Cubs, Brad Wieck Agree To Minor League Deal
Cubs, Brad Wieck Agree To Minor League Deal
The Cubs are in agreement on a two-year minor league contract with lefty Brad Wieck, reports Robert Murray of FanSided.  The two-year term of the deal is due to the fact that the southpaw is expected to miss most — if not all — of the 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in July. Wieck is represented by CAA. The 31-year-old Wieck has spent the past four seasons with the Cubs, pitching…

Cubs Hit 3 HR’s To Beat Twins In Last Tune Up.
Twins 3 Cubs 4 W-Underwood (1-0) L-Bailey (0-1) SV-Wieck (1)
The Minnesota Twins and Chicago Cubs had their final tune-up before Opening Day on Friday night for both teams. The Cubs flexed their muscles in what turned out to be a low-scoring affair at Wrigley Field. Ian Happ led-off the first inning with a single to left to get things started. The next batter, Anthony Rizzo, drilled a Homer Bailey slider out to right for a two-run blast. This put the Cubs up 2-0 and they weren’t done yet. Three batters later, Willson Contreras smoked a Homer Bailey fastball out to right-center for a homer that landed in the basket. The solo homer put Chicago up 3-0 after an inning of play. Willson Contreras got back to work for the Cubs in the third. He smacked a Homer Bailey fastball out to deep center field. His second homer put the Cubs up 4-0 after three frames. The Twins would finally get to Jon Lester in the fifth when Max Kepler walked with one-out. David Ross went to the bullpen and Ehire Adrianza greeted Dillon Maples with a single to right. Two passed balls scored a run and a wild pitch plated another run. The two gift runs pulled the Twins within two and they kept inching closer in the seventh. Luis Arraez was hit in the arm with a pitch to start the inning. Josh Donaldson singled to right and Nelson Cruz walked to load up the bases. Jorge Polanco hit into a fielder’s choice, which scored a run and the Twins were within a run after seven innings of play. Duane Underwood struck out two in the eighth and Brad Wieck had a clean ninth as the Cubs closed the exhibition portion of the season with a win tonight.
-Final Thoughts- Homer Bailey was working on his change-up a lot early and it might have costed him. He went three innings and allowed four runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Tyler Clippard had a quick fourth, Matt Wisler had a clean fifth, and Zack Littell had a 1-2-3 sixth. Caleb Thielbar had a perfect seventh and Jorge Alcala struck out one in a scoreless eighth. Eddie Rosario led the team with two hits on the night. The Twins hit 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. Byron Buxton didn’t play, so he likely won’t start on Opening Day. Jake Odorizzi will not pitch in the White Sox series to open the season with a back injury. Next up, the Twins play a real game for the first time since last October. Jose Berrios faces Lucas Giolito in the series opener on Friday night. Rich Hill gets the start on Saturday afternoon and Kenta Maeda will start on Sunday afternoon.

Una curva que merece un piropo
Dicen que hay curvas que merecen un piropo. Esta curva no solo lo lleva, sino que obligó a Kyle Seager a agacharse pensando que la bola lo iba a golpear.
Curva apta para piropo:
Looks like Brad Wieck fooled Seager a little… pic.twitter.com/cXh4gE8CCc

San Diego Padres to another Big Win With This Milwaukee Brewers Sweep
The San Diego Padres made a clean sweep winning against Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday. Buy the Cheap San Diego Padres Tickets from Bbtix right away. Because Padres has become hot stuff right now, so remember to watch them the next time they play. The Wednesday Game was a wonderful example of a perfect homestand. The San Diego Padres were lacking behind for quite some time now. But time changes and this time is Padre’s time to shine.
At first, it was just to break the losing streak for the San Diego Padres. And now they are winning four straight games including the one they won Wednesday over the Milwaukee Brewers.
What’s Up With San Diego Padres?
Ironically, there isn’t much difference in the way they play. In fact started on a late note this time as well, somewhere around the seventh inning to make that 8-7 win against Brewers.  This was the three games series on their homeland that Padres won with this game. They are to start a 5-game road trip on Friday.
Tickets are on sale for their upcoming matches at Bbtix along with San Diego Padres Tickets Coupon. Don’t waste any more time idling about, they are selling fast. So it is either now or you can miss the chance.
Padres’ Heroes of the Game:
This time the heroes of the game were right fielder Franmil Reyes and first baseman, Eric Hosmer. Reyes went 3-for-4 with three RBI, and Hosmer was 3-for-5 with 2 RBI.
But to be honest, things were nasty up until the seventh inning. From Matt Strahm giving up 2 homers in the fifth to Brad Wieck providing another two runs to Milwaukee in just 0.1 of an inning and Gerardo Reyes blowing the chance of save. Everything was a mess.
To support Padres in the upcoming games, wouldn’t it be great to be physically there? You can cheer shouting your lungs out with the Discount San Diego Padres Tickets.
Strahm’s blunder got Brewers four runs over five hits. During his last three starts, Strahm has allowed 6 total homers and 17 runs. Also, Brad Wieck missing that save got another homer to former Padre Yasmani Grandal.
The bullpen continued to hit and miss until Reyes stepped in the seventh to credit the win.
Conclusion:
With this clean against Brewers, the San Diego Padres are finally back to the .500 mark. They’re tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West for third place now lagging with 12 games.
That’s only like this because the Los Angeles Dodgers leads the division with their 50 wins. Becoming the first MLB Game to make 50 wins on this Wednesday.
So even when Padres are winning the games recently, there are same dangers lurking around them that caused their struggles this early June. Let’s hope that they’ll be able to turn the tables while they fight over Pittsburgh Pirates for the next weekend. Gaining wins after wins are exactly they need to trail the Dodgers.
