Album Number Four Hundred Fifty Two. “Fleetwood Mac” is the tenth studio album by #fleetwoodmac , released on 11 July 1975 by #repriserecords . It was the band's second eponymous album, the first being their 1968 debut album; it is sometimes referred to among fans as the White Album. This was the first Fleetwood Mac album with #lindseybuckingham as guitarist and #stevienicks as vocalist, after #bobwelch departed the band in late 1974. It was also the band's last album to be released on the Reprise label until 1997's The Dance (the band's subsequent albums until then were released through #warnerbrosrecords , Reprise's parent company). My copy is the 1977 reissue on Reprise Records - MSK 2281. Influential albums in my life #18. I feel like a lot of Fleetwood Mac fans have only really heard their output post 1977 after Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined. They originated in the late 60s fronted by guitarist Peter Green. After he left the main vocal duties were shared by the both outstanding Christine McVie (Christine Perfect) and Bob Welch who sang two of my favorite Mac songs: Hypnotized and Sentimental Lady. Welch later went on to front the art band Paris before going solo in the late 70s. There’s a ton of great Fleetwood Mac material before their mega hit days. Without a successful single to support the album, it still managed to peak at No. 34 on the Billboard 200 chart, which at the time was the highest Billboard placing for any Fleetwood Mac album.
