Why is it that famous Japanese fantasy novels don’t get official translations and somehow Are You Okay With A Slightly Older Girlfriend gets an e-release. Please if someone released Teito Monogatari in English every serious anime fan would order it in a minute same with a complete Boogiepop translation. If Americans will read old Italian classics they’ll read Japanese fantasy.

Just like the ice cream the Peppermint Wizard makes, this story is bittersweet, but Tosuke is one of my favorite characters in the series now. i know 2019 was packed with so many good anime but it’s always puzzled me that boogiepop and others didn’t make much of an impact on tumblr. the mystery, the suspense, the (body) horror, the tragedies, the nonlinear storytelling, the gorgeous animation, nagi kirima, BOOGIEPOP!!!!!,

When I saw Tails and the stadium manager show their Chaos Emeralds, a ray of light emerged from them. This reminds me of the time when Boogiepop entered the world and caused a chain of paranormal activities connected to her. Such a coincidence...

While I’m on the topic I feel like fact that Monogatari is super well known in the west while Boogiepop is out of print comes down to the fact that Monogatari has several terrific anime adaptations that leave out a lot of it’s problem content while both Boogiepop anime while great because they’re Boogiepop are not nearly as watchable as Bakemonogatari even dubbed. It’s kinda sad but I think a fair assessment of American anime fans even ones like me who buy the translated light novels

I think the german dub of Boogiepop and others is decent, maybe even good, but it does not do the whole gender thing justice.
