Stand Still Like a Hummingbird

Summary: Hermione learns of Draco’s indiscretions during their break.

Pairing: Draco X Hermione

A/N: Inspired by episode 5 of season 2 of Euphoria

‪“Open the fucking door Malfoy” ‬Hermione cried, banging on the panel again, hard. Behind her, Harry was silent, ready for the inevitable when Hermione accepted what Draco had done.

“What kind of fucking friend are you?” She cried, her voice wobbling, a mix of sorrow and anger. “This isn’t about Pansy. This is about you, and me and our friendship, if you can even call it that, and if you wanna throw it away than fine. I don’t wanna be fucking friends with you either.”

She rattled the knob again, hoping maybe this time it’ll unlock, that Draco will step out and tell her it was a lie. That he hadn’t been seeing Pansy behind her back. That even though they hadnt been together, they both agreed to honor their relationship while they took a step back.

“You’re a fucking coward and I would’ve never done this to you.” She sobbed, forehead leaving against the door. “Just tell me was she worth it? You owe me that.”

Eventually when he didn’t answer, Harry grabbed Hermione by the elbow, and she let herself be lead from the room, dropping their apartment key by the sink before they left.

As We Lay

Summary: Ruby can’t keep being an open invitation

Pairing: Ruby X Weiss

A/N: This was semi inspired by two things, one of my previous writings and this pin from Pinterest.

“I can’t stand this. I don’t want to do this anymore.”

Ruby expects her to be bewildered, to turn over, reach for her hand and demand an explanation. She expects an argument, and a bad one at that.

It is silent. And that’s almost worse than the expected fight.

Sitting up on her elbow, Ruby peers through the darkness, her eyes adjusting slowly. Next to her, Weiss is sound asleep, a silver chain with a snowflake pendant shining by the moonlight that streams in the window.

Ruby can't help the way her eyes water when she takes in Weiss’s sleeping form. The heiress had been through so much, had to deal with warring countries and demanding companies and share partners on the daily, so when she showed up at Ruby’s home at nearly one am, who was she to deny her?

Time and time again, Ruby let Weiss into her home, into her body, spreading her legs and opening her mouth whenever Weiss asked, but she knows she wants more, needs more.

She wants to give Weiss comfort, be her respite, but every morning when she awakens to an empty bed, she feels herself crack, little pieces being chipped away.

When they first started this…thing, Ruby hadn't even noticed. She didn't realize that yes, it did hurt when Weiss didn’t text her back. It did bother her that when occasionally, Weiss wouldn't quite smell like herself, and instead smelled of oaky embers. The pieces that Weiss took were so small, Ruby hadn’t realized, until a chunk in her chest was missing, and she was on the floor of her bathroom clutching at her sternum, wondering where it had gone.

She isn’t sure how much longer she can go on without shattering.

Moving slowly so as to not wake her, Ruby lays her head close to Weiss’s, carding her fingers lightly over her cheek, tracing her brow.

“I’m sorry Weiss,” Ruby whispers into the darkness. “But you are probably going to continue to break my heart. And I can’t let you.”

Summary: Natasha caught feelings, Bucky didn't

“Just go away, Buck.” Her voice is thick, watery, so unlike herself. She wonders when she became this person, when did she allow herself to be this open? This raw?

Beside her on the opposite end of the couch, the love of her life stares at the side of her face. She knows he wants to listen to her, wants to go; but the guilt keeps him stationary. He didn’t intend this, she knows that. But It happened all the same.

“Nat, i-“ he pauses, inhales. “I’m sorry. I wish it didn’t have to be like this.”

“It doesn’t,” she bit out, held her knees closer to her chest. “You don’t have to do anything but…you are.”

“I can’t just say no to a mission,” he scoffs, and Natasha begins to feel the oncomings on a headache. “that can’t happen.”

“Don’t bullshit me, thats not why you’re leaving.” She said, hating the way she sounds. “You’re leaving because I love you and you don’t feel the same, and you can’t handle the guilt.”

They’re both quiet, aside from sound of Nat picking at her cuticles. 

“Natasha…” he starts but she cuts him off.

“I didn’t mean to, you know.” She whispered, cocking her her to the side to look at him, and in his light defense he does look guilty, looks sorry. “I didn’t mean to love you.”

“But you did.” Bucky racks a hand down his face, pinches the bridge of his nose. “If I would’ve known the outcome I never would’ve come to your room that night. I never…I never meant to hurt you, Natasha.”

She hates herself for adoring the way he says her name. She nods slowly, bites the inside of her cheek. “But you did.”
