So these two. I'm gonna talk about them, assuming they are Boscha's parents

Even my personal interpretation on Boscha's moms is messy lmao, I can't decide if I want them to be caring but a little too much (pushing too hard and overwhelming but do care for their daughter) or be like the Blights where one is like that (but deeply uncaring) and the other is sorta laid back.

We only know one of them was competitive with Odalia in school (I'm going with light pink three eyes given her general air of confidence), but due to whatever happening, things never really panned out, and so now she lives vicariously through Boscha. Mom 2 we know nothing about but she could parallel Willow, or Skara?? That's at least the popular interpretation

There's so many ways I could write these two and I can never decide how 💀 but I do wanna know, if anyone else here writes stuff with them involved at all or just has headcanons in general, how yall interpret them

Drabble: Hellish Principal

It was a quiet night on the Boiling Isles. Eda didn't have a good dream. She dreamed that she was together with her sister, Darius, Raine, Perry, Alador and two other schoolmates, trapped in a classroom with their former Principal, who tortured them.

Suddenly, the dream became so much more pleasant as her precious Little Star showed up. The celestial boy with otherworldly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold saved everyone. Something Colli definitely would do.

I personally think the TOH ending is great.

Belos got exactly what he deserved, no sympathy at all, and just like Raine said: it was satisfying.

Things weren't perfect right after Belos died. They've spent years rebuilding and fixing the world and figuring out how to make it work again. They've had time to heal.

I'm specially happy with how the kids ended up. Luz got to travel between worlds whenever she wanted, not having to give up neither being a witch or her life with her mom, and she even goes to college at the Boiling Isles at the end. Amity's body type seems closer to Odalia's when she's older, and she looks like she's been adventuring a lot; she looks happier than ever. Gus (who looks amazing, by the way) gets to teach people about his interests. Willow is still playing Flyer Derby and living her best life. And Hunter is now working with Dell as a palisman carver; he even made himself a cute new palisman (named Waffles, according to Dana Terrace on Twitter), while still honoring Flapjack.

Those endings fit them all and I love how happy they all looked. I loved Titan Luz, I loved Camila meeting Eda and King, I loved Darius reuniting with Hunter, that Aladarius moment later, and most of all I loved how everyone (including Tibbles and Boscha lmao) was in that last frame except Odalia. Just perfect.

so luz went from the girl at school failing her classes with no friends, completely misunderstood by her teachers, other kids, her mom even, to the girl with friends for life (and an awesome girlfriend) who has half the people on the boiling isles show up for her quinceañera because turns out she's a hero and she's found the place she belongs and is understood and completely loved for who she is

willow went from miserable, bullied girl who didn't believe she could do anything right and tried to make herself so small to a natural team leader and complete girlboss (with a cute boyfriend) who just...oozes confidence in everything that she is, there is no way you can look at her and believe people once dared to call her half-a-witch and if anyone did now she could take them to the cleaners except she couldn't care less and the rest of the hexsquad would do it for her anyway

gus went from the kid who didn't think he could do anything right to a confident teacher who gets to show students his passion for the human realm (and he can pop in and out all the time which is the dream!) and being a prodigy is really a gift now, not something that sets him apart and makes him a target but instead an awesome teacher who can empathize with students having a hard time and is just plain cool on top of all that as he teaches them not to eat paperclips

amity went from one dimensional mean girl actually desperately trying to earn her parents' approval to wild, adventure seeking author who made up for who she was, cut ties with her emotionally abusive mother and terrible friends, has a close relationship with her dad now plus the best friends ever (byeeee boscha), and also has an awesome girlfriend as she travels all over the isles doing exactly what she wants with no one controlling her

and wow okay hunter went from the golden guard who obeyed belos' every order out of the insane desire to be needed and special without realizing if he messed up belos was literally growing his replacement because he was always just a copy of someone belos both hated but couldn't let go of haha that's dark to being just hunter who has guardians he doesn't have to flinch away from and tons of friends and he gets to carve palismen just how he wanted and his girlfriend could definitely bench press him and he'll always remember the first friend who ever found him (chose him!!) and saved his life in so many ways THE HEXSQUAD IS SO GOOD I JUST!!!!!!!

I wanted to draw/write out my thoughts I had with the gusthololosers as young adults going thru their 20something boydrama breakup and how Calcifer’s existence wound up getting them talking again… exes to roommates to coparents to lovers arc . Drawing these expressions and interactions was so so fun they’re so goofy

also before you ask- in my headcanon lore world whatever for toh, two witches of any agab can reproduce because of different biology, but this could also be interpreted as Matt being transmasc!! Willow has two bio dads and Boscha has two bio moms so don’t come for me

I find it interesting that Willow definitely understands that Amity hurt her, and doesn't struggle as much to hold her accountable to that; She's setting up her boundaries, particularly in S2B. By contrast, she's a lot more excusing to Hunter; This can be attributed to him not having hurt Willow in that same way, it was like one incident but he showed he really didn't know better, and learned from and made up for it within the same day.

So when Hunter starts going through stuff in For the Future he becomes the immediate —even if not the overall— source of Willow's feelings of inefficacy, which is why it's vital that it's Hunter who clears things out and apologizes for not being more responsive, that his behavior is not a reflection of Willow's failings as a person and it won't be.

Which of course, shows how he's better than his uncle; Hunter isn't going to turn Willow into his own Grimwalker, or Caleb, as someone trying their best but he just won't listen and in their perfect compassionate selflessness they get killed by him before they can stand up for themselves. When he tells Willow she didn’t do anything wrong nor make anything worse, it reminds me of how those in abusive relationships will blame themselves for their abuser being upset and unresponsive to attempts to make them feel better. Hunter knows he makes mistakes and isn't going to blame it on others, he's actually going to take an opportunity to be better when offered it by those same people; Those people will not blame themselves for not being ‘compassionate’ enough.

And you can also see that in the Collector and Luz, who do seem to wonder if they should've done more with that same abuser Hunter is thinking of. And Luz and Willow are both struggling in that episode with the feeling that surely they must be able to fix it; They just didn't, so it's their fault, and they CAN blame someone instead of accepting that you can do everything right and it'll still go wrong. Because it's messed up accepting the world is kinda chaotic and not based on justice, fairness, or logic, most of the time.

For Willow, it just feeds into her people-pleasing tendencies and her feelings of being inadequate, because not being good enough for Amity was what started it all! So that really stuck with her, and with the aforementioned grace towards Hunter and need to be in control, it's just setting up Willow to be sooo repressed. Just silently smiling through it all over again, figuring she just needs to put in more work like Amity insinuated in their mutual debuts.

And then it finally festers into something explosive that detonates towards the nearest acceptable target (Boscha), who is easier to be mad at because Willow doesn't want to ruin things with a new friend. And she hasn't fully mastered her boundaries yet, she can do it with obvious examples who clearly hurt her, but she still feels the need to wait for something long and agonizing before setting her foot down, instead of just doing that preemptively to prioritize her own health. And in Hunter's case he isn't consciously hurting Willow so it's easy to make excuses because Willow's still struggling with being demure, she's just repackaged and rebranded her issues as the Mom Friend.

Their dynamic in FtF is fascinating because you can see the setup of Hunter following in his uncle's footsteps, and the setup of Willow regressing into that same "Half-a-witch" persona that's trying to be as small as possible, apologizing for being in the way and not good enough, and meekly asking not to be stepped on; Before suddenly exploding in an unstable, unraveling fashion that just as quickly wraps itself back up. Just a walking mine of resentment which, given how she did hold anger towards Amity, maybe it could've eventually been directed at Hunter, leading to paradoxical feelings of shame and frustration at being made this way... Unlike the Calebs, Willow might consider actual harm to her Wittebane in this bad ending. IDK. It didn't happen, thank god. Or Gus, same difference.

Hunter’s concluding storyline was about him forgoing confronting his uncle physically by confronting his uncle spiritually because not only does he not care whether he’s Caleb, but he’s choosing not to be Belos either, even when given the self-pitying opportunity to do so. So I think it’s just fine he didn’t personally kill the man.

This and Hunter’s magic focusing on evasion, and his palismen creation? It all feels like a direct defiance to his witch hunter ‘heritage’, an ideology based in supremacy, aggression, and violence. Hunter gave up on destroying his enemy in favor of being kind to someone trying to reach out, and not remain bitter from the automatic response of stress and anger; He prioritizes peace now. Willow might resemble Belos to Hunter in some ways, but she’s also the Grimwalker to Hunter’s own Belos; And they fix that!

Likewise, Willow isn’t going to be Boscha either, who seems to be a leader but is actually clinging to someone else for validation; Be it Kikimora or Amity. And in Boscha’s case she has to be told that she can’t just depend on someone to be who they can’t/won’t be, whether that’s for good reasons or not, and just should just grow a spine. Not in the insecure Throwing your weight around sense. But just being normal about other people having other things in their life.

Honestly, given her initial attitude towards Amity, the paradoxical resentment followed by dependence anyway. It’s like what I said about a Bad Ending Huntlow. Imagine if Boscha had festered enough resentment to be truly aggressive, like a Willow whose Hunter never apologized, and who didn’t walk out ahead of time for her own health. Boscha relevant for Willow’s arc here too, and for other themes as well.

Huntlow Renders - Bathing Suits

Hopefully, I'll actually make the beach date drawing this year unlike when I made the winter coat renders last winter for a "The Knee" date drawing and then never fucking made it-

Anywayyy, behold, Huntlow bathing suit designs! My gut just told me Hunter would wear a wetsuit to the beach. After I finished the drawing I realized that perhaps Hunter wears wetsuits because his scars are sensitive and he wants to avoid getting sunburnt as much as possible. Then I realized "Wow I'm projecting on Hunter again," because no joke I am the palest mf in my entire ass family. I may have dummy thick Maltese hair from my great grandfather on my dad's mom's side, but my damn mother's father's side gave me the stupid ass pale irish skin with a million fucking freckles. I will turn into a lobster at the beach and I barely tan, I literally wear long sleeve bathing suits just because of that. Just so I have to put less fucking sunblock on lmao. Hunter is cloned off a British man so I suppose he can relate to getting burnt like a lobster LMAO.

Anyway, for Willow I of course, wanted to amplify her body positivity by putting her in a bikini. Listen, Willow may be insecure about a lot, but I don't think her weight is one of them. I don't think she'd mind wearing a bikini at her weight. Seriously, she is not once made fun of for her weight. Not even by Boscha, and Boscha makes fun of her for wearing glasses at one point! Think about it, in any other piece of media, the mean girl would 100% make fun of the bullied, stereotypically "unattractive," girl for being overweight. There was no way the crew didn't ever have Boscha make fun of Willow's weight for no reason. This was a deliberate choice, and I'm all here for it.

Representation of bodies like Willow literally saves lives. It's okay to have weight on you as long as you take care of yourself and are healthy overall!

Remember, eating disorders have an incredibly high morality rate. It's never worth it to starve yourself. Please don't do start yourself down that path because society says you must be skinny to be attractive or loved, because people like Willow exist in real like and are valued and loved for who they are, not what they look like. Because I am one of those real life people. I am overweight and wear glasses just like Willow and I still found love and are valued by my friends and family. And if you don't have those people in your life, beileve me, there are people out there that will love you and your body for who you are. You just have to let yourself find them.
