y'know what the best thing is about imagining the cast of homestuck on earth C? all the collaborative projects and activities they'd get into.

first thing that comes to mind is that Dirk and Jade would absolutely vibe with each other. it'd start off as the two of them getting involved in a complex robotics project, and would quickly devolve into the two of them nerding out about children's cartoon shows. I want them to be best friends, and cosplay together, and draw each other fan art. Roxy and Calliope are involved in this too of course, but their tastes in media are slightly different.

John and Karkat form whatever the opposite of a film appreciation club is. Karkat gets to bicker recreationally, and John gets to earnestly vent about movies he thought were better when he was younger. Dave often tags along for some quality bro time. he has never once absorbed the plot of anything they watch together.

Terezi and Vriska like shit movies too, but won't watch them with the aforementioned film nerd squad because they find the running commentary irritating. even though they basically do the exact same thing. go figure.

I really want Kanaya to be able to design a bunch of beautiful outfits, just like she used to back on Alternia, but this time she has Rose to model them for her. it'd be extra cute if Roxy also got in on it sometimes, just for fun's sake, and it becomes sort of a family bonding thing. and the idea of Kanaya getting really into photography is now my favorite thing in the whole world.

all the nerds who were already always RPing would absolutely start a really complex and involved DnD campaign together. shit gets absolutely wild. I feel like some of their group would just do a really honest and dedicated job of crafting their characters... Vriska, Terezi, Dirk, Jade... they're all good at this. I'm gonna say Rose is DM? Roxy makes her character a super goofy joke character, but then gets really attached, and cares about the game more than she thought she would. Dave would make a joke character that stays a joke character but accidentally ends up kinda OP, so he's in this for the long haul. I feel like John would want to be involved, but he's actually really bad at RPing, so his character is just kinda... himself? all their characters get fan art from everyone who can draw, and a lot of other friends who aren't playing probably still sit in on their sessions. sometimes Rose will call upon audience participation to act as random NPC characters or something. for flavor.

I think it'd actually be interesting if Rose ended up having Jane proofread a lot of her writing. Rose's writing style is pretty different from a lot of their other friends who do writing as a creative hobby, but Jane is fully invested, and is probably the biggest fan of Rose's work out of everyone. this could eventually inspire Rose to try branching out into writing a bit of crime drama... Jane loves a good mystery.

speaking of Jane... I think she's the only human kid who solidly knows how to cook. maybe Jade has like, some practical knowledge... but Jane is definitely the only one who actually likes cooking. she probably ends up horrified at a lot of her friends' eating habits, and ends up forcing them to at least learn how to scramble an egg or something.

Funnily enough, a lot of people say Sun is similar to me in personality, but I actually took a lot of inspiration for him from my best friend LMAOOO she’s a tiny girl that’s badass af, very driven, EXTREMELY BLUNT, extremely cute and pretty but the things that come out of her mouth sometimes could peel paint off the walls LMFAO

Sun has a lot of my interests too, though! I think everyone puts a bit of themselves into their ocs, right? rubs chin... I’m really into holistic healing irl, so I kinda channel my interest for herbs and nature into him. He works out a lot because I like working out a lot!!!!!! MUSCLE EMOJI 

I also took inspiration from characters like Natsume (Natsume Yuujinchou), Zack (FFVII:CC), Dick Grayson (Nightwing), and Izuku (BNHA), who go through A LOT OF SHIT™ and still remain loving and compassionate to the core. They’re all people with the kindness to extend a warm hand despite having been hurt before. People who are so good that they make everyone else want to be good in return. It may seem simple, but that requires so much inner-strength... characters like that are deeply touching to me, so I wanted to make someone like that too kekekkekeek

Besides having an unwavering golden heart, I wanted to make Sun someone that stood firmly with his morals, someone not afraid to fight passionately for his ideals. (IRL I’m a snail pace, go-with-the-flow, absent-minded kinda person, so RPing a loudmouth is pretty fun AHAHA) But being happy all the time, even for someone very optimistic, is a bit unrealistic, so I hope I have the chance to eventually portray some aspects of himself that Sun hides behind his cheerful smile. The determination to stay kind against all odds.... I plan to take Sun’s character development in that direction. BRING ON THE ANGST!!!!! THE DRAMATIC STRUGGLE!!!! THE HURT/COMFORT!!!!!!! Hullo (hopefully future) friends! I’ve got a bit of a weird proposal.

(For anyone who saw the first one on my OTHER-OTHER side blog, this is redux, the 2.0, because that sideblog was TOO NEW to show up in tags and I am really hoping that this one shows up on this MUCH OLDER and REPURPOSED sideblog!) 

ANYWAY, here blog isn’t and probably won’t ever be an RP blog. I’ve RPed on Tumblr a lot in the past (mostly in the Homestuck community, a few years back) and while doing so was a lot of fun, it was also a lot of work! Maintaining pages, bios, graphics, etc, is all stuff I seemed to have all the time in the world for a few years back, but I find I really just don’t anymore.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know where to find RP outside of Tumblr and cherubplay (thanks again, Homestuck!) either, but Cherubplay isn’t exactly the greatest for finding anything outside of just raw-doggin-it-smut-fests and while that can be, uh, fun, it’s not really what I want to focus on when I RP.

So why am I here?

I’m hoping to find other people who don’t really have time to run an RP blog (or who do have time, but also might be willing to dip their toes into doing it on Discord, too, assuming you aren’t already!) for some good time plotting and roleplaying!

Which I guess brings us to the meat of this whole thing… (more, of course, under the cut!)

WHAT WILL WE RP?

I’ve been real keen on otome lately and I’m really looking to play some canon boys to your MC or OC! While I’ve certainly had my fun playing girls before (mostly in WoW, or other MMORPG settings), I find I always prefer to play dudes, and (if you’d pardon this bit of arrogance!) I think I can be pretty dang good at it!

While I do occasionally ship MxM, it’s really only something I do with my best bro, so I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’m really only interested in MxF pairings atm! I hope that’s okay with everyone.

COOL, BUT WHAT SERIES? WHAT CHARACTERS?!

I’d like to say I have a pretty healthy familiarity with a lot of otome, but I’m not sure I’d be the hottest at RPing them all! If it can’t be guessed by my avatar, I’m kind of on a Hakuouki kick right now, so I’m partial to that, for sure, but for ease of readability and so you can get a good idea of what I’m open to, I’ll list them in some nicely formatted order.

Hakuouki Characters

Okita :: Okita is tied for my personal favorite Hakuouki dude with Sannan, but I think I’d enjoy playing him a lot more than Sannan (which isn’t to say I wouldn’t like to play him, too!). I’ve always been partial to smirky, tease-y boys, especially when they’re struggling with confronting their feelings.

Sannan :: Sannan speaks to my love of polite but cold characters, and it’s only a bonus that he’s a megane, which I’ve also always loved! As mentioned above, he’s probably tied with Okita as favorite Hakuouki dude, but I think Okita’d be easier to play.

Kazama :: Kazama is fun because I’ve always had a love for garbage can style kidnap-and-seduce plotlines if that was your kind of thing!

Saito :: I love Saito aesthetically and his personality is pretty rad and I’d rank him as pretty up their on faves, but I admit I don’t have overmuch experience when it comes to awkward slow-to-open-up kinda boys! I’m sure we could make it work though.

Other dudes :: I’d be willing to try honestly most anyone from Hakuouki but these are the ones above are the ones I feel most confident/interested in playing! If you’d like someone else, you can most certainly ask, especially if you have some kind of plotline you’d like to see!

Diabolik Lovers

Oh baby, yeah I am totally into this hot hot dumpster fire!

Reiji :: As mentioned, I love megane, and Reiji’s probs my favorite of everyone in the whole dang series. Older? Check. Smart? Check. Responsible? Check. Cold? Double check. Really fucking mean? Check. Smirky? Well, in the games, yes!

Shuu :: Sorry Reiji, but I also love Shuu. I might make him just a twinge OOC because his laziness might make advancing the plot kind of headachey, but other than tht, I love this loser.

Subaru :: Subaru, contrary to his third place on this list, is probably pretty close behind Reiji for favorites. Aggressive, ill-refined, totally willing to fight everyone – I admit I tend to play the more well-spoken and calculating kind of characters more, but I’d be willing to rock Subaru for you to the best of my ability!

Ruki :: I won’t say Ruki’s my favorite of the Mukami brothers but I like him a lot and I think I’d play him well!

Everyone else except Azusa and Kou :: Spoiler: I love Azusa to death and find him adorable but I don’t really relish playing openly masochistic characters, so he’s a no go unless we can work something out! Kou is – no offense, but I just really do not like Kou. As far as the famous Sakamaki triplets go, Kanato is one of my absolute all time favorites, and I’d be willing to play him with the right person… but we all know he’s kind of an absolute nutbag, so I’m hesitant to dump that on anyone! Ayato is a staple and Laito could be… like Kanato, I think I’d have to feel pretty assured by my partner they could handle the grosser parts of his character. Open to exploring it, however!

I’m not gonna bother sectioning everyone into neat little areas cause there is so few, but Toma is my favorite (I’m a real sucker for yandere, whoops). I’d be willing to play him, of course, provided my partner was comfortable with it! I’d also be willing to do Kent (my second favorite!), Shin and maaaaaaybe Ukyo. Sorry, I didn’t really care for Ikki – not because Ikki was bad (he was actually cool!) but because fan girl route characters drive me BANANAS.

Honestly, I’m gonna be real with everyone here: I love roleplaying because it’s like writing fanfiction with someone else, so it’s all the fun and self indulgence of fanfiction, but better, cause ya know – someone else is doing it with you! And I’m really here for the self indulgence, so please go ham.

Yeah, you can play the MC of the game, and I’d be cool with that! But honestly, I love OCs, and I’d love to hear about and plot with your OCs. I have some ideas for potential plots (especially for Hakuouki), but I’m also open to your ideas, too, and I think a lot of plots could work best outside the confines of a pre-established MC. Also, you get to show me your drawings/face-claims/whatever for your characters, and that’s pretty rad!!

Also, as someone had asked when I tried to post this on my previously non-functional blog, I’m also open to crossovers! I’m cool even if I don’t know much about the character -- you’ll just have to pardon my ignorance.

So, uh… RULES? RP STYLE? ETC? SOME POORLY ORGANIZED POINTS

+ Yeah, I’m deffo 21+ so ideally you would be too, especially if there’s anything like, remotely scandalous going on! I’m not too sure I feel very comfortable RPing with anyone younger than 18, mostly just because there’d be such a big age difference between us. Rest assured it isn’t because I think I’m better than you, or being ageist! It’s mostly just for my own sense of comfort!

+ Speaking of scandalous, I don’t push hard for anything super graphic unless that’s your style because I’m very much a person who loves drowning in the emotions of “holy crap does this guy really like this lady a lot”. I tend to be over indulgent as heck when it comes to inner monologues describing just how much your character makes mine’s heart go doki-doki, so expect a lot of that. If we start heading towards fuck-making of the graphic non-fade-to-black-variety, we should deffo discuss the sorts of things you discuss before those scenes! (Kinks? I GUESS???) But, as mentioned, it’s deffo not at all on top of my list of prerogatives. We need to BUILD for that!

+ My RP style tends to be 3rd or 2nd (lmao, Homestuck) person, present tense, a couple paragraphs to “oh my god, you can shut up now”. You can write however you like, with my only request being that you be passably literate! Not like, snootily literate. You get what I mean? I hope so. ):

+ As far as activity goes, I’m also fine with the Tumblr esque style of replying whenever you get around to it! If we both happen to be on for a barrage of replies, great! If we can only get one or two out a day, also great! I’m pretty easy going, honestly.

+ I love working in universe and also going mad with AUs. Find some cute starters or AU ideas on tumblr and you wanna throw them at me? I’m always open. From vampires where there are none to school AUs to coffee shop AUs I am willing to try most things, but note: I am primarily a fan of DRAMATIC ROMANCE so keep that in mind!

+ Want some kinda crazy love triangle where your lady is pursued by not one, BUT TWO DUDES? We can probably make it happen!

“Worried about me, mn?” He rolls his head from one shoulder to the next, halfway between a shrug and a stretch, and tries very hard to resist the urge to pull her towards him, into him, that he might catch more of the rich perfume that lingers along the line of her throat. “You shouldn’t be.”

You should, he thinks, and not without a hint of guilt, be more worried about yourself.

A good-natured elderly monster who’s a veteran of the War of Humans and Monsters, former Captain of the Royal Guard, and Undyne’s childhood idol. He took the spunky young fish monster’s attempts at ‘helping’ him beat up bad guys with humor. In the main verse, he’s more of a kooky uncle to Undyne than a mentor who’s not afraid to put her in check if her antics go too far.

King Asgore Dreemurr, King of All Monsters:

Asgore silently suffers from depression by the loss of his two children, the deadly choice he made that lead to the dissolution of his marriage, and the blood on his hands from murdering humans for their SOULs. But as a young girl, Undyne was swept up by the glorious image of the Monster King becoming a god and freeing his people from their underground prison. After Asgore accepted Undyne as his trainee, he became impressed by the young monster’s strength and persistence. His relationship developed into something of a father figure to the orphaned fish.

In the main verse, Asgore becomes concerned with the increasingly irrational choices Undyne makes. She defies his attempts to help her, thinking it was an affront to her abilities and a sign of his lack of confidence in her. Since then, Undyne alternates between living in Waterfall and Asgore’s castle.

“Pops” (below) is a police officer. He’s spirited, aggressively helpful, and can be seen driving around town in what his daughter calls “the most badass motorcycle EVER!!!” Undyne wants to follow his footsteps in her future career.

Fun fact: that isn’t hair on his head. It’s a flat red fin that flares out when he’s underwater.

“Dad” (above) is an owner of a start-up local hardware store. The most mild-mannered of the family and foil to his husband’s energy... until you bring up his life’s biggest passion: DIY projects and repairs! He prides himself for making all the furniture in his family’s new home.

Fun fact: He befriends Asgore as a fellow business owner.

Drulah is Undyne’s kid brother. Being born deaf, he has limited speaking abilities and instead uses sign language to express himself. He attends Ms. Toriel’s class with extra assistance. Much to his big sister’s chagrin, he throws a tantrum whenever he feels like he’s being misunderstood or ignored.

Due to his love for children (not the sexually kind, the whole like ‘kids are adorable kind), he enjoys this and does it well due to his experience. Sometimes the children call him as ‘big brother’ or ‘big bro’, which he is fine with. Regarding the past timelines, talking about the past is something he rather not do due to bad memories. When it comes to defending others he tends to be aggressively defensive, and will kill if necessary. But doesn’t want to, he NEVER wanted to do what had to be done. Additionally, he suffers from PTSD, which can be detected early via smell due to chemical changes in the brain. PTSD devolves into weekly or biweekly (as in every one to two weeks) episodes. When an episode happens, his senses are overloaded with the fake signals and cannot really detect anything else; however comfort through ANY means does help.

Variant One of Copycat- Madman or Waking Daymares(WIP, I dunno, not sure what to do with this one)-Timid, tends to shake, and avoids people (as in humans), but still is friendly with monsters. More so in fact, but seems to be a bit, obsessively defensive over them. Outright cold with other humans and if possible does not do any contact with them. Also mutters a bit to himself, but very quiet, like in whispers. But overall is still like Copycat, and loves children still, just a lot more protective. When it comes to partners he is a lot more obsessive over them, but in a friendly way, and tends to go where they go if he can, as an act of defense. Makes him feel better too, since he knows that they are okay, and aren’t in danger.

PTSD is permeant as words and sometimes images overlay what he sees with sounds effects. Lot more willing to kill humans, but tends to do it out of necessity. Mixed feeling of regret about killing. May SNAP around people, but ALWAYS signals he wants to get away first. Probably still has episodes, I am not sure if they are more or less frequent. And he has an off limits room, but he may open it up to friends, but it is very DO NOT TOUCH. Said room contains dusty memoirs of those who had died permeantly due to the glitching and corrupted AU he came from. He misses them dearly but he has moved on, but just remiscesses about them sometimes.

Honestly I dunno what to do with this guy.

Variant 2 Sol de dem Victus/The Remnant- No matter, he has done, no matter how many times he has tried, he always failed in the end. And he lost everything he cared about...he is the only one left in a glitchy AU. His soul is a colorful mess and his mind is shattered into many pieces. But he manages to keep himself together. This variant will only be rped in other AU's mostly. He tries to keep calm and kind, but its quite different from when. He tends to only dwell within monster populations to try to keep himself calm and collected, well with what is left of him. He thinks his friends are there with him as he can hear their voices still, but perhaps he's just insane. His magic is stronger than other variants due to plenty of experience using them.

If he does see humans he'll be calm, well of sorts, but if they show any signs that might trigger him, he'll do his best to stay calm, although he may kill them with ruthless efficiency. But its not like he truly enjoys it, after all. Someone has to do it, right? An idea I have for this is he'll be like nightmare but he'll go around and collect a few dust! characters before attempting one last one run with his AU, but expect lots of wholesome shit like homecooked meals and patched up clothing and such.

Mind Heist - Prologue

We often stay up RPing, and this is one RP that we decided would make a great fanfic! So a huuuuge thanks to Kaylee for writing this with me, and for all of the great times we've had doing this. Dipper gently turned the page of his newest mystery novel and adjusted the UFO blanket that was wrapped around his shoulders, bringing it closer to him. 'Weird,' he thought, 'for it to be chilly at night in July...'

The watch lying on the table next to his makeshift twin bed read 1:58am. For once, all was still and serene in Gravity Falls. Even the owls, nocturnal by nature, seemed to have turned in early. Now, bedtime for the Mystery Twins was 10:30, and Dipper's twin sister, Mabel, had been fast asleep for hours, with her treasured pet pig snuggled up by her side.

But Dipper just couldn't bring himself to sleep.

Not after the night he'd had the previous night.

Or the two or three nights preceding it.

For nearly a week, Dipper had been experiencing intense nightmares every time he tried to sleep. Now, nightmares were something he had gotten used to, between dealing with terrifying creatures of the night nearly every day and his own personal anxieties. But these were no ordinary bad dreams, you see; not the kind one gets from minor fears of monsters in the closet. No...these were a twisted, disorienting kind of frightening.

Just as twisted and disorienting, in fact, as one certain little top-hat-clad, one-eyed, nacho-shaped demon the twelve-year-old sleuth had come to know far too well...the demon he knew had to be responsible, somehow, some way.

Dipper just couldn't get the horrifying visions out of his mind. Even as he sat there, attempting to use fiction as a distraction, hazy memories of those terrible dreams - distorted and incomplete, but unsettling nonetheless - flashed through his head. The more he tried to calm himself down and convince himself that the dreams weren't real, the more wary he became. Something just wasn't right about the situation...at all. And he could feel it...

Suddenly, he was shaken out of his anxious thoughts when he sneezed. Twice. He'd been doing that off and on all night, but chalking it up to allergies, he just sniffled a little bit and went back to his book.

Mabel woke up to the sound of Dipper sneezing. "Dipper?" She flipped onto her side to look at the clock. "Is it breakfast time?" She rubbed her eyes and found out it was not.

Dipper picked his head up. "Oh, sorry, Mabel..." His voice stuck a little, so he quickly cleared his throat. "Did I wake you up? Was I, like...reading out loud again?"

"No, I just heard you sneeze a little...or I thought I did." Mabel yawned. "Why are you still up, bro? It's pretty late."

"I, um...just thought I'd get a little reading in before bed, that's all," Dipper quietly fibbed, not wanting to worry her.

Mabel became a little concerned. "Did you have a bad dream, Dipper?"

"...No." Dipper looked down. "Didn't...really give myself the chance to have a nightmare yet..."

Mabel sat up a bit. "Wait. So...you haven't slept yet?" She grew even more concerned then. "But you haven't been sleeping much at all...you gotta try to get at least a little sleep. You're gonna get SUPER tired if you don't."

"Aw, Mabel...I'm sure I'll fall asleep eventually," Dipper reassured her. "Reading helps me keep my mind off of things. And, hey...at least this time I'm not out of it enough to start eating my own shirt, right?" He laughed a little just thinking about how silly that last sentence sounded.

Mabel giggled a little with him. "I guess, if you say so..." She plopped her head back down on her pillow. "Hey, what if I stay up with you? Maybe talking could get your mind off stuff, too."

Dipper smiled a little. "Aw, I appreciate it, sis...but...you staying up super late and losing sleep isn't good for you, either. You're just gonna end up with bags under YOUR eyes..." Suddenly, he sneezed again and pulled his blanket around him a little tighter.

Mabel frowned a bit. "You sure you're okay? You've been sneezing a lot..."

"Yeah...just..." Dipper sniffled a little bit. "I think my allergies are just being stupid. As USUAL..." he said, rolling his eyes. He looked over and saw how worried his sister was. "Hey...if it makes you feel any better, I promise I'll at least try to sleep a little once I finish this chapter. Between reading this and talking with you...at least I'm not thinking about nightmare fuel anymore. Thanks, sis."

"Don't mention it, bro-bro." Mabel smiled wide, feeling a little relieved. "I should let you get back to reading then." She tucked herself in and got comfy. "Goodnight, Dippingsauce."

"Goodnight, Mabel," Dipper said. He went back to reading his book.

Silence came over the room for a moment.

"Also, Dipper?"

"Yeah?"

Mabel shifted a bit. "You sneeze like a kitten."

A pillow flew across the room and landed on Mabel's head. She and Dipper both burst out laughing.

Mabel soon fell back to sleep. As promised, Dipper soon closed his book, blew out his lantern, and tucked himself into bed as well. Though it did take him a while, he eventually drifted off into a light sleep...but unbeknownst to either twin...a strange shadow lurked outside. Not one belonging to a tree or an animal...but an eerily familiar TRIANGULAR one...
