Die beiden Curated-Shopping-Dienste Outfittery und Modomoto schließen sich – wie schon berichtet und kommentiert – zusammen. Das Handelsblatt feierte die Fusion, die im Grunde eine Übernahme ist, mit dem Titel: “Julia Bösch vergrößert Outfittery – und fusioniert mit Modomoto”. Man könnte aber auch schreiben: “Julia Bösch rettet Outfittery – und fusioniert mit Modomoto” (siehe auch dsTV unten). Zum Stand der Dinge vor der Übernahme: Bis Ende 2017 sammelte Outfittery, 2012 gegründet, Verluste von insgesamt 53,7 Millionen Euro an – siehe Zahlencheck für 2017. Ende 2017 hatte das Unternehmen, das damals auch Arbeitsplätze abgebaut hat, zudem kaum noch Kohle auf dem Konto. Der Rohertrag (Nettoumsatz nach Retouren, Rabatten und Wareneinsatz) des Unternehmens lag zu diesen zeitpunkt bei 26,3 Millionen. Der Aufbau von Modomoto wiederum kostete bis Ende 2017 gerade einmal rund 5 Millionen. Das junge Unternehmen, 2012 gegründet, erwirtschaftete zuletzt ein Rohergebnis in Höhe von 12,7 Millionen Euro. Der Jahrefehlbetrag verringerte sich 2017 aber auf minimale 626.001 Euro – siehe Zahlencheck für 2017. Laut Presseaussendung zu Fusion kamen beide Unternehmen zusammen zuletzt – in den vergangenen zwölf Monaten – auf rund 80 Millionen Euro Umsatz. “In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir unabhängig voneinander zwei erfolgreiche Unternehmen aufgebaut, um das Shoppingerlebnis für Männer entspannter und einfacher zu machen”, sagt Outfittery-Gründerin Julia Bösch. Wobei Modomoto finanziell deutlich besser aufgestellt war, kapitaleffizienter gearbeitet hat als das extrem verlustreiche Outfittery! “Nun ist der Zeitpunkt gekommen, gemeinsam ein stärker aufgestelltes, gesamteuropäisches Curated Shopping Unternehmen aufzubauen”, führt sie weiter aus. Auf die Idee hätten die vielen beteiligten Investoren und die Gründer der beiden Wettbewerber aber auch einmal deutlich früher kommen können. Aber hinterher ist man bekanntlich immer schlauer. Outfittery ist derzeit in acht Märkten (DACH, BeNeLux, SE, DK) präsent. Modomoto wiederum ist in der DACH-Region unterwegs. Hinzu kommen noch der 2016 übernommene Wettbewerber The Cloakroom (BE/NE/DE/SK) und Box31 (FR). Künftig soll es aber nur noch Outfittery geben! “Die Sub-Marken werden komplett in der Hauptmarke Outfittery aufgehen”, teilt das Unternehmen mit. Das fusionierte Unternehmen wird künftig von Outfittery-Gründerin Bösch geführt. “Das Management-Team beider Unternehmen bleibt weiterhin an Bord und wird Outfittery durch die nächste Wachstumsphase führen: Andreas Fischer wird künftig als Chief Strategy Officer die Entwicklung und Strategie von Outfittery vorantreiben. Marc Sonntag (Modomoto-COO) wird als Director Operations die Logistik und den Kundenservice verantworten und Mathias Fiedler (Modomoto-CTO) als Director IT Architecture die Leitung des Tech Bereichs unterstützen und die technische Integration der beiden Plattformen koordinieren”, teilten die Jungfirmen mit. Modomoto-Mitgründerin Corinna Powalla, die in der Pressemitteilung zur Fusion ansonsten nicht weiter erwähnt wird, wird sich aus dem operativen Geschäft zurückziehen, bleibt aber Gesellschafterin des zusammengeschlossenen Unternehmens. Das neue Unternehmen beschäftigt zusammen rund 450 Mitarbeiter. Wobei die interne Logistikteam von Modomoto nun abgewickelt wird. These guys are older than some SSEC characters (Not Harmony tho, she was like- the 5th character from the Prequel comics drawn and technically first SSEC character I designed) AND I HAVE A LOT OF ATTATCHMENT TO THEM!!!
