Jerrod is on everyone's mind today after his electrifying hosting gig, which has received mixed reviews. Clearly many people don't like comics speaking truth to power, but I thought he did a fantastic job with an almost-impossible task.

Here is the opening monologue in which Jerrod gets REALLY honest about why he as a gay Black man was chosen to host the Golden Globes.

Anyway, I am hoping we get a LOT more of Jerrod tearing down stuffy award shows. It was delightful, and I'm certain Bo was very proud of his best friend! ✌🏼

Being keepers of time themselves, it was up to Liu Kang & Kitana to craft a new era. They gave it peace and prosperity, they made its denizens to choose their own fates. They weren't alone as they were aided by a redeemed Geras, using his knowledge from observing Kronika using the hourglass. After some careful and meticulous consideration, everything for the new era was set. Such grand and divine duty of theirs was pushed upon them under necesscary circumstance, so the couple decided to give up their roles to be protectors of their respective realms; Liu Kang for Earthrealm & Kitana for Edenia respectively.

Over the years they wished to live a simple life, family and all but the duties of protecting their realms were in their way, yet they cannot abandon such duty or else the realms will fall into disarray. There were many adjustments to ensure their future children would be growing up to at least a well-adjusted and healthy adult. Then, after hundreds of years had passed during this rather long adjustment period, Kitana had birthed a beautiful and healthy baby girl. The girl's name? His father had named her Meiying.

She was raised in Earthrealm for the majority of her life. Among the fields and its farmers in Fengjian, as a way to learn humility and respect, showing to even those who are considered lowly such as farmers. Growing up she had known both of her parents were working as traveling merchants, but they managed to make sure they spent time with her. Little did she know the truth as her parents wanted to live a normal childhood without heavy expectations put on her from such a young age.

By the time she was 10, it was time she knew that truth and that was her demi-god heritage. Her parents weren't out there selling goods, in reality, they were out there protecting the realms to ensure tranquility and peace. It was a lot for little meimei but they helped her and gave her time to get used to this knowledge. Kitana began to teach her about her Edenian side whenever she took a visit to that realm.

Thus this led to knowing personally about Empress Sindel & Emperor Jerrod, along with Mileena; who's now in Kitana's place as next-in-line to the throne and no longer a half-Tarkatan but purely Edenian. The royal family treated her like she was a part of it and in return she sees them as her secondary family, the emperor and empress as another set of grandparents and the princess as her aunt. Now, she thought of a choice to find a path, whether to stay in Earthrealm or to be with the royal family as their ambassador for Earthrealm and advisor for the future empress. It was tough and conflicting for her, maybe it would change somehow once she goes to the Wu Shi Academy to be trained as one of the next generation of Earthrealm's defenders...

She's a timid and polite yet cautiously optimistic hard-working girl that tends to be stubborn sometimes. Very calculative but to the point of overthinking and indecisiveness, though in moments where she's put under the pressure she is a quick thinker and concisely thinks of effective strategies. She cannot live without a schedule and strictly follows it, when things don't go according to plan, she tends to get overwhelmed and freaks out like it's the end of the world.

Acts of service is her ultimate love language, she's willing to be the first to step in when someone is in need of help, Thus making her very much the 'always prepared for literally everything' friend. Though this leads to not taking care of herself and always putting the others first. While she can handle being around people, she prefers doing things alone but would be open to let others help just as long they actually contribute something

╰► ✎ ̼ 「 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 & 𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 」

She was given the ability to control gravity as some sort of 'christening' by the elder gods in the time of her birth. Though it didn't fully develop itself until she was well around 8 where she assumed it was telekinesis, moving things around slightly. Since she's still learning, there are moments where she's not controlling her powers, such as being stuck in place and being in a state of being paralysed by her powers or things suddenly floating around when she's too focused. Either way, she managed to incorporate it into her kombat and has gotten inspiration from the way Kenshi fought when she was visiting the Shirai Ryu islands along with the likes of Kidd Thunder's father; Fujin, and his use of his wind powers.

Speaking of kombat, her fighting style is a mix between two kung fu styles: eagle claw & praying mantis, this is because her weapon of choice is similar to a stiletto that's in the form of a zanzi hairpin. It was given by Madame Bo on her 7th birthday, she started with wooden, dull zanzi hairpins since she wasn't old enough to handle sharp objects according to her. Not to mention she was taught how to cook a few basic meals and skills such as sewing from her while she was under her mentorship.

Fengjian is well-known for an abundant population of farmers, when Meiying wants to work but it's a day off, she tends to help out, gaining some knowledge about the basics of farmers. She's also an expert being in disguises to the point of being scarily convincing. She also learned a lot of impressive party tricks whenever she's at events held by the royal family, so she has something to do and entertain the guests where there's a lack of it.

An absolute fashionista, her preferred style is vintage chinese fashion (especially from the 70s-50s) and cottagecore

Big BIG girl's girl energy, nuff said.

She's a theater kid growing up and still is now, her early introduction to theater was when she got to watch a chinese opera performance in Madam Bo's teahouse

Knows morse code and taught her besties so they can send secret messages throughout class

Is in various wlw chat servers/groupchats long before her queer awakening

Talks to herself at a fast pace when stressed and sometimes rearranging things to keep herself distracted.

Often referred to as 'mimi' by her friends and family

Doesn't like doing card games due it's association with gambling

Listens to a lot of calm asmr videos before going to sleep (her favorite is Moonlight Cottage ASMR)

The thought of living for a long time as a half-edenian haunts her every day and night, how even small moments would become memories once her friends have passed. She finds comfort in Zhenbing, knowing he's in the same situation but worse. That doesn't help with her knowing he would be the last one standing.

I just read that Jerrod Carmichael has been trending, so here's the info on why and what his connection is to Taylor Swift! 👀

First, Jerrod and Taylor were photographed at Lena Dunham's wedding together.

Jerrod actually said this was the photo he used on Grindr! lol

Next, we know that Jerrod's best friend Bo Burnham is currently dating Phoebe Bridgers.

And Phoebe, obviously, has a great relationship with Taylor, even opening for her during the Eras Tour!

So, it makes sense that Jerrod is still in touch with Taylor. He even had a gorgeous photo taken with Phoebe while he was still in his wearing-fur-coats phase!

Bi-Han is a mama's boy and everything he does is in hopes of honoring her memory. Since Tomas came into their lives, he began competing for her attention and seeking her approval for everything.

Bi-Han has daddy issues. As the Grandmaster's first son, he grew up constantly watched and pushed to the limits to one day be worthy of inheriting his father's position.

Like all Lin Kuei, Bi-Han trained to be a deadly and stealthy warrior since childhood.

Bi-Han's best friends are Cyrax and Sektor, but as heir to the clan's highest position he rarely had time to play like a normal child and often avoided venting to either of them so as not to show weakness.

Kuai Liang knows all of Bi-Han's weaknesses and frustrations. Bi-Han only knows all of Kuai Liang's weaknesses.

Bi-Han values strength and power above all else.

Bi-Han admires Rain's powers and would like to have him as an ally.

Bi-Han can't stand strangers touching him.

Bi-Han secretly respects Raiden and Kung Lao because they were apprentices of Madam Bo, a retired Lin Kuei.

Bi-Han loves to be praised and respected.

Bi-Han secretly respects Kenshi because his ancestors were fierce opponents of his Lin Kuei ancestors.

Bi-Han secretly respects and cares for Tomas, but he refuses to admit it and treats him harshly because otherwise it would make his father happy.

Bi-Han once looked up to his father (when he was just a boy).

Bi-Han was surprised to hear from Tomas that he once idolized him, largely because he always made sure of distancing himself from him, reminding him that they are not equal, etc.

Bi-Han believes that his father's attachment to tradition and blind loyalty to Liu Kang condemned the Lin Kuei to mediocrity.

When his mother died, Bi-Han was bereft and grew frustrated with his father's decisions. And as his father aged and refused to retire, whispers that Bi-Han should take leadership began to spread and when the Grandmaster was seriously injured in an accident, Bi-Han was advised to let nature take its course.

Bi-Han misses his mother and mourns her death to this day.

Bi-Han once saw Liu Kang as an uncle.

Bi-Han misses Kuai Liang's company.

Bi-Han is vain, but supporting Shao in battles in Outworld left him with no time even for basic care some days, like brushing his teeth.

Bi-Han regrets hurting Kuai Liang, but his pride prevents him from apologizing.

Bi-Han has had anger issues since he was a boy and often loses control when under stressful situations. This trait was the main reason why his father refused to retire and considered him unworthy of holding his position. Bi-Han suspects to this day that his father would have preferred Kuai Liang to have been born first.

Bi-Han is proud of his appearance because he takes after his mother. And he is even more proud of having inherited her combat skills.

Both of Bi-Han's parents were excellent fighters.

Bi-Han's father was a close friend of Jerrod.

Bi-Han once admired Sindel a lot. And the news of her death was devastating for him. He regrets having been busy freeing Shao from prison in Outworld, rather than protecting his brothers, Sindel and her daughters in battle against Shang Tsung's Titan counterpart.

Ermac's new intro lines give us so many lore extensions. Here's the summary i did:

Other souls have taken control of Ermac while Sindel and Jerrod are actively fighting for it again. They no longer serve any master, cutting themselves from Quan Chi and the royal family

Quan Chi's magic has tainted Ermac in a way they describe it as Shadows within them. They are trying to abolish it

The Living Forest remains in ruins since the souls in Ermac do not want to return

Ermac's powers come from the souls that once possessed those powers.

Some forebears of Kuai Liang reside inside Ermac, suggesting Lin Kuei had Outworlders in their bloodline

Absorbing some souls from Ermac has unlocked Sento's power, which implies Sento's power is of its own, instead of siphoning the power from Ermac as Kenshi claimed in the story mode. "It siphoned its souls. It now has its powers."

Sento has some souls of Outworld along with Taira clan ancestors

Vaeternians now have found a way to feed on souls

Shao and Reiko are trying to recruit Ermac for the rebellion against Mileena's reign, but Ermac acutely opposes for the fact that they are loyal to Outworld

Although they do not seek violence, Ermac is still ready to throw hands if Quan Chi comes around

Ermac seeks shelter in Tarkatan colony as they're going through some existential crisis, but Baraka refuses them bc of their old beef

Now Ermac is roaming Earthrealm for some reason that's not malicious

Quan Chi's magic that's binding souls in Ermac is failing

Ashrah and Syzoth are actively trying to find Quan Chi

Johhny got a movie idea about Ermac, tittled "Army of Souls"

Madam Bo's lore extends that she's a heartbreaker on top of being the baddest bitch of Earthrealm

In short, Ermac is just trynna find purpose in life while everyone else won't leave them fuck alone.
