Após vários pedidos, decidi postar algumas fotos do processo que segui para a criação da cortina de garrafas de vidro. Após coletar criteriosamente o material, deixo aos poucos as garrafas imersas na agua (por pelo menos um dia) para retirar mais facilmente os adesivos. Depois limpo a cola restante com thinner e prossigo com a furação na parte de baixo de cada garrafa. Para fixar os cabos de aço decidi deixar de lado a ideia de instalar uma moldura de madeira (aumentaria o custo) e fiz a furação da parte inferior na própria pedra são tomé aqui da varanda e da superior no próprio vigamento de madeira que sustenta o telhado. Na parte inferior e superior foram então fixados ganchos e só nos de baixo foram fixados os esticadores. A escolha da posição das garrafas nos cabos é então feita seguindo uma escolha consciente, considerando o numero de garrafas disponíveis para cada forma e cor, assim como a direção com que a luz solar incidirá na cortina, e só então cada cabo é preso nas pontas e o conjunto é encaixado nos ganchos.

Saibam: as formas de explorar o posicionamento das garrafas são várias. Dependendo do gosto do cliente e da situação encontrada no local onde será instalada a cortina, pode-se até cogitar esconder os ganchos e os esticadores por entre ripas de madeiras, uma moldura, plantas, ou até usar barras de ferro pintadas no lugar dos cabos, diminuindo o custo final.

Our main #bottlewall in our #earthship-inspired #earthbag house. What's so cool about bottle walls? Well, you can build a beautiful, permanent wall out of FREE materials! It's a great use for glass - did you know that less than 30% of glass in the US is recycled? That's an even worse percentage than plastic! I will build a plastic bottle house at some point, as well, using the bottles for insulative infill. We have to get MUCH smarter with our use of resources. We can't afford to think of anything as "waste." Here's the inner wall of our wood shed. The bottom part of the wall is #earthbag. The next part is #cordwood and #bottlewall in #cob that we built during our last workshop. The windows were acquired for free off of craigslist. The wood is inexpensive wood from local saw mills. The roof and main structure of the shed are post and beam. This kind of project is why I'm so excited about our upcoming EB Tiny House Building Workshop!
