Last years 2D madness, featuring the Stonewashed Bredli Python morph! Also known as the Centralian Carpet Python, Bredli are more isolated in comparison to the rest of the Morelia species. They're named after Josef "Joe" Bredl, an Australian crocodile conservationist 🐊 The more you know!
2D アートに戻る、 今回はブレドリパイソンです! ブレッドリはセントラリアンカーペットパイソンと呼ばれています。モレリア・ブレドリはより孤立している。 Josef "Joe" Bredl にちなんで名付けられました!

i hauv a question for the snake people ☝️ does anyone know if bredli pythons burrow/dig generally or have experience with one that does. this is the first time i've seen plato actually burrow into the substrate and i thought it was interesting so i looked it up but google says that bredlis don't generally burrow. idk

#peep the warrior cats novel collection in the background. jealous ladies?#snakes#snakeblr#idk#i found it odd but cute. he seems fine so i'm not sure whether it's normal or not#plato snake

It's always been so strange to me that ball pythons are so ubiquitous to the hobby. In Australia you can only keep native species and when I first really got into snakes and tried researching it was all ball pythons all the way down. Until I discovered some aussie specific sites
Also tangent I just saw a Bredli[what deidre is] describe as a moderate level snake on an american site when all the aussie research I did said they're actually pretty chill and are less prone to being snappy as adults then other morelia.
Then I realised it's probably because of the space requirements. They can be pretty active and are avid climbers so they need decent vertical space to explore and they can get big. Biggest records put them at 4 meters.
#bird chatter#Dede's forever enclosure cost me a pretty penny#but it's nice and tall with a decorated back#and plenty of space for me to move stuff around#to give him enrichment

Highlights of this week's episode of "my snakes are incredibly stupid"
Dzd (honduran milk snake) loves food so much. In the process of trying to eat a mouse, he bit the air several times, and himself. Twice.
Leo (Bredli python) stuck his nose in a hole he definitely does not fit through in the lid of his tank once I brought the mouse over, he was up near the top at the start and took a minute to figure out he needed to go down.
And now he is eating a mouse sideways. Buddy, I know you're ready for the next size up, but. Come on. That is not necessary. I would prefer you go back to eating them backwards.

Deidre post shed glam shots!! Look at that colour! The red brown really shows the best right after a shed. And look at his gorgeous golden eyes! He’s such a nice docile animal too.
Deidre is a hypo-morph centralian carpet python, also known as a bredli python

i am so IN LOVE these babies are so adorable and precious
Meet Namira and Hircine 😁
Namira is a hypo 66% het stripe female. Hircine is a 66% het stripe male from a different clutch. He is also from hypo blood and might end up a little lighter in color than typical wild type bredli, but he is not a hypo himself. I do think there's a good chance they will both prove out for genetic stripe, though, considering the significant striping they both display. Time will tell. And either way, they are both gorgeous animals and I'm so thrilled to have them!
These were quick photos immediately after unboxing. I will take better ones when I get home before leaving them to settle in 😊

Hey I'm wondering if anyone has made or seen a growth chart for bredlis?
Like even a roughly laid out chart of age to length and weight, or even a timeline of one person's snake(s)?
I've had my baby boy Leo for almost two years, and I've never kept any pythons before. He's okay, don't worry, and he's growing beautifully, but I haven't been able to track down any Bredli specific body condition or growth charts, so I'm relying on behavioural cues, photos and videos of trusted keeper's snakes, and charts for related species.
I promise I take good care of him, but it would just be reassuring to have specific references to make sure we're on the right track. I think he's a little skinny right now (you can probably see he's too triangular in the first Christmas tree picture) so I'm gonna feed a little more frequently for a bit. But, references are important! This is why!
Does anyone know where I could find something like that?
Here's the boy, I love him so you must see:

Image ID: three photos of my 2.5 year old Bredli python, Leodore. He's brown and white, the brown bands edged in black. In the first photo, he is curled up inside a tissue box. In the second and third he's in a Christmas tree, lounging in the branches in one and looking near the camera in the other. End ID.
