My white cane is pretty beat up and I need new replacement tips. I had this thing since 2016. The store I got it from is no longer open. I called 10 places in Columbus and each saying nope. I want to go in a brick and mortar to make sure of the right size and feel the tips. Each location could not help me of who I could go too.

Columbus has no sight center so I called Cleveland who does. They know of no location in Columbus to go too; so I will have to travel to Cleveland to get what I need.

Cleveland is two hours away.

Thank goodness I have someone that will take me. But for those people who don’t have a caregiver….how do you survive?

This is ridiculous!

I want to open a store for low vision/blindness. So we can shop for tools we need instead of everything online.

October is #BlindnessAwarenessMonth. Owen's cause of blindness is Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, which in the simplest terms is the underdevelopment of the optic nerves. A second condition that Owen has, which could have variety of symptoms (very wide ranged) is Septo Optic Dysplasia; a midline brain disorder, which in most instances includes the absence of one or more integral parts of the midline brain. Owen's brain is missing the septum pellucidum - a triangular section of "gray matter" that separates a portion of the left and right lateral ventricles of the brain. Owen's experienced minimal setbacks as a result of this, however we're not in the clear. Hormone imbalances, behavioral issues, and seizures are possible.
