted him to become a Villain. A horrifying realization made incredibly awkward now that Izuku possesses One For All on top of his family drama. Despite all of that, he still aims to become a Hero who fights Quirkless.

On the fluff side of all the angst, Izuku and Shouto have finally kissed. Now I'm a sucker for mushy fluff so we have officially broken that barrier. I don't necessarily know how far I will go in regards to mature/explicit content. -i do read smut myself but i'm human so sue me- Whatever happens, for those who aren't here for that, I'll note when those moments are so you can skip them. Other than that, I'm just letting the story flow.

More serious stuff, DO NOT REPOST ANY part of BC. I post on fanfiction.net and ao3. The only ones with permission are on my linktree and any that aren't do not have my consent. That goes for other fanfiction websites and youtube and really any other site you can post fanfiction. If you find them, please let me know so I can report them. Please and thank you!

And that is my take down of Aldera! This is as much as I'm going into them facing consequences. Anything else regards to a trial and sentencing I'll let you guys fantasize on your own. There are more important plot points for me to focus on but hey! Aldera be facing consequences. You can see my post on the OC on the tumblr here.

Fun Facts About Japan:

Not sure if I covered this before or not, but putting it here anyway. The Japan school structure has them in a trimester time table instead of the two term semester system in the US.

First term - April to July Summer break - end of July to early September Second term - September to December Winter break - end of December to about mid January Third term - January to March Spring break - end of march to early April

Basically a lot more schooling that US kiddos go through. Even during the breaks. For summer break specifically, students still come to school despite it being a break. The reason why is club activities. Students still have club duties to complete and so will come to school to do them. From art club, chorus, and even sports clubs, they will come in the heat of summer to do those duties whatever they may be.

This is also the time with English contest applicants work with their teachers and ALTs to practice and help perfect their speeches. When I first arrived through the JET program, it was at the end of July and our first tasks was helping those students. A bit nerve-wracking when first starting out in a foreign country that was for sure. XD Yes, I am a native English speaker and therefore considered an 'expert' but that did not make me an expert at teaching English.

That came with experience and learning how Japanese people approached English as well. I met a wide range of students who either would work super hard to have a natural accent or they would rely on sounding it out in what I called Katakana English. Which is them using the sounds of the Japanese alphabet to form the words instead of the actual English pronunciation. That was a constant thing we had to work on. Either way, the students did always try their best and I'm proud of them all. ^____^

Blank Canvas: Renaissance - OC: Kantoku Shirei

Your author, joker, here! This is a post to show my OC created with help from peeps on the discord. Kantoku Shirei was created to serve as the principal of Aldera for when Nezu confronts the school for wrongs against Izuku. A throw away but he felt needed. I’ll put the deets below the line for visual convenience.

Let's start with a sketch of this sketchy guy! :P

Again, he's a throw away and we only read about him in basically one chapter. But again, he felt needed and this is what I came up with.

Name: Kantoku Shirei 監督 指令

監 : oversee, official, govt. office, rule, administer

督 : coach, command, urge, lead, supervise

指 : finger, point to, indicate, put into, play (chess), measure (ruler)

令 : orders, laws, command, decree, good

(I'm not bothering to include the pronunciation this time but you can look up the characters!) But basically it's supposed to mean 'administer directive'.

Quirk: Directive

can point at a small object and give it an order

nothing bigger than a shoebox

his specialty is toy soldiers (quirk first came when playing with toy soldiers as a child)

must point to object to direct command to that object

Mutation: Extendable fingers

pointer finger can extend like a metal pointer

others can too but not as long

also fingers are tipped with a metal tip instead of a finger nail (likes to tap tips to show impatience)

does not need to extend fully to use quirk but helps direct commands

Beyond the name and his quirk, I didn't really do much else in fleshing out the character. No exact age but he's an older guy. Basic short black hair and black mustache/goatee vibe. Wears basic suits with a basic tie and is just all around basic.

Personality wise he's a puppet master of sorts. He uses his quirk to control toy soldiers to patrol the school. His office is filled with toy soldiers ready and able to do his bidding. Like write letters or carry various files and office equipment. So he's like a general leading his troops. He used to be happy and full of whimsy. That is until the old ancient age of 25 which is a decrepit age in anime. Not sure what happened but he lost the whimsy and adopted a 'if I had to be miserable then so do you' attitude. He's really just supposed to be a quirkist prick and again is a throw away.

Part 3 - Chapter 36 - Despair

Happy Halloween! :D It's update time again. All aboard for our continued journey on the angst train. Sorry, not sorry! We've got guilt and tears this chapter so I hope you enjoy! I'll be spending the rest of the day working on carving pumpkins. If anyone has some fun designs, let's share 'em on the discord! :D

The nicknames! Finally after dozens and dozens and dozens of chapters and countless words, the nicknames are back! People have been commenting they've missed the use of Kacchan ever since Izuku stopped using it back in part 1. I always wanted it to come back but not for anything less than a strong emotional reason. Which just so turned out to be heartbreak. Heh. But it happened!

And a new nickname has been born too! My whole thought is that Katsuki has a two syllable nickname engrained in him. But Deku is out. No more. Bye bye. See ya! But I thought Zuku could be a fun replacement and a step forward for him. ^____^ A small step on his path to redemption. Still long to go though but progress!

Izuku's got a theory about Kurogiri. I'm not sure how it will affect the story, but I like having Kurogiri be a bit more self aware than in canon. Still strongly conditioned but there are bits of his former self showing through. Idk. I want redemption for him too! -throws out redemption like sprinkles-

Well now Katsuki knows about Dad For One. We'll have to see how he processes this in the future. Even I'm still figuring that out. For now though they have more important things to worry about. Like staying alive and escaping. Hang in there, boys! Your time with the League isn't over yet.

O'keee, that's it for this time! Like I said. It's pumpkin carving time. I'll share 'em to the discord when I finish. Coming up, we get an update from class 1-A and let me tell ya, Hitoshi is not having a good time. Though that shouldn't be all that surprising. Don't worry. I do have some comfort in line for him. Blank Canvas: Convictions - OC: Taikan Gosei

Your author, joker, here! This is a post to show my OC created with help from peeps on the discord. Taikan Gosei is his name and being kind and in Hitoshi’s corner is his game! :D I’ll put the deets below the line for visual convenience.

First off, let’s start with a picture of this guy!

He’s not going to make much of an appearance. Just when it comes to dealing with Hitoshi’s foster situation. I just felt that Hitoshi needed someone who was on his side at the foster center. Taikan is the man for the job.

Name: Taikan Gosei,  耐感 御情 

耐 (タイ, tai ) meaning 'endure',  

感 (カン, kan) meaning ‘feeling’, 

耐感 together means ‘resistance’, 

御 ( ゴ , go ) for honorable/manipulate/govern, 

情 ( セイ , sei ) for feelings/emotion/passion among many others

Other details on him. Taikan is 58, male, brown eyes, red fur with streaks of grey from aging, and his skin is more of a tan color but he’s more hair than the average person. His Quirk is an emitter type that allows him to feel the emotions around him as well as minorly manipulate the emotions of those near him. Nothing too drastic but enough to lower someone’s anger or make someone sad a bit happier.

Personality wise he’s a kind person who likes to help and work with kids which is why he works at the foster center. He’s also a peaceful man who would rather settle matters calmly and without confrontation. He does come to the defense of those who have a tougher time but manages to settle any tense situations with his calm demeanor and a bit of help with his Quirk. Also, despite him being a kind man, he still faces discrimination because of his appearance being seen as scary. Which unfortunately he can feel how others think about him because of his Quirk but he never let it get to him over the years.

Part 3 - Chapter 21 - A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

Thank you for your patience, dear readers! Sorry for the wait. I was a little busy being a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding. :P Tiny bit preoccupied. But we're back with more fluff! If you're interested, I chose this style of dress in steel blue. ^____^

Did a small edit last chapter. I forgot to add where Ochako was placed since she's also living in the dorms. A simple fix.

So...there were guesses it would be Bakugou that shows up. It's not. Just going to rip off that bandaid now before we get to the chapter.

Warning for teasing. There's a very brief one at ["Please take care of him..."] to about [The blonde winked...] but it's really not that bad. To the point a warning is probably not necessary but I will just in case. There's also another one at ["Though I figure..."] but again very brief.

Alright! Izuku is starting to slowly acclimate to the dorms, but it'll take him some time to fully adjust. But not to worry. He's got a supporting Shouto to help him along the way. For Shouto changing his room, I referenced the MHA School Briefs Vol. 3 for his reaction to his room and where he found the supplies. I made my own changes because of the differences in BC from canon, but I still drew on how he felt about the original western style of his dorm room.

I hope I used the French correctly. I was looking up names of endearment and chou came up as meaning either a cream puff or cabbage. Various websites say it's more for someone you love but I went more with the green vegetable theme. :P

So, the character we haven't seen in a while was the OC I made for this with help from peeps on the discord. You can read up his post on the tumblr here. He was introduced in BC part 2 chapter 39.

Shouto finally learned about his nickname!! :D So Peppermint Prince was decided in BC part 2 chapter 52 but Shouto wasn’t there for that. And I realized this was the first time he would be hearing it.

They had an ATLA watch party! :D It was first suggested in BC part 2 chapter 11 though I don't remember by who exactly. XD Sorry. Does this mean I'll be rewatching the series the nth time for ideas? Yes, yes it does. Also Izuku has sort of seen the 'research material' but it's still a mystery to him yet.

Sh-sh-shout out to Isn’t Sane and cooper on discord for Sh’s fantasy AU classes/professions! That little rant was fun to write.

IT HAS BEEN DONE. HITOSHI IS NOW ERASERMIC'S FOSTER CHILD. Freaking finally. I've been sitting on this idea since we first learned about Hitoshi's situation after the sports festival. The trope of Hitoshi being a foster kid and then adopted especially by these two is definitely one of my favorites. Inko would have be fun too but she got beaten to it. ;) Besides, Hitoshi deserves to be surrounded by cats.

For Aizawa and Yamada going in civilian, that's for investigative purposes. They don't know who they can trust and only revealed they're heroes to Taikan because he clearly wants to help. Taikan will show up from time to time as the investigation goes along. Man, Nezu is going to have so much on his plate with a third investigation but you know he loves it.

Fun Facts About Japan:

This one is requested by StrayCatRunning so we're going to talk about honorifics. In Japanese there are so many honorifics from friends to family to coworkers to professions to royalty. Just so so many. You can see a complete (I think?) list here. Though the most common would be these ones. For this chapter I'm going to focus on the use of -san, -kun, and -chan as requested.

The most commonly used of those three is -san. It's for general use with boys, girls, and anyone in between. It's basically the standard Miss, Mr, Ms, Mrs and you can use it with friends, acquaintances, strangers, or anyone on your equal social level or below. For my situation I didn't really use honorifics because they wanted us to use English as much as possible. But if I were, I would use it for coworkers and students. The students would also use -san amongst themselves and then -sensei for teachers.

For -kun, it's kind of like -san but a bit different. You can use it for friends, junior coworkers, or young boys. It is considered a male centric honorific and in my experience it is not used for girls. One time in class, I was calling out a student's name for something or other and accidentally used -kun for a girl and the students and teacher laughed at me! The little stinkers. So teachers and students would address with -kun for boys and -san for girls.

As for -chan, it's meant as a cutesy and endearing honorific. Definitely common for children and it's considered a female honorific. Apparently you can use it for your grandmother too if you wanted. It adds a bit of cuteness and is used between those who know each other well. And I believe it can be used for nicknames as well regardless of gender like we have with Kacchan for MHA. It would just be up to your personal preference really. Though I feel that nicknames like that would stem from childhood typically.

So yeah. Hitoshi is now part of the YamaZawa family and his case has officially begun. Next update is the obligatory shopping escapades of Hizashi wanting to shower his boys with love.
