One of the most significant gifts my maker gave me was the gift of being compassionate. I believe we all deserve compassion. I want the people I love and people on the street to know they can count on me to love them when they are down. No matter what. If all just give a cup full of compassion, we could give someone hope in themselves again.

I have lost my love for myself for about three months, and honestly, I don't want to think that way about myself anymore. I need to see the good in me that everyone else sees. With Black Panther premiering this week I’m anticipating more Black Films releasing that showcase Blackness in different narratives not just the played out slave film , thug movie or gospel. “Brown Girls Begins” resonates with me because often when we think of Black Culture we think of the south but lets go a little more southeast and discover the Black Caribbean narrative.
