Spongy chocolate cake with flame blasted hazelnut crunch roof... aaaah. . ..and if it’s still not enough you can have some fun with additional homemade vanilla ice cream. . Photography: • huge window from the top part / partially covered to avoid unwanted reflection on the surface. • Low iso for clean details as always when I shoot still life • aperture mid closed f/7 on a f/2.8 90mm macro lens. (Lenses are the sharpest when you move aperture 4-5 stops higher) • little reflection card on the left side just to bring some extra details on the side of the dessert. • props were added at the window. It’s much easier to work. I know... You haven’t seen anything like this. 😳 ...probably you have no clue what it is, right? Albert Adrià nee creation. #mimetic peanutmimetic. Available in @cakesandbubbleslondon . . Photography: • huuuge window for smooth broad light. You can see how bright everything is. Ahhh... - beautiful. • one extra light from the right side to amplify the highlights + black cartboard placed on the left side to create a bit if shadow and give a bit more depth to the peanuts. • tripod of course 60 degrees - I found that is a good angle here. • shutter speed is fairly low 50/sec iso is low around 125 due to I had a tripod to use so no problem for steady camera. • a bit of editing on highlights and shadows. • completely removed the the unnecessary colours like blue + aqua + magenta + purple so that I have this eye pleasing warm coloured happy and festive picture. . • I had to take back a bit of saturation of the yellow and increase its luminosity. This is a frozen dried strawberry slice on a black slate @ the moment. 😅 . I love to combine slick surface with fine pattern and the dried strawberry gives a little robustness to the whole. . Only one light was used. Flash hi sync speed. . Quite easy to figure out where the source is. . 60x60cm soft box. . Angle 60° . What a great BRUNCH we had last week.. 😋 @alicehouseqp . Are you a fan of #flatlayfoodphotography ? . It is a really good way to show the table and elements. . Food styling is a huge part of the photography. • always place the main object into the desired position (white plate with poached eggs on it) • create a little atmosphere by using other elements that’s matching with the main object. • play with the geometric shapes, create triangles and 90 degrees angles on the big elements (eggs - salt&pepper grinder) then spice it up some random pieces like I did with a little card from the plate and the cutleries. . Recipe: Natural light Next to a huge window Blue & Warm Brown colours Rough textures Shiny objects 16mm focal length Iso 200 Shutter 160 Aperture f 5.6 Post production: A little touch on the light 💡 Enhance the highlights and the shadows while gradually pull back the lights from the right side (it was way to bright) .
