A moving, heart wrenching and thought-provoking story. The main premise of the story is a young woman's decision to undergo an abortion after accidentally ending up pregnant. Being a naive young girl who is on the road to being a successful actor, she is scared of being judged harshly by society, her friends and most of all her family. It is indeed very sad that a woman bears the brunt of isolation and harsh criticism if she decides to end her pregnancy. The man, however, ends up unscathed without a sense of responsibility. Religious barriers and fear invoked by those who oppose abortion often harrass women and add to the trauma women endure. This book has the ability to make readers realize how emotionally shattering and difficult it is to be a woman who is pregnant and alone, with no support from closed friends. This is a must read for teenagers, women and men as well. This should be compulsory reading for students, teachers and parents. #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookaddiction #booklove #booklover #bookworm #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #bookenchantress #bookenthusiast #bookbabe #bookdiva #booklady #bookboss #bookmama #bookwoman #bestreads2019 #girlsontheverge #sharonbiggswaller #youngadultbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw14HADn32b/?igshid=umn9rdpewhvh

An intriguing story set in a small town where 5 years ago, a young girl called Andie went missing and has not been found to date. Her ex-boyfriend (Sal) is found dead just a few days later leaving behind solid proof that he murdered Andie. Sal commits suicide as a way of redemption and escaping from the police. The police close the case declaring Sal as the murderer. Pip, a brilliant student chooses the case as part of her project for school. She never believed Sal was guilty and tries to bring what happened five years ago to light by interviewing Andie's family and friends, police officers and journalists as well as Sal's family. The mystery unfolds gradually as Pip uncovers previously unexplored angles and factors that everyone ignored. Ravi, Sal's brother and Pip are wonderful characters who brought the story to life. I loved this story immensely. #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookaddiction #booklove #booklover #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #bookworm #booklady #bookboss #bookmama #bookwoman #bookbabe #bookdiva #bookenchantress #bookenthusiast #bestreads2019 #agoodgirlsguidetomurder #mystery (at Upanga, Dar es Salaam) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Th-7egvwX/?igshid=dkqkrxxy6ic2

Delightful, amusing, & captivating!!!! THE BOOKISH LIFE OF NINA HILL by ABBI WAXMAN is an engaging, exciting, and cheerful story that perfectly portrays the life a bookworm and booklover. I could relate to Nina throughout the story. Nina Hill is an only child raised mostly by her nanny. Her mother was a single parent and hardly around as she was a famous photographer. She did not completely abandon Nina and loved her in her own unique way. Nina works in a bookstore and is a master in trivia. She and her friends have been quiz champions becuase of their unique abilities in understanding and being masters in particular subjects such as Geography, books and literature and general knowledge. Nina loves planning every aspect of her life. She has a plan for what she wants to do during the day, what she is going to an eat, buy or what she wants to in life. She feels anxious when things do not go according to her plan. When she receives news that the father she never knew has died and has quite a few siblings, nephews, nieces, and other relatives, her life takes a complete u-turn. She is eager to know her family but worried about stumbling onto all these different personalities. Her romantic life gets interesting when she meets Tom, who adores and loves her. Books and reading were definitely a great part of this story which I loved and could relate to. The best book I read this week. #bookstagram #bookaddictions #bookaddict #booklove #booklover #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #booklover #bookboss #bookmama #bookwoman #bookbabe #bookdiva #bookenchantress #bookenthusiast #thebookishlifeofninahill #abbiwaxman #bestreads2019 (at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Bmde1gW1F/?igshid=1w1xfjj3work

I really enjoyed this book. Isha Sesay tells us the story of the 200 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014 in powerful detail and provides us with the appropriate context to understand how Boko Haram rose to power in Northeast Nigeria. The major premise of the book focuses on why anyone including the Nigerian government, international organizations, and stakeholders with influence failed to do anything in rescuing these young innocent girls. Sesay also challenges us with thought-provoking information on the failure of the world to stand up together for these girls who were simply gaining an education which is basically their right. I was stunned by how these girls were not regarded as a priority. I knew about the kidnapping but the real story of these girls, the challenges they faced in obtaining an education, the trauma and torture they underwent at the hands of horrendous criminals who use religion as a justification for their crimes, was beyond my knowledge. I was enraged throughout the story at how the world could have done something but it all took a backstage because we gave priority to the elections going on the USA at the time. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Knowledge is power and together we can unite to bring these girls back and to help them in any way we can. #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookaddiction #booklove #booklover #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #bookworm #booklady #bookboss #bookbabe #bookwoman #bookbabe #bookboss #bookdiva #bestreads2019 #ishasasey #beneaththetamarindtree (at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0Bl7-Ig2nP/?igshid=nlao6z8d2682

This was my first Kimberly Belle book and I could not put the book down. I was engrossed into the story and the story is still reeling on my mind. I am having a serious book hangover this one!!!!! Beth Murphy is on the run from her abusive husband. She knows he is coming after her. It is only a matter of time before he finds her. Sabine Hardison is also missing. Her life is far from perfect. She has a successful job as a Real Estate professional. She has just moved into an expensive house and is happily married. Well, is she? Everyone else would say she is but her husband is a controlling maniac who is violent and envious of her success. He has an inferiority complex over Sabine often hurting her to prove his manhood. Marcus, the investigating Detective will stop at nothing track Sabine and close this matter once and for all. The story is narrated in three different perspectives. Dear Wife is full of secrets, lies, suspense and a whole lot of tension that kept me turning the pages. I would never have been able to sleep until I has turned the last page in the book. A perfect thriller. #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookaddiction #booklovers #booklove #booklover #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #bookworm #bookenchantress #bookenthusiast #bookmama #bookboss #bookwoman #bookbabe #bookdiva #bestreads2019 #dearwife #kimberleylee (at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0BlGbOgalg/?igshid=5vfz5g2nhcvf

Claire Lombardo's debut novel is a poignant story following the Sorenson family, consisting of Marilyn and David (the parents), and their four daughters, Wendy, Violet, Liza, and Grace. Each character has a unique personality, distinct and connected, and their actions collectively impact the family over the years. Marilyn and David are bound together by unparalleled love for each other. Marilyn sacrifices her career, leaving her studies midway, in order to care for her growing family. The story is narrated from two alternate timelines. The first is of the past where we follow Marilyn as a newly wedded wife and a new mother. The second is of the present time where we are introduced to the lives of Wendy, Violet, Liza, and Grace. Despite the privileges such as wealth and status that these characters are blessed with, they have their own struggles. Wendy is trying to get over the death of her husband, Miles often through unfulfilling relationships with men and alcohol to numb the pain she feels. Violet is trying to deal with her husband and two young children while a past secret threatens to tear her family apart. Liza is a professor with a fulfilling career but her love life is a mess. Her partner is suffering from depression forcing her to play the role of a caregiver to her partner as well as her unborn child. Grace, the baby of the family, is drained from the expectations that her family. A recent graduate who fails to get accepted at any university, she lies to her parents about commencing law school leading her to narrate a few more lies until it threatens to drive her insane with hatred for herself. Despite all these challenges, the family pulls through each struggle stronger because of the love and care they have for each other. There are family clashes due to the generation gap but beneath it all there is the hope that no matter what happens they will overcome it all. A wonderful story. #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookaddiction #booklove #booklover #booknerd #bookninja #bookdragon #booklioness #booklady #bookboss #bookmama #bookwoman #bookenchantress #bookenthusiast #bookbabe #bookdiva #bestreads2019 #clairelombardo #themostfunweeverhad #fiction (at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzuR3LCAeT0/?igshid=13mjas3u8s5f4
