A beautiful pair of antique French "poissardes" (transl. "fishwife") earrings. Their name is said to come from either the female fish sellers who allegedly wore them while selling their goods in Paris markers or, more likely, from their fish hook shape. This example is decorated with enamelled pansies - a word play on "pensez à moi" (French for “think of me"), which was a popular motif in French regional jewels made in Normandy. I’m a lazy dresser-upper. So thank goodness for red lipstick and earrings, two things that can easily take a simple t-shirt to new heights.

When I was a little girl on a family trip in Italy, I found one lone Creole earring on the path to the beach. I’ve been an earring huntress ever since, even though I never did find the match. . I don’t know about you but, when it’s hot as hell out, I like to have as little touching my skin as possible. Which is why I’ve been wearing mostly earrings during the heatwave this past week. First pic is some of the silver silver and gold pieces available in the shop right now. Second pic are a few from my personal collection. I’ve had the gold hoops since I was 14 years old. They’re pretty much a wardrobe staple. Anyone else out there an earring fan?
