The moment Lucy lost her eyes. This is fanart for the Blind Lucy AU. I wanted to do my first ever gruesome artwork and see how brutal I could make it. This is the moment Dimaria took the first stab, and i tried to draw Lucy in kind of a shocked expression like shes still processing what just happened

I dont really like how it turned o it though, i kinda wanna redraw it cuz its mid. But anyway pls go check out the BlindLucyAu its a really good AU and yeah idk what else to say

i can’t tell you enough how much i love blind lucy au. i am the 0# defender that she should’ve at least lose sight of one eye, and your au is just so ARRRGH im so in love with it. please give me more I CANT GET ENOUGH NATSU IS SO SOFT WITH HER

also, how is she in the battle now? And, not because she is blind but because of what happened, Natsu is more protective of her? Does Wendy felt bad that she couldn’t give Lucy her sight back? (also im thinking of her touching natsu’s face just to remember his face and 😭)

And to answer your questions, I've been thinking a lot about what you just asked me! I can't really figure out how she would fight now without her sight, but I'm thinking about it.

Natsu is def more protective of her, but it was more prominent the first months after losing her sight, wich I think it's a really natural response (knowing how protective he is of her, and feeling like he broke the promise he made her of protecting her future).

About Wendy, yeah, as part of the angst, I picture her feeling guilty for not been capable of bringing her eyes back. Not feeling worthy to show herself to the guild, Natsu and Lucy. (obviously no one blames her, but you know how wendy is, my sweet girl)

And about Lucy touching natsu's face, if you don't mind, I want to draw that in the future because is absolutely adorable and I completely forgot blind people actually do that lmao.

I been wondering would Natsu still take Lucy on the quest. Would he even go? I know that's a year in the future but seems like something they wouldn't want to put her through given everything that happened.

Now that's an interesting question, if I'm honest, I have absolutely no idea lmao.

I think they wouldn't take the quest right away, Lucy still needing to get used to not beeing able to see, figuring out how to fight etc.

Even Natsu would be aware that taking the quest so soon would only put lucy in danger.

Maybe after a few years? Who knows, but the quest would be put on hold for sure.

So, today is my birthday and THE amazing @tokkias has written a fanfic based in my BlindLucyAU and I’m crying and I love them so much OKEY IM DONE

Do you think Lucy would use a cane to help her get around on her own for your blind au? I feel like Natsu would be hesitant to let her out of his sight, but she wouldn't want her life to stop if he's not around to help navigate. I also like the idea that not only would her other senses eventually catch up and help step in for her vision, but they would be close to that of a dragon slayers. I think it would be pretty kickass for her to still be able to fight because losing her vision causes her hearing and sense of smell to get way enhanced.

I've been thinking about this a lot!! The first months she really didn't need one since Natsu absolutely refused to leave her side, so pretty much he became her human cane lmao. But as you said she can't rely on Natsu all her life, so yes, I do think she eventually uses one when she gets out of the house to go to the market and other daily things.

About her senses, I've been thinking on making someone teach her magic to heighten them, while they would naturally improve, I don't think they would reach dragon slayer level.

Sadly I don't have her new way of fighting figured out but her senses will defenetly play a really impotant part in it!

THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW (the people being me) just how blind is lucy in your au? since blindness is a spectrum and there are very few who see nothing at all. can she see light/shadows? or is her vision blacked out in some spots but blurry in others? is vision in one eye better than the other? this is all very important information to me

That's something that's been going through my mind recently.

I just want to say that both of her eyes have been COMPLETELY removed (post incident). Dimaria did so much damage that keeping them would only risk lucy's life, so they had to remove them.

So, taking in count that she doesn't have eyes at all I would assume that she can't even recognize shadows or light. But this is something I need to do some research on because I don't really know if it works like that.

also wanted to share that I recently discovered that people who lost their vision later in life still see in their dreams, since their unconscious remembers what it feels like to see. do with that information what you want ;)

Well, right now I'm so busy that I barely have time to think about many things, including my au, so no, not really.

I know it's something I'm going to have to touch on sooner or later but I don't have much idea what their reactions would be like. Only Natsu's (being the one who found her) and Wendy (who tried to heal her). But please, let your imagination fly and enlighten me.

Now, about the dreams you just mentioned, you have inspired me for a lovely angsty comic and if you want to add that to your new chapter, I would love to read about it ;)
