A moving, heart wrenching and thought-provoking story. The main premise of the story is a young woman's decision to undergo an abortion after accidentally ending up pregnant. Being a naive young girl who is on the road to being a successful actor, she is scared of being judged harshly by society, her friends and most of all her family. It is indeed very sad that a woman bears the brunt of isolation and harsh criticism if she decides to end her pregnancy. The man, however, ends up unscathed without a sense of responsibility. Religious barriers and fear invoked by those who oppose abortion often harrass women and add to the trauma women endure. This book has the ability to make readers realize how emotionally shattering and difficult it is to be a woman who is pregnant and alone, with no support from closed friends. This is a must read for teenagers, women and men as well. This is a perfect read portraying a story with the right amount of mystery, romance and intrigue!!!! Drue Campbell is having a hard time. She has lost her job as a waitress and nothing sunny is on the horizon for her. Her mother who was her only companion has passed away after a long battle with illness. Her father, Brice Campbell, whom she hasn’t seen in over twenty years, shows up to the funeral trying to make amends with his only daughter. Brice has a prospering law practice and offers Drue a job at his firm so she can start over a new life. The only problem here is that Brice is married to Wendy, a frenemy of Drue from middle school. The job does not appeal to Drue, but she inherits a bungalow in Sunset Beach which was once owned by her beloved grandparents. A mysterious death occurs, which could be tied to corruption at Brice’s firm. Drue dons her detective hat and starts her own investigation wanting justice for the deceased's daughter. Her quest for justice leads her on a roller coaster ride in order to uncover the whole truth.
