Blount Clam Shack and Market, Warren RI.
Whole Belly Clam Roll on a grilled bun with clam fritters and clam chowder.
Shrimp Wrap- fried shrimp with lettuce, fresh salsa, Kick ‘N’Bayou sauce & Cheddar cheese
Another Sunday, Another Clam Shack! ☀️
I love whole belly clams! Maybe it’s the New Englander in me (born and raised in MA) but they are better than clam strips! Don’t knock ‘em til you try ‘em 😉
I love @blountretail 😉 They have delicious, fresh seafood, amazing soups and fresh and frozen foods. It is my favorite Clam Shack on the East Bay 💕
@blountfoodtruck @blountfinefoods
The fried shrimp wrap was delicious. The fried shrimp was fried lightly and you could still taste the shrimp. The sauce was a nice kick too but it wasn’t too spicy, just a nice kick. The wrap was crispy and had a great crunch with the freshness of the salsa. I usually get the lobster roll here, but I really wanted those whole belly clams 🦞
The whole belly clam roll was delicious! Very nicely fried, it was light and you could still taste those clams. I added a little Tatar sauce to the roll and a little lemon for freshness. The clam fritters are delicious with chunks of clams in the fritter. And when you dunk the fritters in the clam chowder that clam taste really pops out!! I really enjoyed this roll and it was a perfect way to end a Summer Weekend ☀️
Based on presentation and taste of the @blountretail whole belly clam roll, fritters and chowder and shrimp wrap I would rate this Clam Shack a 10 out of 10.

07/05/22 - Newport, RI - THE CLIFF WALK - If you want to see old ocean front mansions from the 'Gilded Age', do the 3.5 mile Newport Cliff Walk: a National Recreation Trail in a National Historic District that provides public access to private oceanfront property as long as you stay on the trail. Even on a cloudy and dreary day like today, the rocky ocean shore scenery, wide variety of wild flowers and of course, the old mansions are still a sight to see. If we had to do it over again, I think a better way to see the old mansions would be from a boat where you would have much better sight lines over some of the high fences and hedges that obscured many of the mansions from public view. For some reason, the free trolley that was supposed to take us back to where we started, was full every time it passed us by so we got the added bonus of walking through more neighborhoods with big estates: just not on the water. Clearly, lots of old money here. Later, at the recommendation from Weatherman, a friend we met while hiking the Appalachian Trail who grew up in this area, we had a great seafood lunch at Blounts in nearby Warren and a Del's lemonade for dessert. We drew the line at coffee milk: way too much sugar. All in all, we had a great experience seeing Rhode Island. Here's to building more memories.

MOFU Shoppe Brings Friends Together in Raleigh with Asian Flavors
Post from Girl Eats World Leave a comment/read the entire post here
I’m still the new girl in town in the Research Triangle area. For my Texas readers, that’s the surrounding area around Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Durham. Since being a resident for little over a month now, I try to invite new potential friends to meals once or twice a week. One of these new friends told me about a quarterly seminar event with a group called Triangle Food Makers that she, unfortunately, couldn’t make. I thought what a great place to meet local foodies!
So I made the drive to Raleigh, and thoroughly enjoyed the seminar portion of the evening but for reasons unknown to me, I clammed up and felt very shy. I’m not a shy person! I listened to restauranteers discuss the evening’s topic of food failures and felt more admiration for anyone who takes on the risky adventure of opening restaurants. I left without attempting to mingle. Speaking of food failures, I drove back home to Chapel Hill feeling like a failure myself.
As I was kicking myself for doing a terrible job at meeting people, I get a message from someone who was at this event and saw my paltry Twitter notes. Danae had seen my Instagram since before the event and wanted to meet me! My evening wasn’t wasted after all! After meeting her for breakfast a few days later, I found out she does social media management for MOFU Shoppe, a restaurant I’ve already had on my long list to check out! When I told my mom about this story and my list, she sighed dreamily and said it was as if our paths were meant to cross.
Even if you’re not from of the Raleigh area, you might have heard of or seen Pho Nomenal Dumpling Truck if you watched Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race.” They won the sixth season and recently pursued even greater things by opening a brick and mortar in downtown Raleigh called MOFU Shoppe. Their new physical space, converted from an old car dealership, is so airy and beautiful.
Danae and I met here for our third friend date for happy hour and giggled over Asian inspired dishes. We had the seafood salad, that night’s special, which consisted of mussels and tuna poached in a flavorful garlic butter. The colors of this dish were a feast for the eyes!
In fact, everything we enjoyed was photogenic and delicious. We shared the pork and chives dumplings ($9), crispy pork belly rice bowl ($9), and the fish tacos (3 for $18).
All good! My favorite bite of these three were the fish tacos. Crispy generous portions of delicate flounder with a spicy cilantro cream sauce. My mouth is salivating as I type this.
And just when we both exclaimed how full and happy we were, Sophia, one of the owners, sent us over not one but two complimentary desserts! The gluten-free Coconut Honey Rice Pudding had a crispy brûlée top and a subtly sweet pudding.
And lastly, the Vietnamese Coffee Mousse sealed the deal. I’m not only returning soon to MOFU Shoppe to try more of their menu, but the Vietnamese Coffee Mousse became a must-order for my future visits.

Blount Market & Kitchen, Warren RI.
Warren RI is located on the peninsula called Pokanoket (Mount Hope Neck), which is next to the town of Bristol. Warren was the original home of Brown University, founded in 1764. The school registered its first students in 1765 and was the Baptist answer to Congregationalist Yale and Harvard, Presbyterian Princeton, and Episcopalian Penn and Columbia. Warren is a coastal town with many great restaurants and cute boutiques. In the summer Warren has summer concerts in their common where you can relax and listen to some great music. Touisset Marsh Wildlife Refuge and Burr's Hill Park are two great and beautiful locations to walk around and enjoy the nice coastal air. It is close to Bristol and Newport, so you can enjoy all the adventures those towns have to offer as well.
Blount Market and Kitchen has fresh seafood which arrives fresh daily, some from their own local lobster and scallop boats. Not only do they have a fresh seafood kitchen but you can also enjoy the market and get prepared dinners, grab a bag of chowder to heat at home or pick up a freshly made salad.
Blount Market and Kitchen offers a few different types of lobster rolls. The Giant Lobster Roll is a ½ pound of lobster chunks served on an extra-long roll. The Small Lobster Roll is a ¼ pound of lobster chunks served on a 6 inch roll. You can get your lobster roll served with their house made dill sauce or served with warm butter. I opted for the warm butter roll, which I loved. Next time I go back to Blount’s I will try the dill sauce (which I have never had before.)
The Blount Market and Kitchen lobster roll was delicious. Served the way I love my lobster rolls with the warm butter it has quickly become one of my favorite places to get lobster rolls and seafood. Everything is cooked fresh and the frozen raviolis and soup are delicious, I love to stop in for a few dinners for the week and heat them up at home. The lobster is the roll was fresh and melted in your mouth. The crunch of the roll was a delicious contrast to the lobster. The lobster was so fresh that I did not even need the butter to eat this roll. I did take a few bites with the butter and it was delicious, making the lobster a little warmer and sweeter. They also gave you a choice of a side, I picked the clam fritters (clam cakes for all you Rhode Islanders.) The fritters were delicious and didn’t have too much batter so you could really taste and see the clams.
Based on presentation and taste of the Blount Market and Kitchen lobster roll I would rate this roll a 9 out of 10.
