He's schizophrenic in cannon and he's portrayed in a sympathetic way

He's smart and he needs assistance (because those two traits can very much coexist and they do irl)

He's trying his best, he has struggled to find a job (relatable experience for schizospec folks like me) and is now teaching golf

He has trouble socializing (again, another relatable thing for schizospec people beacause of the differences in perception and flat affect) but he values his friends (flatmates and caretaker) very much and helps them as much as he can

He goes to a psych ward that helps him out after a breakdown, and we get to see that after care is very important

Non psychotic people can learn a lesson on how to treat (and how not to) psychotic folk and how to deal with delusions from "The boys next door". His father putting pressure and humiliating him causes a major breakdown that could have been easily avoided acting like his caretaker does.

*I am schizophreniform (that's the last official diagnosis, although I've been dealing with psychosis for 18 months) and talking from experience
