I actually find funny that Daemyra was expecting something like that with Daemon and Rhaenyra, but Ryan is giving the scene to Aegon and Helaena lmao i think Daemyras will be ready to jump on a cliff if all these leaks we're getting, is real 😂 However i see they're setting up God's eye battle! 👀

If that’s true they definitely will be upset and I have no idea why considering Weak Boy #2 wasn’t Daemon’s nor did he consider him his son(the line was Luke shall be avenged not our son).

Regardless of whether this leak is valid or not, I think they’ll definitely be hinting towards the final showdown between Daemon and Aemond at some point in this season.

Rhaenyra being forced at nineteen (when most noble born women are betrothed when they’re children and married sometimes before their sixteen to men twice their age) to marry (after being allowed to tour the seven kingdoms to find a husband of her choosing) isn’t sexist. Heirs both female and male have to have a heir to continue the line. Politically marrying Laenor Velaryon is a smart move but Rhaenyra was only forced to marry Laenor because of her inability to choose one on her tour and the fact that she was seen in wh*re house allegedly having sex with not only her Uncle but with Daemon. I understand Rhaenyra’s reasons for not wanting to marry (i.e her mother) but by wanting to eventually be Queen she has to bite the bullet and do it.

And as for her leaving Kings Landing I’m pretty 50/50. I understand why she left but leaving and not returning for six years was a big no no. This is more of a side note but her and Daemon ragging on the fact that Alicent changed the design of the Red Keep makes me angry. It’s been six years and Alicent is Queen Consort to a sick and dying King (a King who treats both herself and their children horribly) let her decorate how she wants to. And with all the sick sh*t the Targaryens do they need Jesus lol (another thing the way they made it seem as if Alicent is the only person wanting Aegon and Helaena to marry makes me mad. Book!wise Viserys and Viserys alone does that. By having Alicent arrange that the two be married makes her a very main cause of her children’s suffering).

As for Daemon himself he’s a sh*t father and a sh*t husband. He “tries” but he should try 100x harder. So why he thinks he should have an opinion on what goes on in a home he hasn’t laid his head down in for sixteen years is beyond my understanding lol.

Nettles and Daeron is not cut or being replaced with others. They're coming in S3 but they're making Nettles the only Dragonseed not chosen by Rhaenyra which make sense since she's supposed to hate her. I believe Daemon will bring her in the team and she won't trust her immediately.

Even Daeron might be there in s2. Ryan has confirmed he will be there(at some point), however, he won’t say anything on Nettles.

I agree that she’s not cut, but I’m livid that this show thinks it’s acceptable to literally include and highlight everyone except the most important dragonseed. I’m incensed that they don’t think she’s worthy of address.

I don’t care what they do at this point. I don’t like her being treated like a fucking afterthought.

And I’m truly sorry for cursing and I’m not trying to be a hater of other characters cause they have qualities that people like. I’m just mad at this dumbass show and these biased showrunners.

This show needs to give up the giving women a voice crap cause that’s a a God damned lie when you treat the most vulnerable woman during the Dance like trash. Don’t claim that you’re trying to champion diversity and then limit the only canonically Black character because she makes the racist you’re trying to prop up look bad(and yes I have to go there because that’s really what this is about)

You’re not for women if you cut out the most oppressed woman during the Dance and give her role to men and those who have privilege. You’re not telling women’s stories if you won’t show the range of womanhood.

Like this fandom is bad enough with their insistence that she can be replaced, that she doesn’t matter, and that her relationship with Daemon is creepy, or gross, or nonexistent…it’s exhausting. I just can’t get excited for a show that pulls this bullcrap.

She should be there this season, but she’s not. The blatant disregard is too much.

Show!Alicent and Show!Rhaenrya were never going to experience motherhood (or marriage for that matter) the same way, when you take into consideration that Alicent was forced to marry Viserys (Rhaneyra was technically forced to marry Laenor, but even then they had an arrangement and Rhaenyra still had power, whereas Alicent didn't have that power or that arrangment).

Alicent was forced to have her children (Rhaenyra willing had children with Harwin a man of her choosing and did not have to endure marital r@pe. Even though she and Laenor didn't want to have s!x they agreed they would until they had a child. Alicent on the otherhand is quite literally summoned by her husband for s!x. S!x that upon hearing she was being summoned for began crying and during said s!x mentally had to dissociate).

While of course people can still compare them it always annoys me when people specifically compare their relationships with their children because the context in how these children came to be is completely different (and the fact that this is only ever used to demean Alicent). Therefore how these mothers view their children is going to be completely different. This doesn’t mean that Alicent and Rhaenyra don’t love their respective children it just means that the dynamics they have with those children are going to be vastly different.

Not only that but the way Alicent and Rhaenyra themselves were raised and the relationships they have/had with their own mothers (and fathers) is also going to impact how they raise their children.

Nothing to add cause this is an excellent analysis. Wish more people would acknowledge their different positions(in life and situation) and keep that in mind when talking about their mothering, but this fandom is allergic to actual analysis🙃

showrunners clearly created such a blatant "worthy woman" and "unworthy man"(Daemon,Aegon , Criston) story,that you can see it from space.But "worthy woman" only applies when she's white or faired-skinned.

Unpopular Opinion: Every time a black female character (especially if this black female character is dark skinned) enters into a relationship with the popular fan-favorite white male character usually one of three things happen a. the black female character is now headcanoned as a lesbian (never bisexual or queer or anything that would leave the character with the possibility of still entering into a relationship with a man) b. white male character is now shipped with other popular fan-favorite white male character/other white female character (the popular fan-favorite white male character is usually headcanoned to be bisexual and when he is, shipped with a woman that woman is always white) or c. black female character (and sometimes their actresses) is now being talked about as if they are the devil himself.

Wanting characters to explore their sexuality is fine but I always find it odd how this always happens when one member of the relationship is a black/blackish woman. *forgot to mention the suddenly polyamorous relationship the three (black female, white male and white male/woman) characters are now without a doubt in*

I’m not team black or green, and I’m also only watching this show for nettles - but I have to say that the only racist comments I see are coming from team black. They are so racist it’s insane.

1. They treat the velaryons like Rhaenyra & her (white) son’s cheer squad . They can’t fathom the velaryons being their own people with their own thoughts and opinions.

2. Their treatment of vaemond. They justify his murder for daring to speak up against their fav. They gaslight anyone who supports vaemond’s right to be angry that his house is being stolen by a white kid and claim that Luke “legally” isn’t a bastard and that we are misogynistic.

3. Their treatment of laena - they either claim that she was Rhaenyra’s lesbian (?) lover or that daemon never cared about her - they refuse to acknowledge that daemon was happily in love with her.

4. Their treatment of nettles.

I’m so done. I’ve just had a conversation with one of those insane stans, and they said that I’m “playing the victim” for pointing out their racism. I’m so sick and tired of hearing that I’m “playing the victim” or that I’m being “over dramatic” for wanting actual black representation and calling out performative activism.

Team Green has its moments(I don’t love how some of them treat Nettles), but Team Black is indeed objectively worse.

I have yet to see any other sub-fanbase go on rants about how there are too many Black people on the show so it’s fine to cut the only in-canon Black character(Nettles), that they are glad the n-word died(Laena), claim that a Black woman’s Afro-hair is dirty(the leaked photo on the beach), calling people monkeys(again Laena), comparing characters to animals(Laena and Nettles), the legally biracial fiasco, denying that there is racism in the books and that their fave is one of the perpetrators, saying that Daemon sleeping with Black women is a detrimental character trait…It’s a mess.

Honestly, most of the viscerally racist stuff that has been said had been geared toward Nettles or Laena(Vaemond’s a close third) because they are perceived as a threat.

Which shows you how f*cked up these people are. They are legitimately willing to resort to racism to attack fictional characters over a fictional ship.

And the kicker is, they don’t see anything wrong with their behavior because: I’m not racist. I have no problem with good Black people(aka the ones who kiss up to my fave), ignore me saying how a white woman (who I hate cause she's a Green 🥦, but she's still white) with less plot development is somehow more relevant than the girl who shows that you are more than the blood in your veins. Let's not get into the fact that they only like Baela, Rhaena, Corlys, and Alyn because they haven't/don't do anything. The moment we see them have a personality and it’s not solely about worshipping Missy Anne they'll turn on them.

If the show ends Rhaena’s arc marrying a Hightower they'll call her a whore and a traitor. If Baela calls out Missy Anne for not being motherly towards her and her sister they'll call her ungrateful. When Corlys puts his blood first he’ll be treated just like Ser Vaemond. Alyn will be hated not for saving the psychotic white woman(who arrested his father and tried to arrest his brother) in her hour of need.

If what they said about Rhaena taking Nettles’ place actually happened, do you know how upset they'd actually be with Daemon even putting his actual child first before Miss Maegor? She'd become enemy #1. He is not allowed to love anyone more than her.

They also love to defend their deplorable behavior by saying the characters they are attacking are fictional so it doesn’t matter.

It’s not a crackship to me, I genuinely believe that Aemond x Rhaena could’ve worked out in canon. They’re only two years apart. He’s a second son she’s a second daughter. He’s ignored by his father in favor of his older sister and she’s ignored by her father in favor of her older sister. They both had/have close relationships with their mothers. They both love and are loyal to their families. For the longest time Aemond was the only one in his family without a dragon, Rhaena is still the only person in her family without a dragon. *plus my delusional self really thinks they were checking each other out at the dinner scene*

It's always interesting how as soon as black women become a love interest in a straight ship 1 of 2 things will happen.

1. They will try to make the male gay or bisexual to devalue the ship or even if he is canonically bisexual his relationships with men will be more valued, ex; how every one was hyped when Daemon was allegedly flirting with the male servant in Pentos.

2. They will claim that the ship has an abusive dynamic.

And this isn't just House of the Dragon this can be seen in almost ALL fandoms.

Honestly liking the Targaryens isn’t the problem(and at this point, I'm pretty sure we all like a Targaryen or two).

Yeah, they undoubtedly have some bad views as a whole, but as long as you acknowledge that their views are an allegory for real issues that’s fine.

We aren’t necessarily defined by the fiction we consume.

However, these fans outright taking on white supremacist talking points about blood supremacy and blood purity with 100% sincerity and then being confused as to why people are calling them racist is a mind trip.

If all you are getting from the books is how special and magical the Targaryen’s are and how they must keep the bloodline pure, how outsiders dirty the blood, and then use that to degrade and mock characters(and harass their fans) who aren’t silver-haired with purple eyes then yeah, you’re a fucking racist.

GRRM is admittedly not the best at handling race(or even certain female characters). He’s an old white man and it shows, but even he didn’t create this universe for you guys to spout out this crap. You are supposed to question things like feudalism and Targaryen exceptionalism not uphold it.

Nettles is a prime example of this, but they want to say she’s Daemon’s kid, or unquestionably Valyrian, and how she’s irrelevant since she’s Black(not to mention deny the racism she faces in the text as well as outside of it) rather than admit that maybe your blood, your gender(she’s a woman too but they always seem to forget that), your social economic status, your race does not define you. You and your actions do.

That all being said, I do think the Targaryen ideology is what attracts people to the house in the first place, but they won’t admit this because that means they have to confront their own biases.

If Targaryen ideology is harmful and you agree with it wholeheartedly what does that make you? How do you view people who are different than you? Who do you view as beneath you? How do you treat people who you view as lesser than you?

Yes this is all fictional, but the language being used is very much based on how they feel about certain groups in real life.

Look I’ve seen people straight up say things like there are too many Black people on HOTD and that the only in-canon Black character should be cut because they’ve met their quota and then cry that they are being (rightfully) called racists.

I’ve seen people say that since Daemon rejected a white woman(Alys) who they view as better than her(Nettles) he would for sure never touch Nettles’ with a ten-foot pole much less love her in a romantic capacity and then cry that they are now being called a racist.

I’ve seen people purposely reduce characters solely down to their race and then cry that they are now being called a racist.

I’ve seen people harass and stalk actual Black fans and then cry and say that they are being bullied when we call them out for it.

I’ve seen people outright use racial slurs then the fanbase brushes that aside to say that the racism is limited to just a few individuals when many of these same people are using the previous arguments and treat real-life fans like crap.

Racism isn't limited to saying I hate n-words and wanting to commit acts of violence upon us.

It’s easier to say you aren’t a racist than to deal with the very real possibility that you are a part of the problem. That you treat people(including fictional characters) who don’t look like you like absolute shit because of something as stupid as the color of their skin. That you view them as so beneath you that we don’t deserve basic respect.

Daemon and Mysaria meeting won't be a visit of courtesy, but it's hot vibes if you ask me. Apparently Daemon hides and breaks in Mysaria's chamber while she's getting ready to go bed. Daemon appears behind her and attacks her pushing her against the wall accusing her she betrayed him since he knows it's been Mysaria on telling Otto where to find Aegon to put him on the throne. Mysaria strikes back saying he's the first who betrayed her by abandoning her to get married, he smirks at her and tell her he came to her to ask help. Apparently Daemon says the quote of the book yes, but not to Rhaenyra but to Mysaria and they plot Blood and Cheese. Mysaria is accepting to help Daemon cause tell him she has personal issues with Aegon cause he raped a lot of her girls and she wants him to pay for it. She also tell him about Aegon's bastards forced to fight like beasts and confess Daemon she helped Otto in exchange to stop that. Daemon carress her hand. The script literally says “Daemon and Mysaria reconciling with a kiss” end of the scene. So, their affair begins again, i guess

A low born orphan at just the age of 17 was capable of doing what dozens of well trained knights failed to do. She survived one of the biggest civil wars in Westeros history, she had one of the last surviving dragons of the dance (who cares who's the biggest, oldest, most shiny etc etc it was Nettles and her dragon that outlived them all in the end) AND she was capable if creating an entire culture around herself (the tribes could've easily over powdered her but instead chose to worship and respect her) mind you all she had was a dragon, she had no titles just her name. Also, she's a few of the very few characters in the books that show care and remorse, she mourned Jace someone she barely knew and cried for Driftmark despite having lived a life previously where she was mistreated and starving on the streets. I swear these Dumbnyra stans deserve their names (Dumbnyra), and just because some of us are pro-Nettles, it doesn't automatically make use of team Green, Team Green can kick rocks as well because they are such hypocrites, whining and complaining about how their fav characters were stripped of importance and reduced to a singular thing yet they turn around and strip Nettles's character as a gotcha moment towards to Dumbnyra stans, as if her relationship with Daemon is the only thing important to her character. These stans also need to realize the Nettles is one of George's favorite characters whose stories he'd like to continue.

I go in on Dumbnyra stans a lot(and that person shows exactly why), but you are right that all sides of this fandom treat Nettles like she’s trash. If it’s not saying she’s a plot device sent to ruin Dumbnyra from Team Black and that anyone Black can replace her it’s how Team Green is so worried about her being abused and how maybe it’s for the best she gets cut.

Their behavior is utterly disgusting. It's anti-Black, but no one takes anti-Blackness and especially not misogynoir seriously.

Nettles may be a secondary character, but she’s the most important secondary character during the Dance. She starts out literally homeless. She claims Sheepstealer by determination, not by blood. She’s the only one to claim a wild dragon. The only non-Valyrian dragonrider that we know of.

She gets the Rogue Prince to fall in love with her to the point where he’s willing to die for her and disobeys his wife’s orders to save her. She survives the Dance with a dragon intake. Becomes a fire witch and is worshipped by a mountain clan in the Mountains of the Moon(she’s still worshipped by them during the main series). Her legacy is cemented.

I love her relationship with Daemon, but she’s so much more than just Daemon’s love. She’s a survivor. She’s the final girl. She would be seen as special as she is if she was white.

A character like her will never not be needed especially in a world where the representation of Black women in media, particularly fantasy stories, is still pretty bleak.
