We have officially ended our breastfeeding journey. I wish I had a picture of the last time but I honestly didn’t even think that it really would be. It’s now been over a week since the last time we breastfed. It has been a total of 2 years and 10 months that we were so blessed to be able to have done it. And I don’t wanna hear about how that’s “too long” because each child is different and the health benefits speak for themselves. I’m so grateful for this season with her. I’m so grateful for our journey. For this bond. It may have come easy for us in the beginning, which after such a rough pregnancy was such a blessing in of itself, but we had our rough moments too. It was exhausting, tiring, and draining. Emotionally, physically, and mentally. There were many sleepless nights, many tears, many adjustments. And now we are starting a new chapter. I’m sad to leave this behind because it means she is officially no longer my baby. If you are breastfeeding or plan too. Take pictures even if you never share them, even if it’s only for a short time, trust me when I say you will look back and fondly remember, even in the hard moments. Breastfeeding was my first challenge as a mother, the pain and stress I experienced were indescribable. But I am truly blessed having full support from my family on this journey. Greatly thanks.. To my mama who first encouraged me to breastfeeding and to all her prayers. To my mother-in-law who never get tired of preparing and cooking soup meals with malunggay and papaya to increase/sustain my milk supply. To my very supportive sister-in-law who’s also 24/7 always willing to answer all my questions about motherhood. To our Ob-Gyne and lactation consultant, for their guidance and pro-tips. And to my husband, who patiently endures all my pain complaints and cries. This experience solidified for me the importance of patience, perseverance, and most importantly self-conviction. Once you have decided what is best for you and your child, hold steady to the decision and don’t let anyone try to sway you a different way. I am proud of all the struggles and successes I’ve had in breastfeeding with my now 2months and 2weeks old bouncing babygirl. To all new moms out there who is feeling alone in this breastfeeding battle and thinking of giving up. Hang in there. It is so worth it. A little patience and a good dose of perseverance and you’ll get there. You got this. Please keep working at it, you’re doing a great job, and ultimately you will be so happy you stuck with it and so will your baby. « tu ne dois pas avoir assez de lait maternel si tu n'as jamais de fuite ! » What ⁉️ Eh bien, c'est encore un mythe sur l'allaitement que j'ai entendu récemment... Alors, je me suis dit que ça serait intéressant d'en faire un post 😉 La vérité est que certaines mamans ont des fuites de lait alors que d'autres n'en ont jamais ✅ ➡️ Certaines ont des fuites au cours des premières semaines d'allaitement, puis à mesure que la production de lait se régule, elles cessent d'en avoir autant. ➡️ Et puis il y a celles qui ont tout le temps des fuites de lait ! Et devine quoi ? Peu importe dans quelle situation tu te trouves, cela est NORMAL ! Et ce n'est PAS un indicateur de ta production de lait ❌ Alors pourquoi certaines mamans ont-elles des fuites et d'autres pas ? 🤔 ✨ Eh bien cela est dû aux petits muscles situés à l'ouverture des mamelons. Ces muscles s'ouvrent et se referment en se serrant. Les Mam's qui n'ont jamais de fuites ont des muscles légèrement plus "forts" qui empêchent le lait de s'écouler. Malheureusement, il n'existe pas d'exercices pour renforcer les muscles des mamelons. C'est une de ces choses que nous ne pouvons pas contrôler ❌ En revanche, il est possible de gérer les fuites ! Voici quelques petites astuces 🙂 1️⃣ Allaiter en position inclinée ou couchée peut être utile car votre bébé peut ainsi mieux contrôler son alimentation 2️⃣Relâcher la pression 3️⃣ Utiliser les coussinets d'allaitement 4️⃣ Éviter les tisanes et les compléments favorisant la lactation Alors de quelle team fais tu parti ?
