✨if your ocs had to choose between saving their love interest or saving the world, which one would they choose? (this is such a common question on people's oc blogs but the answer always interests me)

omg I had so much fun answering this question, I've never though about this until now so thank you!!! 💜

saves their love interest

Innes Talovaire (A Mage Reborn) • the interesting thing about her choice is that it would be different pre-resurrection than post-resurrection so this answer is mostly post-resurrection. there is no official LI for her atm but no matter who she romances the answer would still be the same. the world has done nothing but bring her pain, and after the way their treated her she feels as if she owes nothing to them so she would not feel guilty at all about for sacrificing the world. *pre-resurrection she would have saved the world, unless Eli was alive in that case she would have saved him*

Maeve Peg'asi (Andromeda 6) • it comes as no surprise to me that she would save Damon but it was surprising that she would feel a bit of guilt about it. the world has not done anything to her, it mostly just came from her family, so she would feel bad to bring this to them, especially to the crew. she wouldn't exactly regret her choice but it would take a while for her to stop thinking about it.

Brynn Delvaux (When the Night Comes) • she would definitely struggle with this one. her reflexes would have made her save the world since she is a hunter and that is what they are taught to do but in the end she would save Alkar because her love for him is stronger than her sense for duty. she would mourn the lives lost, of course, but she would not feel guilty or regret her choice.

Kira Seong (Perfumare) and Jennifer Jones (Sentinel) • their reasoning would be the same: Reed and Shaw are all they have. they wouldn't even hesitate. Jennifer, however, would feel guilty for not even thinking about it but not guilty enough to regret her choice.

Amaris Voight • it angers her. it angers her to be in this situation and it angers her to be this conflicted about it. she's a hero, she's done so much for the citizens and has given up so much for them but they love her since she is their savior... but what kind of savior is she when she's thinking of sacrificing them to save the villain that she loves? she would wait until the last moment possible to make her choice, if only to decrease the guilt. would she regret her choice? only time will tell.

Blaise Montague • he has waited for Eden for so long. has found her time and time again in every single one of her lives. he knows she will come back, she always does. but he will not risk it. he wouldn't even hesitate. would not need to be asked twice and he doesn't need to confirm his choice. he will save her, he will always save her.

Kai Morgenstern (Keeper of the Sun and Moon) • this one came as a surprise for me the more i thought about it because Kai doesn't really care about the world, especially NMC since they gave her no other choice but to stay while all she wanted to do was forget what had happened and go back to her old "boring human life" where all she had to worry about was passing her finals in college, not what kind of creature will try to kill her next. and she loves Leon, she really does, and she would do everything for him. but saving the world means saving her dad and her aunt, and Kai would never forgive herself if something were to happen to them because of her. she would be devastated when making the choice and would even apologize to Leon but she wouldn't change her mind. *however if the choices were to save the people she loves or save the world then she would not hesitate to save her loved ones*

Connie Navarro (Keeper of the Sun and Moon) • don't do this to her, she can't take it. she's a keeper so it is her duty to save the world but Altair is the love of her life and she can't do that to him. she would have to be consoled by Altair or her mom or literally anyone around her but she would eventually choose the world. she would be saying "im sorry", "forgive me" and "i love you" to him over and over again until it happened. this made me so sad but this would honestly change her. she would try to justify it, to say that it was one life vs millions but whether she's trying to convince herself or everyone else...

Aspen Peg'asi (Andromeda 6) • i was going to do Aspen until i realized her answer would be the same as Connie, just changing Altair to June. though she would take it the worst since June saved her and she couldn't do this for him.

Angelina Hawthorne • out of everyone here, she's the one most likely to actually regret her choice. she is a hero, she has protected her classmates countless of times and even fought a war for the freedom of people so between her and Brynn, Angelina is the one that actually goes with her reflexes and saves the world. that is her undoing in the end, not actually trying to fight it and make a different choice. the more people mention it, the more she breaks.

Dorian Sinclaire • he is a hero, the son of Zeus. he has been taught since a very young age to fight for the people, to give up everything for them. and he would. the only consolation he has is the fact that his partner would do the same. however, he will try to forget about it and would snap at everyone who mentions it. will take the "ignorance is a bliss" to a whole new level.

From my mb!mcs, Ellie is the one who doesn't let her Zero get in the way of what she wants to do. She is very vocal about everything, doesn't really give others a chance to read her mind since says everything she thinks. Does it backfire at times? Yes. Does she get embarrassed? Of course. However, none of that will stop her. She knows people will know what she's thinking no matter what but it will be on her terms. This is also the reason why she decided to become an MIV Trainee since she has always wanted to follow her family footsteps and she knows this is as close as she's going to get. Like I said before, she won't let her Zero get in the way of her following her dreams.

Out of my kotsam!mcs, Elias is the only Hunter while also being an Anderson. I liked the idea of having someone, a human most of all, being stuck in this new magical world and not being allowed to leave while also not knowing what to do since he doesn't have magical abilities??? And why would he try to become a magician just to not have people hate him?? He doesn't want to be there anyway so he won't conform to what they want. So here's this child who's full of resentment for NMC and supernaturals, who won't listen to him since he doesn't have magical abilities, and who decides to become a Hunter after almost being killed by one after he tried to prove the rest of the group that he knew what he was doing. Who then falls in love with a supernatural who hates Hunters since his family was killed by one but who makes Elias' life in NMC better. Who makes Elias slowly start to rethink his choices and start accepting supernaturals and the magical world little by little. It works for them since if Elias had not followed that chain of events into becoming a Hunter, he wouldn't have fallen for Kol as fast and as deep as he did. *this got so long im sorry*

My children, my babies. The song would be more accurate if you change the 18 to 13 since Julie has been in love with Cove since she was 13 years old. But if we are being more specific, she realized she was in love with him then, all through the teasing from Mom, Ma and Lizzy. However, she's always loved Cove. She used to have the biggest crush on him growing up but she was a child so she didn't understand the difference. She just knew that the way she cared about Cove was different than from the way she cared about the other friends she made in school. I don't usually like the childhood friends to lovers trope but this is one of the exceptions. The transition from friends to lovers was so natural for them, it felt right. I just love them so much

I left this for last because it is my saddest one. This song is both what I associate with Maxine and what I associated with Maxine & Nick. Maxine always struggled with her Zero. Personality wise, she is exactly like Hope. For the first part of the song, this sort of shows how Nick would try and help her whenever her thoughts would go to a dark place. It can also apply to Sally, honestly. Just someone trying to show Maxine that people do love and that she is enough and that she's not alone. The middle is how her thoughts are when she is in her dark place and how much it affects her. *if you do listen to it* The part from 4:30 to 5:10 is how I see Nick basically fighting against Maxines intrusive thoughts now that he's literally inside her head.
