Lyubov, who worked as an accountant, lived under Russian occupation for nearly a year and “in January of this year, they came for me,” she said.
Speaking via a translator, she said that Russian soldiers forced their way into her house, claiming they were looking for weapons, and confiscated “a map of Ukraine, the flag of Ukraine, souvenir magnets with Ukraine images, and a token with blue and yellow ribbon symbolizing victims of World War II.”
“Those were their evidence against me,” she said.
She was taken to what she called a “torture chamber” and held for five days, where she said she was beaten, forced to undress, cut with a knife and threatened with rape and murder(..)
P.S. The so-called "pacifists" and all other Russophiles who hinder the strengthening of Ukraine's self-defense capabilities are actually complicit in Russian war crimes...

I dunno how i missed this until just now. A six year old got mad at his teacher so he shot her from the gun he probably got from his parents. His parents (or a relative at least) probably decided to “teach them young” and groomed their child into thinking that guns are good.
She’s stable as of right now, at least. I don’t know anything about the kid’s parents yet. All I got was “they could be charged.” Could.
Edit: The gun was from his mom. (The link could automatically play videos with audio on full. I automatically mute before clicking news link now so I don’t know if this one does or not.)
So let’s speedrun through the gun nut’s talking points
“If only there were good six year olds with guns.”
“If only the teachers were armed”
“We need MORE police in school!”
“We need less doors and windows!”
“Why are you blaming the inanimate object (the weapon that’s the cause of the teacher’s injury) instead of the mentally ill shooter?!” (The six year old who was taught how guns works for some reason.)
Edit: “How do YOU plan on enforcing gun control? It’s impossible. (Ignore every country where gun control works please.)” (England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.)
Edit 2: Apparently gun nuts can’t read because I still got the dumbass “how do you plan to enforce gun control?!” question from multiple people.

A New York judge has set a trial date of March 25, 2024, for the criminal case against former President Donald Trump, potentially setting up a media spectacle in the middle of the Republican presidential primary season.
The trial date was set during a brief hearing Tuesday in which Judge Juan Merchan read Trump an order on what he can and cannot say publicly about the case and evidence his legal team will get from prosecutors to prepare for trial.
Trump appeared remotely via video feed so the judge could communicate with him in open court.

In one company-funded trial in adults 60 and older, the results of which were published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, the vaccine prevented RSV-associated lower respiratory tract illness – which includes acute bronchitis and pneumonia – and prevented RSV-associated acute respiratory illness, with no apparent safety concerns.
In another company trial, whose interim results were also published in the journal on Wednesday, the RSV vaccine was given during late-stage pregnancy and was found to be effective against severe RSV-associated lower respiratory tract illness such as pneumonia and bronchiolitis, or inflammation of the small airway passages entering the lungs, in infants. There were no safety concerns identified.
Pfizer is seeking the US Food and Drug Administration’s approval for its RSV vaccine for older adults.
In a separate request, Pfizer has asked the FDA to approve its RSV vaccine with pregnant people to protect infants. The company says it expects that decision by August.

No matter what Trump did, or didn’t do, this is very bad for the country. Israel and India as well are going through tough political times too, the schism between left and right seems to ever widening. We live in troubled times.

The FBI has arrested two alleged Chinese agents and federal prosecutors have charged dozens of others with working to silence and harass dissidents within the United States – with some even operating an “undeclared police station” in New York City.
Lu Jianwang and Chen Jinping allegedly operated the police station in New York City’s Chinatown. Both men are US citizens and have been charged with conspiring to act as agents of the Chinese government and obstructing justice. The police station has been shut down since a search warrant was executed at the location last fall, according to John Marzulli, a spokesman for the US Attorney in the Eastern District of New York(..)

I know I’m late on talking about this. I’m still busy all the time and I didn’t know how I wanted to approach this topic without sounding like I’m using her to push a point.
Once I actually sat down and thought about it I realized that there’s no point to be made. She’s been bullied for being trans at school and then two of her bullies killed her.
There have been people using her death to push their idpol bullshit but I’m not in the mood to go through all of that right now.

Wind energy is an important plank in Norway’s green energy transition. The country’s electricity generation is already almost completely renewable. In 2020, more than 90% of its electricity was generated using hydropower and wind, which has increased 10-fold in the last decade, accounted for 6.5%.
