like it will NEVER EVER STOP BEING HILARIOUS that jenny left town and giles was like “i have a gut feeling she’ll come back” and then she didn’t and the series ended. and i know this was likely because of the writer switch but it is truly the most perfect calendiles ending ever. galaxy brain take is jenny being like “i’m leaving” and giles just sitting there like “ok :)” waiting for her to come home because that is what she always does. i refuse to believe that she doesn’t at some point after the end of the comics but IF SHE DOES NOT IT IS SO FUNNY because there is this existing implication that she’s done this so many times he cannot POSSIBLY take it seriously

Half asleep dumb Stobotnik AU/fic prompt idea where every single eggman falls head of heels for Stone instantly.

All the different Sonic universes all crossover, and as soon as Stone shows up dramatic villain speech, genius evil scheme and praising robotnik every single version of Eggman is just smitten.

Any alliances or plans they had of working together are thrown out because every single one of them is now focused on Stone. 'World domination can wait this is far more important'.

It gets even crazier when the Eggmen who are on better terms with their respective Sonic and co go to them asking for help.

'Sonic I need your help, yes I know I tried to kill you yesterday but this is important'

The Boomverse Sonic and co start helping and then suddenly it starts to become a competition all of the Sonic's competitive streaks are activated and they are not losing to another version of themselves at anything even this.

Other Eggmen are very confused when their respective Sonic and co break in and suddenly brainstorming dating plans for him and Stone.

Stone isn't sure whats going on.

The Wachowskis are watching all of this while eating popcorn.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT, SONIC BOOM IS A PART OF THE SHATTERVERSE

I know this isn't possible because of the fact a version of sonic exists ruins the entire theory but PLEASE humor me anyways cause.. its a cool concept okay

First off, similarly to every other universe in the shatter verse, each character is stripped of a fundamental part of them/one aspect is exaggerated. which is very clearly shown in the boomverse.

Second, they all have different designs compared to their counterparts in the "real world"

Third, cross dimension teleporting has been seen and shown throughout the series

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: THEY HAVE A WHOLE LITERAL SHARD THERE??? IN SONIC BOOM, THE THING THAT POWERS THE CITY IS A LITERAL CRYSTAL THEY CALL THE "MEROKE CRYSTAL".

Its just WAAAY too similar. The fact they even have it hooked up and everything. (and the way these two pictures look so similar too is crazy.)

To make it even more believable, the shard/crystal LITERALLY LIGHTS UP ONCE IT HAS POWER.

Now okay I know I get it, the shard in sonic boom has infinite power, Rouge isn't in the boomverse, and Sonic logically cannot be there for the theory to work. But you do have to admit they look wicked similar and things have seemed to tie into and hint at boom being a lot more cannon as of recently. The talk of "the ancients" in sonic frontiers, Sticks being name dropped, and now the weirdly similar thing with this. Just food for thought I guess!

I sure would love reading fics about them, if they existed! 😭

(they do, a little. Mostly set in the Boomverse, though)

I find them cute, what can I say, I have a very specific dynamic in mind and I think they would have a fun dynamic not too dissimilar from Sonknux' "I butt heads with you every day because you're a stubborn mule but I still respect you and enjoy your presence". Unlike most ships, I would like to see more of their dynamic precisely because they're pretty similar in most matters, it's just that Amy is friend-shaped and Knuckles would rather not lol.

Speaking of which!

There are more Sonknux fics, but from what I found, most of them have them being already together, while I would like to explore more of their tension together.

I like them as a rival ship :) the two are great foils for each other and they have overall a nice, evolving dynamic, from misguided enemies to teeth-clenched rivals to good friends who still butt heads (I think the turning point for them was Heroes, I like that moment when Sonic thanks Knuckles and he's all "bro????????"). Never forget that they had their own special theme in Fighters! And it slaps immensely!

Universe: Boomverse

Description: Quick on her feet, headstrong, and passionate in everything she does, Mambele is a well-known archeologist and treasure hunter( like a mobian version of Indiana Jones). On occasions, will give classes and conferences on her findings, whether it be on her latest treasure find, rediscovered, or newly discovered abandoned civilizations, or etc.

During a particular hunt, among strange ruins, no doubt left behind by the ancients, or at least a group in close association with them, Mambele scours the haunting crumbling city. After a day of searching around and coming up short, she heads back to her camp only to drop through the floor into what she first assumes is a cave. Only to discover a chamber of sorts. Cords and cables, advanced looking machinery lining the weathered walls. She sees a doorway on the opposite side of the room. That must be the entrance then. Long vines and weeds cover the doorway and dangling through cracks in the ceilings, covering numerous pods of sorts. She's not sure what is inside of them, but she does take into account that they were no longer working. No sounds or lights coming from any of the twenty or so pods. Well, none of them, but one. She takes a closer look, wiping away at least an inch worth of dust, to reveal what looked to be an egg. Resting her hand on the metal surface of the machine, she accidentally brushes her hand against a pad. A screen to her right comes on, showing what must be the vitals of whatever was in the egg. They were still alive?! After some quick thinking and good guesses, she manages to open the pod safely. Observing the egg, she hesitates to touch it. Unbelievable. Absolutely extraordinary. This one little egg somehow survived whatever calamity befell its people. She must be very careful. She cups her hands, ready to take the little miracle into her hands, but halts at the sound of a crack. In less than a couple minutes of being freed from its glass casing, whatever lay inside, for who knows how long, was already so eager to come out. She waits another minute, holding her breath for what fell like hours, before finally, a little snout pops out. The little creatures muzzle, biting at its egg with a single little tooth. She begins to hear squeaks and grunts come from the infant inside a it pulls its head back and reaches its hand through the hole. Bright red fur is the first feature she notices, along with a tiny clawed and spured hand. What sort of mobian is this? If it even is mobian. With an efforted cry, they finally tears their egg in two. Giving her a full view of what her mystery creature. Her eyes are wide, and her mouth is set in a thin line. She can't believe what she's seeing. There is no way. It's impossible. They've been extinct for centuries. And yet, here before her, a little round, bright red echidna puggle wiggles out from his egg. Half of it still sitting on his head. His eyes squinted up at her, showing off his beautiful violets. She can not believe it. Even as he smiles and squeaks for her attention, she can't believe it. What sort of technology could do this!? Preserve an egg for hundreds upon hundreds of years! She's broken from her thought as the puggle lets out a whine. He's looking right at her, wanting her attention and warmth. She hadn't noticed before, but the room was fairly cold. He shivers and looks at her with such sad little eyes. She snaps out of her shock and picks him up. A happy coo came from the little one as he's lifted against her. And did his best to snuggle as close as he could. Mambele carefully wraps her arms around him and observes as he finally gets comfortable. So many emotions and questions run rampant in her mind, but something inside of her manages to push it all down for now. Those could be dealt with later. She must focus on the now. Like, packing up and getting home as soon as possible. This puggle will no doubt be hungry soon, and she has nothing prepared at home for caring for a young one. She takes a breath and makes her way to her camp, to gather her things and leave.

She'd never planned on having a family. Far too busy with her work. But once Knux comes along, she becomes very dotting and overprotective of the puggle. And even with little to no knowledge on infants, she looks to books and motherly instinct to guide her in properly caring for and nurturing her new charge. Her new son.

they're forced to admit they don't want a rivalry with anyone else. then they make up and immediately go back to trying to kill each other.

fun details:

eggman's new rival is first... just some guy. like a hero for hire or whatever. second, metal sonic/cyborg sonic, then lastly, knuckles

sonic's new rival is first, just some guy, villains for hire dot com (i like parallels ok), second, tails makes sonic a robot eggman but its just not the same :(, then lastly, also knuckles

the knuckles 3-way fight is broken up by amy who forces sonic and eggman to admit that they dont really want to fight knuckles

the whole thing is framed as a cheesy romantic breakup complete with insane jealousy. its just that sonic and eggman want to be the only one to destroy the other

the inciting incident, sonic and eggman's first match (where they get SUPER HEATED) this episode is also the inciting incident for the b and c plots.

b plot for this whole episode is that orbot and cubot get damaged in the fight, and they break a piece of machinery where tails is the only current manufacturer. tails is trying to get orbot and cubot to come in for inspection but cubot's afraid of 'doctor visits'

c plot for this episode is that sticks and amy are trying to build a home for a local village member after the fight lands a tree directly on top of their house. every time they build something, eggman and sonic's new rivals also accidentally damage the house.

(Both) Geode, the unexpected sonadow tube baby (even funnier when he exists in boom canon tho he's also more mysterious in boom canon). Takes Sonic's place.

(Modern) Rudy, a knuxouge shipchild, takes Knuckles's place.

(Boom) Haste, the planned sonamy shipchild, Geode's slightly younger sibling. Takes Knuckles's place.

(Both) Hearken the four eared cat, Tails's apprentice. Takes Tails's place.

(Boom) Jezebell the mink, Haste's friend, takes Amy's place.

(Boom) Chivvy the Tasmanian devil, random kid Sticks found in some trash, takes Stick's place

And I haven't drawn any of them except Geode when he's a lil guy ! Woo

Boom episode where Sonic needs to pay rent or something (idk he just needs money fairly quickly). He spends the first few minutes of the episode going to every single business in town, only to find that none of them are hiring. EXCEPT Eggman actually has a (paid!) internship opening. Queue Sonic getting the job, and barely restraining himself from punching Eggman every time he makes up some menial, tedious task for Sonic to do (Count every grain of sand on this beach! Paint the lair! Watch it dry, then paint it a different color! Go door to door handing out flyers promoting Eggman Industries!)

Eventually Eggman gets bored of this and attacks Sonic. Sonic destroys the robots, and it turns out that trying to kill your intern is a breach of contract. Eggman has to pay Sonic, and the episode ends with a return to the status quo

HELP? i can picture this actually happening like this is pretty much their dynamic in the boomverse

lemme add onto this and say that sonic probably owes money to meh burger because shadow overcharged him AGAIN and he'll be damned if he gets the money by washing their dishes so he has no choice but to work for eggman. then shadow shows up in the middle of this plot again and asks whats going on and when he has it explained to him, he very sincerely goes, "my condolences." its unclear if hes talking to sonic or eggman considering how much he fucking hates both of them separately. he does nothing to lift sonics debt either

oh and eggmans also annoyed because he really thinks sonics useless in the lab setting and wishes he got tails instead (again), hence why he keeps giving him nothing but menial tasks. the rest of the plot goes exactly as you said and sonic successfully pays for his fast food. no one knows where the money goes after that. omega probably shredded it all for funsies.

Boom!Rouge makes a wish to become bigger, and as a result becomes fatter, carrying the most weight in their belly, which is now an enormous, yoga ball-sized, tight, round belly. It hangs down to Boom!Rouge's knees, causing them to waddle slowly. The bloating has caused their belly button to pop into an outie. Their ass is a bit more plush, their thighs a bit thicker, but this is barely noticable compared to their new belly. The expansion has also caused lots of gurgling from their belly. They want someone to spoil and worship them for their sexy new size.

Sticks told her the unidentifiable ape like hand does this.

Question 2: This one's about the Echidnas of the Boomverse but it's more of an 'aesthetic' question, for lack of a better term, then a lire one. So do you Headcanon that all of the Echidna in the Boomverse were big like Knuckles or do you think Knuckles is an outlier (or at least would have been)? I guess this is more a question about Tikal and how I should visualize her in my head tho lol. I was browsing through Hydroxian art blog and their Tikal redesign spawned this question in my head.

@its-just-a-glitch and I remembered to tag you this time!!

Okay so for this one is definitely a mix, so Knuckles is definitely on the larger side of the spectrum of echidna's in terms of heights. Think of it in human terms he'd be a dude who easily clocks 6'6. Echidnas tend to be on the larger and bulkier side of things but Knuckles is a BIG boy. When he was a puggle his momma needed both hands to heft that sweet red lump of bab around.

I LOVE that you mention the Hydroxian art blog, the way she draws the echidnas and Metal Sonic are huge inspos for me in general but yes Tikal was absolutely inspired to be a little more strong bodied because of their particular take!
