[ I think this is one of my favourite expressions directed at Astarion. Knowing you can't undo the pain he's suffered, nor can you shield him from every difficult moment to come. Although you've resisted most urges to maim and torture innocents, you would willingly level entire cities to see him safe. ]

The idea of Savine (durge) presenting with more masculine energy and Astarion with feminine in the daylight hours, only to completely switch it up once night falls, makes me want to chew on my own arm.
